It was time. Willow and Oya were finally going to be married. They'd gone through tough trials and overwhelming odds... And now, at long last, their sacrifices and efforts were to be rewarded.
The small town of Faresh was buzzing with activity -- it wasn't often that a couple got married, and even less frequent that it was, well, the town priest's daughter. The church was lively and bustling with well-wishers, townsfolk, and assistants.
Willow was in a room of her family's house, dressed in a shimmering and sleek white dress. She wasn't a huge fan of all the to-do and formality, but, it came only once. Why not enjoy it, by Elimine.
The ceremony was supposed to start soon... She hoped Oya was doing all right. As per custom, they were getting ready separately.
She couldn't wait. Finally, they were going to be married. Finally! She said a silent prayer, thanking St. Elimine for helping her find the One.

So today was the day. Today Oya's life as a bachelor was over. From today forward Oya would be a married man. Despite all the horror stories he heard as a boy getting married did not seem like such a bad thing. As a matter of facts Oya was happy to get married. The only thing that was missing from the service was Oya's own mother. The short time of arrangement and Oya's own personal judgement made it so that his family could not show up. Oya dreaded the idea of Willow's parents meeting his mother and her crew. The wedding would be called out and Willow would end up locked away some where.
"So how does it fit", asked a woman from behind Oya. The woman was the local seamstress and was making sure everything fit well on the boy.
"It a bit tight around the neck, but its fine", spoke Oya as he stared into a mirror.

"Um, um, um..."
Willow began pacing. She was nervous... Nervous... "Calm. Calm..."
---Timeskip about an hour---
"Willow, are you ready?"
Willow took a deep breath. "...Ready." Hearing music begin to play in the main body of the church, Willow readied herself. She was going to commit. She had found her soul mate. They had survived trials and tribulations... Their ship had not drowned; in fact, its sails were unfurling as she waited. A new life was around the corner. And she'd be ready to take it on!

Oya stood at the front of the church waiting to see Willow. He knew she was going to be beautiful in here brilliant dress and could hardly hold the anticipation. Despite his excitement Oya was a bit uncomfortable. The suit was a bit too tight for his liking and standing in front of so many people was causing him to sweet a bit. However his facial expression did not show it.

"Here I go..." Willow whispered, entering the church. As the music reached a triumphant climax, she walked straight down the aisle as if in a dream. As she entered, as if by divine providence, a sunbeam shone out from behind a cloud, illuminating Willow in a haze of brilliant light, which reflected off the shining silver threads in her dress and filled the room with miniature rainbows and color. Reaching the altar, she gracefully came to rest as the music faded. In the charged hush that followed, Willow's father stepped forward, standing in front of the altar, and addressed the young man in front of him, saying,
"Oya, do you take Willow as your wife, on sea and on land, through good times and bad, in war and in peace?"

"I do", spoke Oya as he stared into Willow's eyes. This was the moment of truth. Oya was giving his all to Willow and prayed that she would do the same. Oya's days as a bachelor were over. It was good by to Me and the introduction to Us.

"Willow, do you take Oya as your husband, on sea and on land, through good times and bad, in war and in peace?"
"Yes. I do." Willow matched Oya's gaze, letting herself be soothed and relaxed by his strong and solid countenance.
"Then, I, Aspen Elm, with the power bestowed upon me by the great St. Elimine, do join you, Oya, and you, Willow, in holy, sacred, and binding matrimony. May your days be filled with light and joy, and the ties of love bind you always -- for what Elimine has joined, no man should part.
I now pronounce you... Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride."

As the words you may kiss the bride were spoken a small blush crossed Oya's face. It would be the first time he and Willow actually kissed, and to make it worse it was going to be in public. However the embarrassment of the event did not outweigh the joy he felt being with Willow, and Oya could not say he dislike the idea of kissing her. He was marrying her after all. Oya moved in he rapped his arms around her back and kissed her on the lips. With this kiss he sealed their marriage to the saint and to the world. Willow and Oya were one.

As Oya leaned in, Willow reciprocated and the world spun away as their lips met. The gathered townsfolk raised an uproar loud enough to shake the church to its foundations and awaken the dead. Rice, birdseed, and coins rained down in a torrential outpouring of kindness, well-wishes, and admiration. In that moment, nothing else mattered. It didn't matter where they'd been, where they would go, how old they were, or their class and status in life. All that mattered was their love, their hope, their dreams. In that moment, Willow and Oya were one.
