Shugo stared at the two for a moment as they began to exchange words. The young boy had not been paying attention, but had finally picked up on what was going on. It seemed that there was a robber and Lacy Celica thought that this man might have some information.
"He kind of looks like a thief to me Luna", spoke Shugo aloud. He was making a observational statement that one would normally keep to themselves, however Shugo had made a bad habit of talking to Luna whenever he was thinking.

What? That fool? Probably froze to death already.
Although, i would like to know what trouble the devil caused; he's quite the unruly one. Rather apt at his art of mischief. Ran off laughing his heart out, I'd have given chase but he's quite a fast bugger, and decided to stay than risk freezing to death to find out what he'd done this time.
He smiled at the black pegasus looked toward its rider. The three were one of the strangest groupings of people he'd ever seen. There was a child riding a giant flying lizard, a woman who truly looked more bored than a decrepit aging monk, and their leader was the strangest of all. How could someone so confident and seemingly skilled lead these misfits? She rode a black pegasus to boot, and thats why he stayed. He'd have no second thought about attempting to lose these people in the snowy plains, but he may never see another pegasus of this calibre again.
If you tell me his name, I'll tell you where the scoundrel went, Deal? He pointed at the pegasus, standing as lazily as humanly possible. His father had always commented how rogus ever managed to run so fast despite his chronic lazy attitude and mannerisms. He grinned thinking back on the memory, but focused on the rare sight before him; he could flirt while he was running or behind bars, it was more important to admire a magnificent beast before they realized he was probably the thief. He hated horses really, but their flying cousins were truly magnificent beasts, especially the one before him, strong, dark, and truly one of a kind.
My name's Gus, its an honor to meet you three; and, of course, your steeds. He bowed, his well refined way of speaking would likely mark him as a noble of sorts; or simply a well mannered peasant. His bow was well practiced and as well refined as his speech; despite all appearances and mannerisms he still hadn't broken his old habits.

"I see..."

Well, if this one didn't like to hear himself talk, eh? Still, she had gotten a rather good description from a couple of people. This fellow here certainly seemed to match it as well.
If you tell me his name, I'll tell you where the scoundrel went, Deal?
The Pegasus snorted, a hoof grinding into the snow as if he was ready to charge after being pointed at. "Wouldn't point at him. Always had a bit of a foul temper, he has." Celica chuckled. Let's see what this guy thought he could do. "His name's Nergal. Named him after some story I read as a kid." The Pegasus still didn't appear to be getting any happier and Celica wasn't bothering to pull on her reins either.
My name's Gus, its an honor to meet you three; and, of course, your steeds.
"Celica. Captain of The Burning Blades." The name would be a recognizable one for Rogus given the town often did business with the mercenary company. Rumors surrounding her weren't exactly on the bright side, emphasizing how violent she could be. She wore a smirk at the moment and the way she carried herself on Nergal spoke of an aggressive intent.

"I'm Elisabeth, and this is Medusa." She answered herself, sighing as she spoke and giving a sort of apathetic shrug. Unlike her captain, hers was a name that carried little weight. Perhaps even negative weight, if you used it as a paperweight it would just drift up into the sky. Still it was asked, and she really didn't have a reason to not give it, and she hadn't said anything in a while so perhaps this will reaffirm the fact she actually exists. It was easy to forget, especially since she was so content in not engaging. Not that it mattered much really, she might as well not even been there. Obviously that was the plan in the first place, but this strange man seemed far more interested in the war stallion then anything else around here. The way he was staring at it, like a something sizing up his something, she wasn't in the mood to make analogies.
She was almost certain that this person was the person they were 'chasing', if that was what they were doing it wasn't terribly clear. She knew this not out of deductive ability or anything of the sort, but rather because that's how things tend to go these days. Of course there wasn't any proof, and even if there was it wasn't something Lisa was invested in pursuing further, so she just sort of stayed there quietly while she let the others talk. Maybe she'll chime in, it was unlikely though. She would let her boss do her thing, and aid when the time came, but until then it didn't really concern her too terribly much.

Celica and Nergal, Elisabeth and Medusa. Good to know... He was unfazed by her reputation he had heard so much about. He had stolen a sandwich, for elimine's sake. True, a thief was a thief, but he was only hungry, and the blasted man had refused to give him a reasonably lower price on a slice of meat.
I can tell we'll all get along very well. But I must admit, and I am sure you know, I am the thief. If you somehow didn't see through my poor excuse for an alibi, I am disapointed. However, i am sure you three did, or at least your noble steeds did; they smell liar you know. He smiled, and opened his arms, they hadn't killed him or attempted a capture, so they were either stupid or willing to reason. He hoped it was the latter. He quickly added a quick proposal.
You honored your end, I have honored mine. I told you where the thief was, he is here, or rather I am. So, since you haven't killed me yet, may I suggest an alternative to jail time? If this didn't work he'd try his luck in a run, or at least putting up some meager resistance.

