Name: Xerxes Locke (Known as Locke)
Class: Earth Manakete
Hair Color: Mossy Green
Eye Color: Grey
Age: 728 years
Born in: Arcadia
Appearance: Locke is a fairly ordinary man in terms of physical appearance, standing at about 5'10" and built in a lithe and elegant manner. The most unusual part of his appearance are the three tattoos he sports on his forehead, cheek, and neck. His hair, although generally unkempt-looking, is kept out of his eyes, and the long tuft he has is usually kept in two leather bands and slung over his shoulder. His eyes are quick to appraise an individual, and have a perpetual look about them of one who has lost something dear to him, and doesn't know where to find it.
Clothes: Locke wears robes akin to those of a mage, although he does sport a well-crafted and uniquely embossed shoulder pauldron. The vine pattern on it is a mark of his family, similar to a family crest or coat of arms, if you will. The loose, flowing robes allow him considerable mobility and versatility in action, so that he is unhindered by any weighty armor in physical combat scenarios.
Story: Locke was born 272 years after the Scouring occured; at that time, there was still considerable fear among the dragonfolk in Arcadia. Locke was taught well; in his youth, he studied the lore and history of both human and dragon, never leaving the safety of the village. He showed remarkable aptitude for martial arts involving throws and holds, using agility and mental discipline make up for his slightly sub-par physical strength. Once he had come of age, his father gave him the family's ritual marks as a way of passing down their heritage and history, to which young Locke responded with great alacrity.
After a handful of centuries studying and honing his skills in the village, Locke was greatly surprised to see one day that a manakete who had left the village back in the days of his youth had returned safely. The older dragon shared stories and tales that piqued his curiosity, prompting him to seek out the wanderer one night and question the elder as to the safety of such a journey, and its relative merits and consequences.
Having learned that the outside world was flourishing, and that the hysteric fear of dragons had somewhat lessened, Locke felt comfortable leaving to explore. His family, trusting in his prudence, allowed their only son to leave, giving the journey their blessing. However, his elder sister, who was a young dragon in the time of the Scouring, felt very strongly that the trip would be a horrible, horrible mistake.
Locke left the village, having bid everyone farewell. He flew across the desert by night and rested by day until, one night, he saw the light of human settlement glowing faintly on the horizon. Thrilled, the dragon tucked away his stone, hiding it carefully within reach, and then proceeded to enter the world of the humans.
Edit (1): Locke traveled with and lived among the humans, forming bonds of friendship with the quiet bowman Kyle and a fellow dragon, Aeos. Throughout the days of wandering, and the many battles he fought for and with humans, Locke began to understand the fear that lives within the hearts of men, and how he might bring peace. It will be a long journey, but he continues to walk along the road to acceptance and coexistence.
