It has passed one month since Ruh escaped prison, only carrying a sword that he stole from a distracted guard during his escape, the thief was roaming around once again, but it seems that his skills were a bit rusty,he was having a hard time cutting purses without being detected, and almost got caught again a few times,it annoyed him,the only thing he is good at and he was failing,he pondered as he wandered across the desert. The desert heat was harsh, thirsty Ruh grabbed his flask and took a sip, when he lowered his head,he saw something in the horizon, what was it?He couldn't tell what was it so he just kept going for a while.
As he slowly approached it became clear it was a village, maybe he could get some rest, make some "profit" and leave before anyone notice,he rushed his pace a bit,not wanting to waste more time on the waste but also trying to not strain himself. When the thief arrived he noticed that the town was awfully quiet, some doors were broken and the houses empty,a ghost town?Either way the thief started to scavenge for anything that he could use.Nothing, only destroyed furniture and torn clothes, annoyed Ruh sighed and headed outside the house he was in."ARGH!Nothing? You gotta be kidding me!"Ruh's rant got interrupted by the sound of footsteps, someone was near, there wasn't any good hiding spots, whoever it was, better be friendly otherwise Ruh would be in a bad position

"It seems my plans have been put on ice", spoke Djoser as he entered into what he thought was a town. The old man was still on his journey to the old capital of Lycia. However he got lost on his way and ended up traveling toward the great desert of Nabata. Once he was here he decided he might as well have a look around the place, at least not make his walking pointless. So the old man walked around the desert just him, nature, and his magic. Still this place was as close to the underworld you could get for Djoser. Their was not a single slab of ice or a shrivel of snow.
Lost and tired Djoser deiced to enter into this town. He wanted to get out of the sun and chill out for a while. However the placed seemed to be completely empty. It was a ghost town, which made Djoser wonder why anybody put a town in this place in the first place. Their was nothing here of value so why place a town here. The second question that came to his mind was why is this a ghost town. Their were only two ways ghost towns formed. The first was if the economy dried up and everyone left and the second was that everybody in the town was horribly murdered, which was a good possibility. Still with no signs of blood or screams in fear Djoser placed his money on the first options.
"Well it is kind of hot today. I better find a spot to cool off before I melt", spoke the old man as he walked up to a random building. Slow and steady he walked in. He made sure to test the floors encase the wood was rotting or if their was a problem with them. Once it all cleared he was more than happy to walk around as if he owned the place.

The thief followed the footsteps sound quietly as possible,it seems the person was treading on wood, probably inside one of the buildings.Ruh eventually spotted the building where the person probably was, stealthily the thief approached it and peeked from a window,an old man was inside, was there someone else with him?Probably not,Ruh would have noticed along the way,but what an old man was doing in a ghost town in the middle of the desert alone? The thief considered cutting the man's coin purse, but again, there wasn't many good hiding spots, and if that old man was alone he probably knew how to defend himself.
Ruh decided to leave the man be,but it seems lady luck was punishing the thief, when he turned around his elbow hit a ceramic vase that fell on the ground and broke,if that wasn't enough he somehow tripped on his cloak and fell on the ground.

"Hmm", spoke Djoser as he heard the sound. The old sage moved his hand to his beard and began to stroke it. "Looks like this town is not on ice yet", he spoke. It was a pleasant surprise to find out somebody was here. Though by the looks of things that person obviously did not live here. No he had to be some fool who stumbled in just like he did. Well their are only two reasons why a person would come to this place. The first is they were looking for water and the second being they were looking for profit. Those two alone could make anybody dangerous. To be on the safe side Djoser pulled out his old trusty Fimbulvet and began preparation to use a spell, however he soon found himself wasting his time. Their was not enough water in the air to make the tome useful in this climate.
"Looks like I have to go back to the light magic", spoke Djoser depressingly as he walked outside the building he was in. It was best not to leave these things unchecked. With his tome in his hand Djoser walked over to the other building. "Excuse me", he shouted as he opened the door. "Would you mind lending me a cup of sugar", he asked. It was mainly a joke, but also a self call back to his childhood. He use to remember when he would visit his neighbors house and ask to barrow stuff. It was usually eggs or maybe a few tea leafs. In return he would give them some mild down the road or some other fruit. The last thing he ever visited his neighbor to get was sugar. It was right before he left to focus on becoming a magician, mage, whatever the youngins call it now.

