The news to march had brought Roin out of his walk. One man, the stranger he had spotted, seemed rather off to him but for now he shook it away as he climbed back onto his horse. The soldiers who had been gathered for the Night Watch seemed exactly as he needed. A mix of soldiers of various experiences. With only a look to check for the healer, he motioned the Night Watch who had been looking his way to follow along. While the half-blood was glad to finally be moving, he knew full well that this march would get bloody equally as well as it might prove successful.
"I only hope that we avoid a majority of battles before we have gained sufficient number..."
The aloud comment was more of a mental note to himself, gently turning the horse and getting it into a slow trot. While he'd rather walk any day, being on horseback provided a good deal of its own advantages. He could see from a higher point, for one. The only problem with the Sacean on horseback was that he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with his sword or bow if the horse was going faster than a passive trot. Archer and swordsman, but certainly not any sort of cavalier.
"March easy, everyone...we need to preserve our energy as best we can."

"Ah~ Darling~" a honey coated voice simpered, an apple flying through the air and striking Hiro on the side of the head with a splat. Now apples generally are not ones to go splat, but ones that had been in a certain gremlin's possession for an extended period of time certainly had become rather soft. Which apples were they? There was quite a list, one could never be sure where or how she had gotten her hands on something. All one could know was that she had it, and her sticky little fingers would not be pleased to release it without some form of compensation. An eye for an eye, an apple for a heart, a leg for a whole family, the market was fickle.
Either way her toy had once again strayed into her sights, fate seemed to enjoy bringing them together, a reward for her hard work. It was quite nice to see the only one she would admit could match up to her wit, as nice as Mel ever seemed to feel. "Now now...you didn't miss me too much did you? Don't cry out from joy just yet...the night is still young and there is much more to save your strength for..." A cruel smirk darted from her lips as she lazily started to walk towards him, a soft sway to her imaginary hips that she had learned from observing other women.
Without the slightest shame she bounded the last few feet and cupped his cheek, pulling his face down into a long bittersweet kiss. This was...round three between them was it? She wouldn't lose this time, their little game was one that should would surely win this time around. Though it was odd to think off, was it still to be quite as amusing once she had victory in her grasp? Her surroundings meant nothing at the moment, all the bystanders simply props to further the stakes.

Wein scratched his head as he listened to the short, black haired girl say something about not being sure and being past the point of no return. It was a pretty vague answer, and he wasn't quite sure what she meant, but Wein concluded that the answer to his question was "for me to know and you to not find out". Some people might continue to pry, but the Ostian knew better. This Hiro chap seemed pretty shady, and Wein didn't like getting the business of shady people.
"Well, that's fascinating," the archer replied, his half-serious reply unconvincing even to himself. His head began to unconsciously scan the crowds, looking for a familiar face. Come to think of it, where was Valcrist? Wein hadn't seen the young smith since their last archery lesson together. The two had only official met recently, but to Wein he already felt like a familiar friend, and the truth of it was that he was more Wein's friend than anyone else here. The Ostian was remiss to start his little mission without at least saying goodbye.
And then Wein spotted the semi-familiar head of blonde hair standing a ways away. Raising his hand over his head, he waved at the man. "Valcrist!" he said, cupping a hand around his mouth. "Valcrist, over here!"

"So, this place you're taking us, is it empty or is your family living there or what?" Hiro asked hoping to avoid meeting her father, he was sure the man wouldn't be too happy to hear what Hiro has been doing with his daughter. Also, the less people that wasn't traveling with him to know what he was doing the better, loose lips sinks ships or something like that. Things had seemed to be going smoothly at the moment, then it had felt as if the hair on the back of his neck started to stand, normally that was a sign of danger but he felt safe with Harmonia by his side and his army near by. No it was worse than mere danger, an apple had splat on the side of his face, luckily missing his new wiafu. Turning his head in the direction it had came from while wiping it off his face to see that grimlin swaying her hips as she walked towards him. Dear sweat Elimine, if she had more of a woman's figure she'd be sexy right now the way she was walking. When she kissed him, it took all of his will power not to return the kiss and shoving his tongue into her mouth, instead he gave her yet another sly smile.
He pulled Harmonia closer, to show that there was some sort of intimacy between the two. "Harmonia sweetie, this is my ex-wife. I had told her back in Bern I had wanted nothing to do with her, yet she seems to be smitten with love still. I told her I didn't condone her actions so I left her, it seems like she's going to stalk me to the end of Elibe. Don't allow her to ruin our time together." He already had Harmonia wrapped around his finger, while it wasn't part of his plan it seems Mel was a work in process. Hopefully seeing him with another woman like this would drive her mad, and want him even more.

