Vincent gritted his teeth and assumed a stance. The men around them had cleared a circle for himself and the mage woman to do battle while keeping the monsters at bay. This was not for his own justice he told himself. It was simply perfect circumstance. Still, he could not shake the sight of the poor man they beat and forced into submission. Robbed of his welfare in broad daylight and still without justice for such sins.
Prepared to charge his opponent he took a lunging run forth when a shrill cry fell out of the air. A gargoyle pinned by arrows fell between the two. Vincent halted his charge as something strange overcame the beast. Black tendrils seemed to absorb the creature. Then more and more of the gargoyles fell to the same fate. The battle would appear won. It would be a simple task to push back the bandits like this but... it is never so easy.
Soon the ground shook, the was a loud monstrous roaring that filled the air. A sound that would fill even the bravest men with despair. "What was that?" Vincent questioned. What more would that demon send their way? He need not question it long. Soon a monstrosity towering could be seen over rooftops. No amount of effort Vincent had made up to this point could stop many from abandoning their blades and fleeing.
"Blast!" could things get worse!? Vincent relented his post. Looking back at the mage he cursed himself for leaving, but now was not the time for this. "Hold the lines!" He yelled to those left as he made his way to the South.
"We need to stop this thing here and now. If it falls the battle should be won. To that end I will go." Vincent was sprinting and leaping over rubble. It was chaotic but the inner city seemed to be relatively cleared of monsters for now. Or perhaps he simply passed them all by.
