"What in the world", spoke a bandit as he stared at the fate of his comrades. It was something he had never seen before. Something not of this world. In an instant they were swallowed up by the darkness. At first the bandit could not believe his eyes. He thought he was seeing things. He was sure the image before him was not real and must be the result of some kind of illusion magic, but he was wrong, dead wrong. When he saw the bodies of his comrades fly out and hit the stone he realized that he was not dreaming. That this was real. The bandits with more courage attempted to push forward and attack the guard, but for him. He was done. He wanted no more of this. He was not going to throw his life away to the darkness for a shinny coin and some old man's warn dresser. "R...r... retreat", shouted the man as he began to flee in fear. His act of cowardliness disgusted many of the bandit ,but it magnified the fear in others. A few of their forces fled the battlefield alongside him. They would rather have their lives than a gold coin.
"Who is coming", whispered Bones to Kimble as she hid around the courner.
"Sorry I did not get a good look", whispered Kimble. "I saw somebody turn the corner and I moved immediately to hide my own presence and alert you all."
"Nice call kid", spoke a bandit as he moved next to the duo.
"On the count of three I am going to go around the corner and kill whoever that is", spoke Bones. "Stanly, Frank, and York I want you all to break into the house and start a fire. Me and Kimble will start to more on the opposite side of town. Escape using any method you can. We will meet at the spot", she spoke. The others gave a nod as Bones took a deep breath.
With the speed of lightning Bones turned the corner. As she did so the other bandits rushed the back door of the house they were hiding behind and knocked it open with their shoulder. Like a pack of wolves they rushed through the house searching for any sign of life. However the home had been evacuated when the word of bandits circulated through the town. Like many other villagers the inhabitants fled to a more secure location.
Meanwhile outside Bones turned the corner. To her surprise she was not meet with the image of a armed guard, but that of a young little girl. The little girl had white pale skin and bright pink hair. Her eyes were a golden yellow eyes. She wore a white dress and had a big blue bow on the right side of her head. In her eyes one could see the innocent of youth.
The sight alone caused Bones to pause. It was not what she was expecting. "Umm", spoke the little girl as she looked up at bones and the iron axe she was holding. "Are you one of the guards", she asked as her eyes moved to the chest guard the brigand wore. Her words caused Bones to gasp as she came back to her sense.
"Hey Bones what...", spoke Kimble as he turned the corner. He saw the situation and immediately realized what was going on. "A child", he spoke with surprise.
"Umm sorry Miss. Guardsman", spoke the little girl frantically. It was clear she thought she was in some kind of trouble. "I know you said for us to all stay in the church, but I left Mr. Fluffy and I...", spoke the little girl as she began to explain that she came back for a stuffed bunny.
For Bones however he story did not matter. Bones knew what she had to do. "I am sorry", spoke Bones suddenly as she got down on one knee and stood in front of the little girl. "But you should really have not disobeyed", she spoke as she pulled out a dagger from her boot and stuck it in the little girl's heart.
Silence, everything stopped for a moment. Bones paused to watch the life bleed from this young girl's eyes as she stared in horror at the woman. A cold expression crossed Bones face as the young girl's life came to and end.
"Y...you killed her", spoke Kimble with disbelief. He was shocked to see it. To see Bones ruthlessly slay the young girl as if her life was nothing.
"Come on Kimble we have work to do", spoke Bones without looking back at him. The maiden rushed out into the street and began to head toward the third point she drew in the sand. Kimble however stayed back for a second as he stared at the young girls body. He could not believe what Bones had done and done so with such a empty expression. Suddenly the sound of a crackling fire roared behind him. The other group had managed to find some rum in the house and had already managed to set it aflame. "Right", spoke Kimble in a teary voice as he began to rush after Bones. He still had a job to do, though his resolve was shaken.