The blonde haired young woman slipped out of Hiro's arm after he had finished speaking of the little woman before her. She got really close to the new arrival, perhaps far too close for comfort for the shorter girl. And then she dropped her closed umbrella, leaning over you. Her usual smile was gone, replaced by a look of utter curiosity.
"You... are so..."
She lunged forward, arms suddenly wrapping around Mel as Harmonia pulled her closer, a bit too strong of a grasp around her neck due to the height difference.
"SO CUTE! ♥"
Harmonia's expression became one of utter joy and serenity once more, huggling the cute little gremlin in a fashion most embarrassing!

"Ex wife? Oh? Is that what we are going with now?" she simpered, gently wrapping her fingers around his upper arm, "so instead of staying home with me you went gallivanting off pretending to be unwed. What would your mother say to that? Her only son bringing such shame upon the family...and making his pregnant wife come after him..." Mel tutted, stretching up to pinch his ear between her thumb and forefinger "I do hope you've found a job!...You're father's sickness took a turn for the worse and..." She bit into her upper lip, leaving her bottom free to tremble as she dropped her gaze to the ground "please do come home darling...We all are mi-..."
Mel was cut short as she was strangled by the creepy child, tugging hard on Hiro's ear before releasing it and digging her nails into the girl's arms. She lifted up her legs and kicked at the irritating man in annoyance, a brow raised as she stared at him with an expression of 'really? This thing?'
And with that she gripped the girl's arms tightly and lifted up her legs, twisting to free herself and leap up onto Hiro for safety from the vile creature. "You wouldn't have happened to have chosen her for brains now? I must inform you that if you had...a dire mistake...she seems to have a lack of them." It seems that the little game had pulled to a close for the moment, though they would most certainly continue later. The sweet mask she had originally worn had already melted away, leaving the woman staring at the previously squealing girl with highly unamused expression.
"Now then...what mischief are you up to here? I hardly think it is something...tasteful. It would be unbecoming..." Her gaze shifted back to Hiro, a hand patting his head lazily as she picked off the little bits of apple still stuck to his cheek.

Mel spoke of Hiro's parents as if she knew them, what a joke. Little does she know, they never approved of his life style and when he told them a bold faced lie that he changed his ways and even works for Kraft himself, they just laughed and dismissed it claiming if it was true he was just doing more shady things. He did wish what the gremlin said was true, his father was on his death bed and all. Then Harmonia threw a curve ball, nearly squeezing the small woman to death, and it had seemed as if Mel would want to get away from her. That means she was doing her job almost perfectly, he would have preferred that she just stabbed the little wench but hopefully with her around it would deter Mel from clinging to him like she just did. As she jumped onto him latching on for security he placed both hands on her buttocks and gave it a nice firm squeeze.
"Normally when a married couple splits, that's how they refer to each other. We both know you're not with child, this is what the forth time you tried that story to keep me from leaving you?" Hiro looked into Mel's eyes, for the first time he gave her a straight face with all intent of being serious. "Now, you if you do wish to follow me all around Elibe why don't you be a good girl and join me and Harmonica in some fun tonight?" He knew Mel wasn't serious about wanting to be with him but it seemed as if she would go to great lengths to keep her story straight so why not take advantage of it? "If you play your cards right, you may get to see the greatest show of your life by time this army has achieved it's goal." He made a huge mistake a few days ago, Mel knew exactly who he was so he couldn't just push her away in fear of her ruining everything now. He was putting in all of his chips and taking the largest gamble now, keeping her around was the lesser of two evils based on what she knows about him. Here goes nothing, he leaned in and whispered into Mel's ear. "Keep your mouth shut, be my woman for real and maybe, just maybe you'll be my queen of Etruria." He gave the girl a soft kiss as he pulled his head away from her. "If you really want to keep this love triangle going, let's not let it impede these men and women's march."