The old man was holding a tome, probably a mage, and he was asking for sugar...The situation was confusing to say the least,a "Who are you?" or "What are you doing here?" was expected."Sure!Do you want some flour too?"Ruh,sarcastic the way he is couldn't hold his commentaries back,it already got him in a lot of trouble, but he didn't cared,as long the person didn't killed him.Ruh got up fixing his cape,he looked around quickly trying to find any escape route if things got ugly,he didn't felt that anything like that would happen, but luck wasn't in his favor lately.
Ruh took a better look at the old man,he seemed older than Ruh thought he was, maybe being way cautious was too much"Who the hell are you anyways?"Ruh seemed somewhat defensive,he was getting paranoid with his unlucky spree, hopefully it would end soon, right?

"Well I was going to ask for that next week, but I guess if you have any you can give it to me now", chuckled the old man amused with the question. Still he was sure the young whelp had enough of his reminiscence/ joking. "Normally it is the elder who speaks first and ask for names, but since you humored my little joke I will humor your request. My name is Djoser, the sage of ice, the wizard of Blizzard, the Snowman, and you my boy are in my city. Well the city I just laid claim to five minutes ago, but still my city." Amused with himself Djoser moved to the main event of their conversation. "So young one with fine white hair, what would be your name?"
Djoser could not wait to see what snappy line the lad would come up with next. His answer of flour was amusing enough. He was sure the lad was going to comment about his claim on the city or probably about his age. Oh, maybe he might even complement his ice puns. They were so witty it almost made Djoser laugh every time he spoke one of them. Though he has to admit they were pretty useless right about now. In this terrain his spell tome was pretty much useless thanks to the lack of water in the air. Still Djoser carried his title with pride. If he ever found a oasis or a large source of water he would be sure to start kicking out the ice. Who knows with a little work and a few blood sacrifices he might just turn the desert into a winter wonder land. The old started to chuckle to his on inner joke leaving all watching bewildered to the cause.

Djoser was the old man's name, and he seemed to be a joker,Ruh was on the middle of the desert with nothing better to do,why not play along?"Really? That explains the cold reception."The thief placed his hands on his hips and completed"People here need someone to help them out! They only have ragged clothes!"The thief tried to contain his chuckling without much success"I like your attitude old-...I mean Djoser, and answering your question,my name is Ruh,but my father once said that i'm nobody."After that exchange of words the thief was more relaxed.
Still, what brought Djoser to the desert? After all,if he was a ice mage,he would be out of place in a desert"So,Djoser...What brings you here?"He took a few steps towards the old man and walked around him, analyzing the man, trying to pick anything he didn't noticed yet...Yeah,there wasn't much to see,the thief returned to his initial position and folded his arms.

"What brings me here", spoke Djoser as he processed the young man's question. He was determining whether or not to lie to him or tell him the truth. If he lied to him he could save some face, but if he told him the truth he would not have to spend the energy to come up with a good lie and remember it. After a moment Djoser figured it was not worth the effort and decided it would be best to tell the truth. Who knows when he will end up dead. Lying to a young lad is not worth the time or the energy.
"I ended up here because I first got lost and second got curious. I was originally going to Ostia but took a wrong turn at a cooling station. Following the path I ended up close to the desert and from there I went might as well. I always wondered what was down here so I started wondering the desert looking at my surroundings. Then I found this place and laid claim to it. So young one or should I say Ruh. What brings you to this wonderful death trap filled with blistering sun, giant scorpions, cannibal, and probably ancient horrors never seen by the likes of man for centuries."
The old man patiently waited for the young lads answer. It was not every day that you told somebody that you got lost and ended up in a desert, or the fact that the desert the old man got lost in could have horrors that nobody has seen in almost a century. It was a lot to take in at once, and with the add fact that you yourself are inside a desert with such creatures.