As Neil sidled through the shadows, looking out across the town and periodically glancing up to make sure no one was climbing over the wall, he suddenly smelled something very unnerving.
Smoke. And where there's smoke, there's...
"Fire. Dammit, there's a fire. Well, then... I guess it's my job to stop it, isn't it?"
There are some times when having mastery over the natural elements is a good thing. Right at that moment, Neil really wished he knew how to summon water, or ice, or something helpful like that. But without any knowledge of anima magic, the shaman decided it would be best simply to stop more fires from starting. So he left the shadows and ran towards the flames, managing to catch sight of a dead girl, laying with blood still pooling, and the retreating form of a...boy? These bandits were using young people too?
Turning the corner, Neil sent two tentacles out, which protruded from houses to form a barrier in front of the older bandit and what appeared to be his/her apprentice. This crime could not go unpunished. Such a heinous act deserved no mercy. None at all.
The face of the girl was burned into the shaman's mind, the wound still fresh and gaping, as the shaman roared out menacingly. His eyes were twin slits of hatred and fury, and he stalked forward like a tiger approaching a lame gazelle. He would slay them like the dogs they were... For that innocent girl.
"Turn and face me, bandit scum! I will kill you both where you stand! You filth! You vermin! Prepare yourselves for hell!"
The pupil leaped forward, landing in an intimidating stance and sending a surge of dark power towards the boy bandit.
"Aeternis tenebris, venit si te capiunt!"

After a while of simply swooping up and down from the bandit crowd near the gate, Orys had grown bored of this easy pray. Balerion had helped himself to feed on at the very least four bandits, and had grown satisfied too. So, Orys decided to shake it up for himself. So, he kicked Balerion gently and forced him to fly circles around the town, searching for some sneaky targets.
And so he did find some. Apparently the tactician had also taken field. This manchild could not last alone, even if he would pull thousands of the tricks he had used before to the battle. And so, Orys kicked Balerion as the wyvern swooped down, picking up one of the bandits into his claws before dropping him down from a great height. "I GOT YOUR BACK, BOY! HAR!"

"Soft hearted Boy", spoke Bones as she began to push through the street. She had slowed down to give him time to catch up, but that seemed to be a bad idea. Suddenly a wall of black tentacles ripped through the side of a nearby house forming a barrier of darkness. "Trouble", spoke Bones to herself as she realized thy had a shaman on her tail. Immediately the bandit became cautious as she knew the power of magic very well. "Kimble behind me", she shouted as she made a quick turn to the right and threw herself into a wooden door. With the full force of her body she broke into the house. Trying to fight a shaman in the open street without knowing his exact location would be foolish.
"Right", spoke Kimble. Kimble's mind was no longer clouded with thoughts on that little girl. It was now focus on his own safety. The journeyman attempted to turn into the same open door way his mater had run into, but a sudden great force had picked him off his feat. Kimble looked up to see a mighty Wyvern picking him up into the air. "Bones", he shouted with fear as the Wyvern took him high and then dropped him. His death was written in stone.
"Kimble", spoke Bones as she watched as he fell toward the earth. She had broken her way through the house and began to move through another. There was nothing left she could do for the boy. Quickly she drew her axe and cut the door nob off the door to another house and pushed it open. She then turned to the left and hopped over a fence to enter the main road. If she was followed she hoped to fool him with her little rose. Even with Kimble dead she still needed to hit the other two markers. As she ran she saw a second house go up in flames. The other three were making progress very quickly.
As Bones played her game of cat and mouse the bandits were having a rough time. On the eastern front they were in a battle of tooth and nail. The bandits had the gate open, but the desertions and fierce assault made by the defenders made it unlikely they would succeed. On the western front things were looking better. The bandits had rebuilt their ram and for the most part they had kept their loss from the Wyvern at bay. With a great push they broke through the gate, and the true battle for the west had began.

"I GOT YOUR BACK, BOY! HAR!"
It was the wyvern rider! He'd come back to help him!
And the bandit... Oooh. That looked like it hurt. There was a lot of blood and gore. Ow. Now, what about the other one?
Looking around, the shaman saw a house that had been broken into. But when he looked in, he saw nothing. Where had the other bandit gone?
"Sir! Can you take to the air and tell me if you see anyone running? I need to know where to go!"
Suddenly, a crash rang out. It came from the west... The gate.
"There's not much time. We need to get rid of that bandit, stop those fires, and defend the gate. Let's move!"
The shaman ran out towards the center of town, and his tower. He'd use Eclipse to halt the attackers at the gate and buy time for the militia. Their numbers were greater than the bandits, and so was their morale. They just couldn't let the line break.
Meanwhile, at the eastern gate, the defenders progressively tightened their circle, stepping over the bodies of the fallen brigands as they began pushing back, trying to force the offenders out of the city and so 'win' the eastern front. Their progress was admirable, as was their unity. They were working well together.
The western front was still quite chaotic. While the encircling defensive lines were tight and strong, they were large, allowing many bandits to enter. Plus, there was no shaman to frighten the attackers in this area, and so both sides were fighting strong. It was much more evenly matched here.
The group of guardsmen still in the city split, leaving half of the force to guard the one entry to the church where the villagers were waiting. These elite soldiers wouldn't be defeated easily; among the four of them, there were three Great Knights and a Paladin.
The more inexperienced soldiers had taken buckets and moved over to the first flaming house. By the time they arrived, it was too late to save it, but they successfully contained it and spared the surrounding buildings. But the new fire would be much harder to contain. They rushed off towards the house, but it was all the way back where they'd come from. It would take them a little while to get there... And by then, it might have spread.