There was a sort of buzzing in the air, something about apples... it wasn't important. It was distracting though, so when Wein called him over he only had to think a few moments before replying. Usually he'd have a whole huge internal monologue about it, look at that, Val was evolving. He walked towards the archer he met the other day, whom he already had shared a certain camaraderie with. It probably wasn't the wisest thing to do, since they barely knew each other, but he knew everyone else here even less. Val was the kind of guy who risks his life for people he barely knows anyways, he trusted too easily, a problem that has on occasion bitten him in the rear end. He barely knew Jya, even less than he thought he did, and he went out of his way to save her from being caught by the Ilians for a crime she did commit and he saw with his own eyes. Was it 'right'? Val didn't know, but he did know he didn't regret it. Well outside of the whole being a wanted man in Bern thing. That was kinda lame.
"Hey Wein." He waved over at the man as he walked towards him, a smile on his face and eyes closed. As he neared he hiked a thumb over his shoulder to where he was standing before. "They got me on the night watch." Val looked around for a few moments, to see if Jya was around, of course Wein wouldn't know that he knew her, so he probably wasn't suspicious or anything. Probably. "I see that you're going to be scouting." He ventured an accurate guess.
He hadn't seen much of Wein since the archery lesson, but there was a reason for that. Valcrist was getting all of his affairs in order, with the caravan, forging his sword, crafting Wein's bo- Wein's bow that's right. He started crafting it over a week ago, and he still wasn't entirely done. It was a magically enchanted item, and it required a lot of precise detail work. A single mistake and it's worthless, a particularly bad mistake and it's dangerous and will probably blow up in the owner's face. There's a reason many magical weapons are relics of an age long gone by, it isn't that the art of it is lost, it's because the crafting and creation of them are so difficult and expensive that only a handful of smiths dare to craft them. Valcrist had a leg up, since it turns out that his blacksmith training was perfect for the creation of such a thing. His mother and him were 'ceremonial' blacksmiths, which means that when they smithed they focused on the appearance of the item. The design, the way the blade curves, embedded gems, engraved designs. It wasn't entirely a useful focus when it came to everyday smithing, but when it came to crafting magical weapons it was the perfect training. Even bows, which required a different set of skills to craft benefitted, still it was something that had to be taken slow. He's long since adapted to smithing for usability and not appearance, and the skills transferred and he was really good at that too, but he was great at this sort of thing. It wasn't the first magical item he's made, but he would venture a guess that he's putting more care and work into it then he usually does, not that he was particularly careless or anything but...
Oh goodness, Val drifted off there for a moment. Get him started on smithing and he'll be stuck there all day. So he turned his attention back to the archer. "Just between you and me, this whole operation seems to be a bit more... Self-serving then I had anticipated." He cast a glance at the circus attraction with the man and two little girls. He wasn't in this for the glory or anything, but it felt a bit like this whole operation was just something to feed that man's ego. Still the smith simply shrugged. "Though I've never been good at reading people. So who knows."

Jya had walked on ahead for a bit, trying to keep her mind out of the gutters. She had no idea what was going on, except the whole prophet must die sort of thing. Come to think of it, wasn't she from Etruria. Sure she didn't remember what town she was from, but she was definitely from that area. Should she be a bit more, religious or something along those lines?
With a sigh, it didn't seem to matter to her one bit. She had no faith and honestly felt no guilt about what she was doing. She had already murdered a priest, what if she did in a prophet. She was sure he had it coming, at least that's what everyone in this expedition seemed to believe in. If so many people think they were in the right, what was she to argue against?
Before getting too far away from her partner, she retraced her steps back to find him, talking to Valcrist nonetheless. Of all people to run across, he just had to be the one. She decided it might not be the best time to talk, simply leaning against a support and waited.

"No, I'm kind of getting the same feeling," Wein replied, cringing slightly at the garish sight of the cloaked man fooling around with the two girls who seemed to be practically fawning over him. Yeah, the Ostian didn't get it. The man didn't seem particularly attractive, at least no more so than the average man, and it definitely hadn't been his manner that had won Wein over to his side. Perhaps he emitted more pheromones than the average person? An odd conclusion, but it was at least one explanation for the admittedly odd phenomenon. "It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the mission, does it?" Wein turned to look at Valcrist, a bemused look on his face. "But the way I see it, as long as he stays out of my way, I can get my job done and the Prophet gets axed. Now if I smell a plot, I'm out."
"But, yes, night watch. Fun stuff." Wein gave Valcrist a joking grin before giving the smith a friendly slap on the arm. "I got a job as a night watchman for a traveling troupe of performers once. Lasted about a week, and it was probably the most boring job I ever took. Every night I found myself dying to get back on the road, but of course all I had time for was breakfast and morning chores before I found myself falling back to sleep." The archer shook his head. "Come sunset I was awake again and ready to restart the watch."
"But of course that's the last thing you need to hear before starting a night watch, right?" Wein chuckled, albeit awkwardly. It really wasn't good form to gripe about a certain job before someone else was just about to start doing it. He didn't want Valcrist to be dreading his role already. "How is the archery going? Practicing those techniques I taught you?"