"Oh so he is the thief", spoke Shugo practically shouting. "I knew it", spoke the boy before he realized he was talking a bit too loud. He immediately began to lower his voice back to normal levels. "Well if he is the thief I think we should take him in. He did steal from that poor man and he would want some justice for his stolen property", spoke Shugo. It was then that Shugo began to wonder what did the Thief steal. He was not paying any attention at all during the vent and was simply minding his own business.
"Just out of curiosity what did he steal again", asked Shugo finally?

"Well obviously." Lisa muttered offhandedly. "Though kudos on being so forthcoming with it, if all criminals were like you it would make things so much easier. Though playing detective wouldn't be nearly as fun." She sighed, still looking quite bored with the whole situation. "Still an awful lot of commotion over a sandwich, people calling you a demon and whatnot, people just love to affix the most random qualifiers to thing. Next we'll have a scourge of humanity jaywalker or something. Elmine forbid if we cross lollygagers."
She scrunched up her face a bit and looked at the man, then her boss, then the kid, then at the sky above with a small groan. "I'm not entirely sure what was planned on this little ride boss, but getting our knots in a twist over some petty thievery wasn't exactly what I was planning. Aren't towns supposed to have guards or something to take care of stuff like this?" It wasn't so much as she was upset, she just felt like this was big waste of time. Actually this whole thing was a waste of time, but y'know, whatever. "Of course I'll defer to your judgment boss." She said to Celica, deciding that 'boss' was good enough of a term. She wasn't a part of the mercenary organization, so she wasn't her commander and Elmine knows that she didn't have good memories of that term anyways. Celica is too familiar, and not just because she didn't want to offend, she also didn't want to imply that she particularly liked her either. Now Lisa was sure Celica was a real stand up gal, but she knew nothing about her and only had shaky dealings with mercenaries in the past to go off of, that and that little speech she gave earlier and all of it was wrapped up in this little flight she was ordered on. You know what they say about first impressions after all.
"I'd say just leave him. I'm not sure what his alternative is, but I doubt it will be terribly enticing. It was just a sandwich, make him pay a five gold fine or whatever." She finished with a sigh.

Elisabeth may be boring, but she was pretty damn witty, Celica would give her that. There was alot of bite in that quiet mouse. "Hahaha! Fine, fine. No more playing around. He'll have to go back to the village unless he wants to freeze to death anyways." She looked at the sandwich thief after saying that. "So hey, it's more your problem than mine. Have fun with the frost."
Nergal turned and began to gallop before taking off back into the air once more. "C'mon, Lissie girl! Life's already dull, you gotta have some fun with the distractions!"

In truth, he only stole the stupid sandwich because he ran out of coin for food. The people didn't have much in the way of wealth, and he had been looking for ways to get out of the place without risking getting lost and freezing to death. Maybe working for these mercenaries would provide that outlet.
Err... Wait! He shouted, frowning deeply. He hated begging, Listen, I'm out of gold, and I'm stranded, I appreciate letting me go, but what if i worked for you milady Celica? Surely an outfit like yours could use a more subtle touch.

"I'll take dull and eventless thank you." Elisabeth replied with a shrug to her boss. "Not that it means much when trouble follows you around like a lovesick puppy, but at least when it happens I can pretend to be surprised." She looked at the thief with a sigh and a shrug. Bandits, can't trust them. She certainly couldn't, wasn't her place to make the call but whatever she was talking anyways might as well weigh in. "For a man who comes off as clever, you could really do with being less predictable." She knew that this was exactly what he meant when he offered his 'counter-proposal' and the fact that they were just about to let him off the hook entirely and he more or less is begging means there's more to this then wanting to pay off his debt to society, big surprise.
She held up a finger to the man and sighed. "One moment." She told him as she took her boss to an aside, she wasn't sure if he was eavesdropping but somewhere deep down she didn't really care. "Boss, if you don't mind me saying..." She began, honestly not really caring if Celica minded her saying or not. What's the worse that could happen? She'll get fired? Oh no how would she live? "I'm going to start things off with saying I don't like bandits. Not at all. As far as I'm concerned thieves are just bandits who are a bit more subtle, so this isn't exactly a stellar first impression for me. I'm sorry, prejudice isn't a nice thing I know, I'm sure that plenty of those stealing murdering raping marauders are perfectly pleasant with kittens and little gardens, but prejudice dies hard. I'm ashamed of myself, really, so I have to say that a man who was just let off the hook for stealing and suddenly wanting to turn his life around and make an honest living working isn't entirely something to trust. As far as I can see it, this can go two ways. Either he'll completely defy my every expectation, cook up some crow with a side of humble pie and force me to choke it down, or he'll steal the horse right from under you." Of course that was just a saying, she wasn't actually expecting him to steal their horses. That'd be silly.
"Now normally I wouldn't care and let you do whatever, but I happen to be keeping some things I do care about back at the base, notably myself, so I'd prefer if I didn't wake up in the dead of the night and find myself dead in the night." She implored to her commander officer type person. Celica had wanted Elisabeth to speak more and Lisa was more than happy to oblige.