"Right then, boy. Trust those straggles and sneakers to me! I'll handle singles around town, you go and coordinate the troops!" He nodded after Balerion had finished dropping down the poor bandit, before whispering to the wyvern. "Come on boy, let's hunt for some mice." With that Orys drew out his spear, kicking Balerion as the two begun to fly around the town.
After a while of simply flying around, Orys finally noticed something. As in, someone. It was her pink haircolor and the color of one of the houses burning reflecting off of it that made him finally notice her. "Balerion, strike!" With the simple order, the wyvern begun to hone in towards the female bandit.

"You execute one to warn a hundred", spoke the first bandit as he pulled back on his bow. The other two bandits had finished setting their third fire. From the roof they saw that their first had been put out and that the defenders were forming a bucket brigade to move to put out their second.
"Pshaw", looks like these buggers don't give up", spoke the third bandit as he jumped from the roof. "We might need to pick up our pace. It seems like Bones might be dead".
"At the very least we know Kimble is", spoke the second Bandit as he followed the third from the roof. "The little punk screamed like a girl in the end."
"Even still we best be wary", spoke the first bandit as he let go of the arrow. Like a bolt of lighting it ripped through the air at blinding speed. With pinpoint accuracy the archer hit the leader of the bucket brigade dead center of his neck. Blood splattered as the man fell to the ground dropping his two buckets of water with him. The sudden death of there comrade sent the bucket brigade into a panic. A few of them dropped their buckets and dawned their shields while others looked in shock at their dead comrade. "Alright time to go", spoke the archer as he jumped down from the house and followed the others. He had no intention to be on the roof when the defenders came to investigate and he had no reason to either. That shot alone was more than enough. Fear was now implanted into their ranks and that fear would hinder their productivity.
"Alright one down", spoke Bones as she managed to set a fire in one of the homes. To her great shame it seemed like the other group was moving much faster than she was. As she looked at the smoke she saw a figure moving through the air. "It must be him", she spoke with both disgust and anger. He had killed Kimble and not in a honorable fashion either. Kimble deserved a death by blade, lance, or axe, not that way. As much as she wanted to simply place a axe in the man's skull that was not going to be possible at the moment. He had a wyvern, which made the entire battle extraordinary difficult. In a open field she would be in a great disadvantage. However this was urban warfare.
Bones let off a sinister smile as she walked into a nearby house. she made sure he saw her do it as she wanted him to know she was going to use the buildings as shields. Once inside however she did not waste time. The maiden of death quickly rushed to a nearby desk and grabbed the lantern filled with oil. She then set a fire inside the building and moved to swing out the back door and into the crowded alley ways. She specifically chose this area because of how crap the space between the buildings were. Getting a Wyvern into here would be extremely difficult and doing so would result in the rider leaving themselves expose.

Lynessa couldn't let herself taking refuge in church when the town was being set ablaze by the bandits. "How they got inside?" she thought. She then figured that one or two bandits might have slipped past the defense when most of the guards were focused to the gates. The ice dragon feared this town would lose the siege if those rats continued to set everything in fire. The town probably wouldn't be enough manpower to do put out the fire and defend the gates at the same time. Even if it did, the defenders would lose their morale if they saw their house burned, which was very very bad.
The ice dragon went to where the burned houses were, following the smell of fire and ashes. Her stoic expression had slowly turned into anger as she walked. Lynessa could never comprehend why those bandits did this. Why they pillaged and killed people? Some people said they did it for survival, some others said it was for the loot. They might have circumstances that pushed them to do this, to hurt people, but Lynessa would never forgive those bandits. The townspeople were losing their houses tonight, burned by the crimson flame created from human greed. There no way she wouldn't let this hell continue destroying this town. There must be something she could do.
Lynessa was looking for the bandits when she saw a pink-haired woman come out from a building. The ice dragon stared at Bones, questioning whether this woman was an ally or an enemy. Militia or bandit? It was difficult to tell which side she was just from her outfit and weapon. "What are you doing here?" she asked as she approached Bones cautiously.