It seems that Djoser got lost, his original destination was Ostia, wasn't it destroyed ?And Nabata is far away from the place, not minding the implications Ruh answered the old man"Well,i live on this piece of wasteland called Nabata, truly there isn't much around besides Khan Yunis, but i guess everyone knows that."He paused to take breath"But if you mean what brings me to where i am right now, well i guess you could say i travel around the desert."Of course Ruh wouldn't tell the reason why he travels across the desert,it would be imprudent, and stupid.
"Say,do you really plan on sticking around here or do you plan on keep moving?"Ruh was cooking a plan in his head, offering Djoser his guidance through the desert and taking longer routes so he could make more money"If you need someone to guide you,i'm here,i know this wasteland like the back of my hand."He nodded confidently"But it will cost ya..."he looked at the Djoser waiting for the man to say anything, did he buy it?Ruh had no plan of harming the man, just removing some weight from his wallet, the thief spaced out,he was lost on his thoughts,it has been a while since Ruh had an opportunity like that, anyone watching would see the thief standing with his arms crossed with a grin in his face, noticing that his mind was wandering the thief coughed, and directed his attention back at the man.

Djoser looked at the young lad with a confused expression. "Hey boy are you stupid or are you diz. Did you not hear what I said earlier. I claim this place for myself. That means I am going to be here for a while. So why would I need a guide for the desert. You know that is what is wrong with you young people today. You all never listen to your elders. It is almost as if your brains have been frozen over. Back in my day if somebody told you something you would remember it. If you did not then you would end up getting fined for not following a order or flogged for insubordination. Hmm, I wonder if it is because of the lack in military training. You know about fifty years or so back war was quite popular. Not like it is today. Now people just sit around on their buts and complain about bandits. Bandits this and bandits that. Nobody wants to just go out their and fighting them. No, heavens no, a villager should not be fighting bandits that a soldier's job. Well you stupid villagers if you all took a single weekend to practice fighting over a regular basics you can actually stand up to brigands. That way so many of you won't be dead by the time the real soldiers alive arrive. You think they would listen to the old soldiers who know what they are doing, but nope. They just complain and say that you soldiers job. Our job is to farm. Your job is to defend."
The old soldier was about to keep going, but he soon caught himself. "Oh wait that was not the original question. I got side tracked a bit there." Djoser coughed to clear his throat. "The answer to your question boy is no. I do not need a guide. I came here by myself and on my own two legs and I can get back just as easy. However I plan to see what I can do with this empty village for a while. I want to know why it is empty and if I could restore it back to a proper order. If I am in luck some more travelers will wonder in and find the place appealing. Who knows this could become a good size city in a few years."

"Well,it was just idea,if you are really into making this your own village go on ahead, nobody will hold you back."Ruh chuckled a bit for some reason"Hope you don't mind but i will stick around until tomorrow...He said as he walked around the house"This one will do it..."All that talk got him thirsty,he grabbed his flask and took a long sip"You better have a plan Djoser,or you will end like the previous guy who lived here...Wonder what happened to them, probably left, there are no dead bodies around and the houses are empty...The thief shook his head"Ehhh, not my problem anyways."It wasn't worth the hassle of deducing of what happened to who previous lived in that village, after all it's on the past.

As the young thief walked out the room Djoser dropped his guard. "Man that was a close one", spoke the aged sage as he sat down on the floor indian style. He pulled out his fimbulvetr tome and began to call the spirits of the water, but to his despair only a little moisture formed above his head. "Probably my own sweat", spoke the old man as he consumed the water. "As if I would fall for such a elementary trick", spoke Djoser to himself since he had nobody to talk too. Djoser could tell a thief a mile away. No armor, no overly large muscles, and no axe or lance. What else could the young lad be if not for a thief.
"Oh wait he could have been a dancer", shouted Djoser aloud as a old image poped back into his head. "Wait no, dancers died out ages ago, or at least the ones I remember did. Still what kind of a old fool did he take me for. Who needs a guide in a desert. The lad probably knew as much as I did, there is a lot of sand. At the very least I know how to find water", spoke the sage as he looked at his spell book.
As the old man stared at the book vivid memories began to flash back into his head. He remembered the bandits he fought back in his youth and the burning villages he and his men marched trough. He remembered the pillar of ice he stuck old Crome in during the mountain wars. "Hmm", spoke the old man as he wondered if the bandit's frozen corpse was still up their.
"Nothing similar to this", spoke Djoser as he began to meditate on the village. The old man wondered what truly happened in this town. Everyone was gone. Every man, woman, and child. From his point of view he did not see any struggling or any sign of a disease. If there was work here at one point some of the older people would still be around. Old people are loyal to their towns like that, or at least he would have heard rumors of a bustling enterprise gone bankrupt. However their was nothing here but silence. The village was empty and not a soul in site. Trying to track down whatever cause this would be next to impossible in this sand. Their was only one option left to the old man.
"Time to wait", spoke Djoser as he opened his tome and pulled back in water from the air. Djoser was not going to let a single sweet drop escape his body. This dessert already had enough water.