"Huh?" Valcrist hadn't been paying terribly too much attention to Wein, nothing personal or anything. His eyes caught the eye of a certain person watching them from a bit aways. He broke out of it, actually answering what Wein had been talking about.
"Oh yes, archery yes. Been practicing." He had been practicing, but it hasn't exactly been a huge amount of time since he started. Still he got the hang of the basics quickly, even if he didn't have knowledge of archer in particular, he was skilled in things other than archery that required similar traits and skills. He had dexterous fingers, good eyesight, and was fair at aiming, so he got the hang of things quickly. Wein could beat him blindfolded, and that was a skill gap that wouldn't be bridged any time soon, but he was confident enough that he could use a bow at a basic level. He'd have to try it out the next time he was in battle at least, he also was curious about trying a spear or axe. Maybe both, broaden his horizons a little. He'll always be a swordsman at heart, but he wasn't dumb and he knew the advantages other types of weapons held. Being a blacksmith he probably knew better than most, since he had to make the darn things. He could already use them a bit anyways.
The nabatan took a deep breath, letting it out in a long sigh. "I didn't join because of his 'charisma' but because it was something I wanted to do, the cause maybe as stupid as it sounds. Still it's a bit disheartening when the one everyone was listening to was someone like him." He looked at the man again, he seemed to have a thing for girls barely out of puberty. Or not even that far along yet. "I don't know a lick about him, but with his talk of 'fortune' and 'glory'... Well it's kind of hard to imagine that he doesn't have an agenda. I just hope this isn't a trap, rounding up Etrurian dissidents for 'purification' or whatever coat of paint they'd slap on massacre." It was a dark thought, but not farfetched. "Ah, I'm sorry. Sometimes I think too much and expect the worst. Not exactly a fun thing to talk about I realize." Valcrist said with a chuckle.
"I'll be fine on night watch, it's boring but I'll live. I'm more worried about you two. Nightwatch may be boring, but at least it's safe." He gave a small punch to the archer's shoulder in response to the slap from earlier. "Ahhh, but you'll be fine. You're a tough guy." Well Valcrist assumed he was a tough guy, he didn't really know. The fact he was still alive though, after the junk he told Val he went through, well tough seemed to be an appropriate description. "I shouldn't be keeping you, looks like your partner is waiting."

Mel raised a brow but went right along with Hiro's little game, finding no reason to do otherwise. It was simple curiosity, a way to pass the time for the moment. Honestly his intentions nor alignment meant little to her. Yet a story was a story, and interest was an interest. "Well then...darling..." she mused, gently stroking his chin with her finger. "There is much to discuss...later..." She was aware of her leverage, though small to her it would be still someone nice to toy with, and the look she gave him said it all.

This whole shindig was going pretty smoothly, they had a few minor scuffles but nothing major. Hell it did good to get into some light combat, it was reassuring to Hiro that they would be successful. Judging by the map they were about a day's worth of a march to the location that Harmonia was providing for them. Hiro had kept his attack plans hidden from everybody, he would reveal them to his trusted advisers, the people he assigned task to for scouting and gathering others as a healing team and night watch.
Looking around everybody seemed tired of marching, it was good to know they were approaching a safe haven soon. They could rest up as they go over the battle plan, for it to work everything would have to go perfectly. He had also used the time marching to find somebody to claim was a person from one of the wanted posters, but he had no luck. Great, that meant he had to go with Plan B, Plan B sucked why did it have to come to that? Looking down to Harmonia who remained by his side this entire time he gave her a smile, granted it was a fake one but he attempted to make it look real. "Are you excited about going home for a few days?"

Valcrist gave a sort of tired smile to Wein and waved as he walked away, looking around at who he was dealing with. The first seeds of doubt began to take root into his mind as he watched Hiro, it made him think about just what it was he was trying to do here. Was this a mission of justice? Or one for his personal glory? More importantly, why did Valcrist even care? He shook his head and shook it off, but he just knew things would slowly gnaw at him. If it was just one thing, he could repress it, but the more things added up the more doubtful he became. He took in a deep breath, sighing heavily. He was a blacksmith, not a mercenary. He wasn't entirely sure why he thought it'd be a good idea to suddenly change jobs. He split up with Varen and Heygus too, friends like them don't come around that often.
At the moment he was content enough to just mindless go along with whatever he was told to do, but by that night he would have made his decision to leave.