The shaman turned corners, sprinting now, racing against time as he dashed over to the tall bell-tower in the center of town. Up the steps he flew, tripping at least three times before he burst out onto the observation deck, ringing the bell and roaring out in his best inspiring voice.
"MEN OF LUMBURG! PRESS FORWARD! DRIVE THESE COWARDS BACK TO THE GATES, AND THEN SEND THEM ALL TO HELL!"
Standing alone, looking towards the western gate, the shaman raised his hands. A hexagon appeared in the air before him, and as he swirled his hands, the six glowing glyphs that made up the corners of the shape began to pulse and spin, each moving to their own mysterious tempo. The shaman's eyes glowed in their light, and his movements became frantic as he mumbled to himself, his voice lilting as if invoking the good graces of some arcane god.
"Aeternis tenebris, vestrum absolvo comprimenti furore!"
The eastern circle continued to tighten, the defenders invigorated and renewed by the young man's pep talk. Spears pointed like a hedgehog, swords and axes swinging, the men of Lumberg fighting off their assailants with great alacrity.
The bucket brigade, meanwhile, had all but fallen apart. The men were inexperienced and so easily frightened, and they'd scattered like mice at the shot. This was indeed bad for the defenders, but for now, their fire-fighters were cowering in alleys like rodents.
On the western front, the battle was going poorly. The archers of the village were engulfed in a deadly shootout, and the ground forces were dueling in a maelstrom of death and confusion. The archers of the village let loose a volley of arrows, but, much to their shock and despair, the bolts immediately shot downward towards the ground, as if pulled by an invisible wind. But this was no wind.
A jagged crack of darkness split through the bandit group massing near the gate, and suddenly it was as if giant boulders had been set upon them. Men who had stood tall and proud now were slumping like the elderly, and the townsfolk took their chance, attacking with a vicious frenzy as soon as the dark crevasse faded away.
"Need... Rest..."
The shaman slumped against one of the pillars supporting the bell, breathing heavily and watching the battle rage on. He was only one person. He couldn't be everywhere!

Orys furrowed his brow as the pink haired bandit woman managed to avoid him by rushing straight trough one of the houses. He wanted to show this woman that banditry would ensure her death. But Balerion could not fit trough that house, and who knew if there would be more troops behind that house that were already handling the situation. It was already clear he could not land to the alleyway by flying.
Bah. Enough about wondering, he would need to act or she would get away. "Balerion, ram."
Balerion snorted heavily, letting out a loud roar before charging forwards, slamming trough the house walls, blasting trough them until hitting the alleyway.

Another target, thought Bones to herself as she saw the woman walk out and talk to her. Bones was not usually one for words and as such she was not planning on saying anything before she axe her. However the sudden roar and smashing sound of stone and wood breaking turned her attention. "The fool rammed through it", she spoke aloud in amazement of the rider. Rather than simply fight him Bones decided to take the path of least resistance. If he was willing to smash his wyvern through a house then he was willing to do it again. She might not even have to kill the man herself. She could just let him smash him and his beast to death.
Ignoring the woman Bones dashed past her and moved to the right. "Consider your self lucky", she spoke as she passed. The woman then threw her shoulder into the backdoor of a nearby house and smashed it open. Continuing her trend from last time she moved to go out the front.