Okay, the thief finally got a laugh out of Celica, although it seemed more like a small chuckle to the other two that were nearby. That little offer of his was just ridiculous. However, it seemed that the dour pegasus rider wanted a word aside. Deciding to humor her before giving a reply to the Thief's ridiculous offer, Celica moved aside to do just that.
"Boss, if you don't mind me saying..."
"Go ahead." Celica wasn't one to turn down conversation when the people under her wanted a word. What followed was definitely quite the speech as well. Prejudice against bandits and how she essentially wanted nothing to do with them, except for perhaps stabbing them from what Celica could tell. Certainly things that the Mercenary Captain could appreciate as well. People always seemed to have this idea that Pegasus riders were super serene and gentle, but it was frankly pretty laughable. Perhaps quite a few were, but with a pair like Celica and Nergal, it was more like they were blood and thunder. Celica loved three main things and that was gold, Nergal, and the blood upon her axe in the heat of battle. So these complaints certainly weren't falling on someone with deaf ears.
"Now normally I wouldn't care and let you do whatever, but I happen to be keeping some things I do care about back at the base, notably myself, so I'd prefer if I didn't wake up in the dead of the night and find myself dead in the night."
"Oh, don't worry about that. I had no intention of humoring him from the beginning. He can either succumb to the frost or return to the town and pay for his actions. Pretty simple choices, no?" She jerked slightly on Nergal's reigns, the ebony warhorse turning so that Celica might look at Rogus again.
"No." She smiled at him with what could only be described as her smuggest face possible. "You got the option of freezing out in the frost or going back to the town. Death or a nice warm jail cell. What's it to be?" She never dropped that smug smile either.

Shugo simply sat back and watched the whole situation unfold. This was a bit out of his range of experiences. Shugo was use to fighting bandits, though that sounds weird for a ten year old, and dealing with clear cut situations. Tracking down a thief was not his forte. Not to mention how to deal with the thief now that they have found him. The stuff he usually gets himself involved in ends up with him killing somebody ,or somebody else kills somebody and then they go home. This was more like a slap on the risk and a fine of gold. Shugo really did not want to have a part in it. He was a knight for justice. He fought to protect people and get rid of bad men. This guy seemed just hungry and being hungry did not make you bad.
"I suggest you just take the jell cell", spoke Shugo. "Death kind of hurts", spoke the boy.

What if i worked my debt off for free? You could search me every night... I promise I'll behave, what do you say? He offered his services for free. Those who know thieves know they would never do that unless they were truly desperate. Rogus shifted uncomfortably at the thought of jail, he'd spent a couple of months in a etrurian prison a few years back, and wasn't keen on the idea of doing it again.
Otherwise... Take me to jail, I'm no fool I won't risk leaving into the snowy wastes with no supplies. He sighed, and looked out at the frozen wasteland with a disapointed gaze. He'd come to Ilia hoping to find some of the fortune the Mercenaries brought back to the capital, but he got lost after he foolishly decided to take a shortcut. A mistake he'd never make again, he'd learned his lesson.

Lisa shrugged and said nothing. There was nothing for her to say. She went back to her previous silence with a bit of a sigh. Petting Medusa a bit on head as she waited. Was her Boss just gonna leave this guy? Take him in as a recruit? Run him through? Tie him up and drop him off in town? Whatever she chose Lisa didn't care, she just wanted the distraction to be over sooner rather then later since it had seriously overstayed its welcome by this point. "Whatever you decide, can we hurry this up?" She said with a sigh.

Celica reached down to a saddlebag that Nergal wore, unclipping the latch and withdrawing a length of hempen rope. She then hopped down from the ebony pegasus' back, snow crunching beneath her heavy boots as she walked over to the thief in red. "Don't bother resisting and I won't have to break an arm." With the warning given, the Seraph Knight grabbed at one of the ex-noble's arms, twisting it behind his back with force enough to induce some pain. She grabbed at the other one then, bringing them both behind his back before tying him tight with the rope. The black haired mercenary placed a hand upon his arm once more, pulling him along with the deceptive strength that came with her intimidating look.
After getting situated in the saddle with the prisoner in tow, Nergal took flight once more with Celica leading him towards the village that they had previous come from. She left the thief there with the guards before taking flight once more. "Well, that wasn't quite the little trip I had in mind, but I think it showed me something interesting. Let's head on back for the time being. I've got a little planning left to do before we move down south." With the distracting bit of business taken care of, the mercenary was back on her way to her base of operations.