It was time to rest,Ruh went to the nearest shade he could find, which was a in house not far from where he just left,he laid down and quickly feel asleep. He had a grin in his face, probably dreaming with something nice. That day was rather slow until that point, after all he was in a ghost town with an old man, expecting something exciting to happen was asking too much. The thief got abruptly awaken by the sound of laughter"What the hell is that old man is up to?"Ruh said as he walked to the door, before he could open he saw two men walking outside, they were in brigand armor"This can't be good..."The thief whispered to himself before sticking close to the wall. The door opened slowly,it was one of the brigands,he looked rather surprised for finding someone in that place"Uhm...Good evening gentleman! What brings you to my humble house?"The man had a sinister grin in his face"Look what i found,hehehe..."The man said as he raised his axe,Ruh unsheathed his sword looking at the man with an unamused expression.
The brigand brought his axe down but Ruh was quick enough to dodge the blow, the thief enjoyed the opening in the brigand's guard to counter,he quickly slashed the brigand hitting him in the arm,but it didn't much besides angering the brute"YOU LIL'PUNK,YOU ASKED FOR IT!"The brigands yell could be heard all across the village, reaching his three comrades and Djoser.

Oc" Sorry for waiting so late to post, I got so caught up in everything else I forgot about the topic for a moment.
Djoser sat in the house meditating on what was to come. He expected their to be some unholy abomination that would appear soon and try to take him away like it did the other villagers. Or maybe it was a dragon, a creature out of the pages of legend. Maybe it would swoop down and attack the village trying to get to the last foolish human who dared to inhabit these empty halls. Instead however Djoser got neither of the two. Nope instead he got the standard Bandit.
Djoser realized the bandits were around when he heard one of the fools scream. The dumb axemen did not think that anybody else might be in the town. Though he did feel bad for the youngin being found by a bandit usually did not end happily on both fronts. Djoser wondered if the boy could hold his own. Rising from his comfortable sitting spot Djoser rose up and opened the door.
"Hey play nice you kids", shouted Djoser knowing full well that it probably was a bandit attack. Now that he thought about it. It could not have been a bandit attack. It could be a man fighting with another man who walked up to the village. Djoser just assumed that there were bandits. "Hmm", that is something to think upon."
As Djoser walked toward the sound he caught a gimps of the attacking bandit. After one look Djoser knew he was dealing with bandits. "Well it looks like hell has frozen over, I was right once again", spoke the old man as he pulled out his light tome and sent a beam of light toward the bandit. His goal however was not to do damage to the man, no that was the boy's job. It was just to distract him. The sage shot the glittering light at just the right angel so it would hit the man's axe and shine up into his eyes, temporary blinding him and giving the young lad a opportunity to fight back.
"Now where are the others", spoke Djoser as he began to look around. Bandits were like rats, they always run in packs.

(OoC:No problem man,no need to rush when replying)
The brigand raised his axe again, there was no way Ruh could dodge this time"I had it coming..."The thief whispered to himself as he changed his stance so the damage was reduced. The brigand was taking a while to attack,Ruh looked at him and noticed something happened,he was blinded? The only person who could have done that was Djoser, the thief grinned, the brigand's guard was wide open.Ruh dashed towards the bandit and craved the sword in his chest, the man stumbled back, and with whatever strength he had left he swung his axe at Ruh before falling with his back on the ground. The thief laughed, until he felt something on his chest,he looked down and there was a cut in it"Damn it!Got careless!"The cut wasn't too deep, but wasn't to superficial either,it would get in the way at least of this battle,he tried to wipe some of the blood of before leaving the house. The thief stealthily followed Djoser,Ruh's plan was to attack the bandits while they were distracted with the old man.Why he was helping Djoser with the bandits? To loot their bodies of course, they may not carry to much, but Ruh didn't had much either, and he had no problem bringing their life to an end, they are scum just like himself,or even worst in his eyes,he may steal from people but at least he let people live.