Lynessa raised her arms to protect her head from the flying debris. "It's crazy!" she thought. A wyvern pushed through a house like a huge ram or bull, destroying the building easily. Was the fire not enough? Now the town must get demolished by a rampaging wyvern? After the wind from the crash had subsided, the ice dragon looked at the wyvern, taking a step back as a precaution. Most of the defenders might recognize Orys and Balerion as their allies but Lynessa didn't know him because she had stayed in the church when he had come to aid the defenders. Also, his outfit was different from the guards and militias. "Don't tell me....Those bandits brought Wyvern to attack this town? Great! Bandits nowadays are pretty resourceful, aren't they?" she grumbled, staring angrily to the wyvern and its rider.
"What?" Lynessa stared at Bones's back as the brigand got past her, questioning the meaning behind her words. She watched in confusion when Bones rammed a door and went into a building, failing to realize the pink-haired woman's identity. The ice dragon would regret not stopping her later. But for now it might better to do something about this rampaging wyvern. She searched for the rider as she approached. Finding a man on top of the big lizard, she quickly ran to him, believing that Orys was one of the bandits she was searching for. "Stop! Don't destroy the buildings! You made people lose their home!" she shouted, standing in front of Orys and his mount and spreading her arms as her attempt to block his path.
"I won't allow you to go further!"

"All right. That's that. I can't do much else up here, right now, or else I'll give myself a seizure... Longbowmen, fire at will."
Looking out to the west, and the east, Neil saw with satisfaction that the circles were intact. But the west was in a bad way. They'd need to shove the raiders out from the East, rout them, and then bring the majority of the troops to the West.
"Sir messenger. I need you to get three other men. One will go to the Eastern gate. Inform the men that the battle is about to be won. Tell them to fight with vigor and shove the brigands out, for their homes, for their lives, for their livelihoods.
To the western gate, send a message of warning. Tell them to fight with more ferocity, to keep their morale up. Tell them that I will aid them with my crushing darkness. Give them a roar of support.
To the church. Tell the High Guard not to leave, at any cost. Then go find soldiers from the rear lines and the reserves. Form three more bucket brigades, and get those damned fires out now!
And lastly, find the wyvern rider. Tell him that there are more cretins starting fires. Go quickly. Tell him to take care of as many of the fire-starting villains that he can, for the sake of the village."
The shaman nodded, and the messenger ran off, quickly calling three more men, and then all four shot off to do their duty.

Orys tilted his head as he stared down at the woman. She didn't look like a soldier, may just be a local... Or a healer, yes, a healer could be something. She was probably with the village militia and simply did not know about Orys helping them. Still, he was tempted to just knock her down and continue chasing the bandit woman. He spat onto the ground before speaking. "It would have burned down anyways. Now, you want me to stop destroying buildings while chasing this bandit?" He grew a mocking smirk.
"Okay."
With those words he kicked Balerion gently, leading to him stepping back to the ruined house before suddenly leaping into the air, flapping his wings as he then begun to fly away, with Orys keeping his eyes at the alleyways and houses. This woman would die. She would be ended.

"Men have deserted on the East", spoke the bandit leader as he gained word from a messenger. The man bit down on his lip as he knew the remaining boys on that side were going to have problems. "Send the work to our boys to fall back and keep watch on the enemy. After a while they will belive that they have given up and will move the blunt of their forces to our side. Once that happens they are to charge the eastern gate again".
"Understood", spoke the bandit messenger as he was off. The Sharp Bandit leader only prayed that his messenger would get there in time before the bandits were whipped out. The only good news that came from this was from the Skull Bandits. The smoke form their fires could be seen from their side of the battlefield. The enemy was holding ups surprising well despite the fact that part of their city was on fire. Then again the bandit leader was not to happy that they were burning the village without his permission, but at this moment it was the best choice of action.
"Alright onto the next", spoke the Archer as the trio set another house on fire. He made sure to pick off at least one of the bucket brigade before they moved to their next point. From their perspective Bones and Kimble were probably dead. They figured they would have to ignite all the fires across the city on their own. They had already hit their own targets. Now they were swooping around and moving to get some of Bones on the other side of the town.
"Curse that wyvern", spoke Bones as she listen to his beast scream from withing a home. Bones had already dashed out of the house she entered the first time and moved into another one a bit ways down the street. She had yet to set his one aflame as she was using it for shelter from the Wyvern. The rider however was starting to come very annoying and with the add spite of him killing Kimble Bones was far ready to put a axe in his skull. The only real reason she did not try and take him already was because of the Shaman. She knew they had one somewhere around here, but she did not know where. She could end up in a fight with him only to get hit by magic tentacles from behind. It was not a pleasant thought.
"Alright", she spoke as the Wyvern passed over the house. She smashed the oil lamp onto the ground starting a fire and dashed into the alleyway and broke into another home. It was almost like a game of hide and go seek, but the stakes were far greater.
