[Takes places after Walking Dead]
It was quite the...interesting day, to say the least. Not every day that someone got to experience facing those who were already among the dead. Veigue still didn't know what to make of that whole situation, but he was glad that it was one battle he wasn't forced to fight alone. Well, mainly because it was against opponents he's never combated before. If he was used to them, he'd gladly fight a bunch of zombies to the death on his own. But given the close call he had against that larger undead he solo'd (sorta) and if Iadra and Mana wasn't there to help, he'd be in a hospital bed, probably coughing up a lot of blood right now. He got all patched up upon returning to town and...should have been resting anyway, but he decided to get some fresh air and relax outside the Silver Cross HQ. That was at least better than staying holed up in a room, especially when he could walk and talk just fine.
He saw Mana from a distance, though she was a bit away from where he was sitting. If memory served him correctly, the plainswoman said that she was from the Hawkeye tribe...and he still could have sworn he heard of that tribe before somewhere. Being isolated in the area near his old village, Veigue was one of the few sacaeans that didn't know too much of anything about other tribes other than knowing a few by name and overhearing chats about them. A rather poor excuse for a sacaean to not know much about his fellow brothers and sisters of the plains, but given how things have turned out for him thus far, he cared little about such things. Especially since he's not particularly a people person to begin with...meetings like his and Mana's were always rare, after all.
Rather than just sitting by and not giving any sort of far away greeting, Veigue simply waved his arm slightly in the air when Mana would eventually turn in his direction.

Mana's wounds had been treated with healing magic and some ointment, bandages covered several parts of her body too. Although it wouldn't make the pain completely disappear and the swordswoman still had to bear feeling sore everytime she moved, it could be seen in her expression that she was quite grateful for getting out of that nightmare alive. That battle was one of the hardest she had ever had. Monsters or zombies simply weren't something most people could get used to. They had made bandits, ruffians, or soldiers look cute. Not a good comparison but at least bandits showed fear or laughed maniacally, not drooling and growling.
Resting her head against the pillow didn't seem to work well, Mana found herself unable to sleep. Sure she was tired and injured but her condition was stable, also...some tension from the battle was still left. When the boredom of being holed in her room reached its peak, the Sacaen swordswoman decided to get some fresh air and maybe have some social time with her comrades as well. As soon Mana left her room, she could hear laugh and cheers everywhere. The morale seemed high, the men who survived the fight were either celebrating their victory, sharing their battle stories, or honoring the dead with prayer. These men truly deserved appreciation for their deeds. Maybe it wouldn't be too much to believe that they would completely eradicate the monsters in Lycia someday. She might join their victory party later but for now Mana only wanted to get out and relax for a while.
There the girl spotted Veigue taking a stroll just outside the HQ. Veigue...a fellow Sacaen. It was quite rare for Mana to meet another Sacaen outside the plains so she was quite relished to walk and chat with him. After all, they hadn't had much chance to talk before they had departed for the battle. She replied his wave with a smile and waved at him, approaching the silent swordsman casually.
"How are you feeling? I must say I am all sore and tired. The bandages make me feel a bit itchy too." Mana then gave Veigue a strong friendly pat on his back. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt him.....She then shifted her gaze to the sky for a few seconds. "But it isn't a too bad, you know. I mean...we did accomplish something today. The injuries are worth it. That victory cry when the last dead was struck with blade...I still remember it," she said, smiling. Needless to be said, there was a strange but pleasant feeling that came after fighting together with these Silver Cross guys, Veigue, Hadrian, and Iadra. She wondered if her friends shared the same feeling.
"Hey, let me say it before I forget it! You were amazing, Veigue. You handled that big guy alone when I and Iadra struggled against only one opponent." Mana genuinely seemed impressed, her eyes sparkling with admiration for Veigue.

"Still pretty sore myself, but I'm managing quite well." As Mana spoke and gave him a pat on the back, a smile hit Veigue unexpectedly. Something about the young woman reminded him a lot about his sister, Lena. Perhaps it was due to many similarities they shared, like their upbeat personalities. Frankly, it was a little difficult to keep up his usual neutral expression around people like them, which...should be a good thing. Veigue's lucky his face doesn't get stuck from not smiling often. But shaking off the irrelevant thoughts, he could agree with Mana on how the battle turned out and the feeling it left on him as a result. It was a new experience for him, as well as most of everyone who volunteered to fight off the undead.
"...Indeed. When we put our lives on the line like this, we'd never know the outcome until the battle commences. As unfortunate as they are, these wounds also symbolize our victory; that we're still living to fight another day to protect." Yes, just like the scars that are hidden underneath his clothing represent how he's lived up until this point. Many things on a person can tell of their history. "But that feeling of victory earlier was very uplifting. I'm in the same boat as most of you. I've never fought the undead before, and this battle alone taught me many things." Hey, nothing wrong with still trying to better your swordsmanship by killing...dead guys. At least he was still doing it for a good cause and putting them out of their unfortunate misery.
Though Veigue was slightly surprised to hear Mana compliment him in that manner, however, he tried not to show it. He knew how things would have went down due to certain circumstances, so he honestly had mixed feelings about it. "Oh...thanks. But, honestly I was mere moments away from getting disarmed by that big one. If you and Iadra finished off your opponent any later, and if mines didn't get distracted for that second by your approach, I'd likely not even be standing right now. I just took advantage of that opening you gave me, intentional or not. I still never thanked you for that." He couldn't help but be modest, however he spoke the truth. "Honestly though, if I wasn't trained in the Magnus style, that big guy would have likely flattened me much earlier. He was surprisingly quick for a large warrior. But I couldn't help but notice you have an impressive way of fighting as well."

Mana raised a brow when Veigue put a smile in his usually poker face. It wasn't bad, really, just a bit unusual. She felt the swordsman looked better like this. His cool face wasn't bad but this happier and more friendly version was reflected better in the Sacaen girl's black pupil. Adorable! "You should do that more often...I meant that smiling face of yours. You look better like that, maybe a bit more gentle I think," she said as she punching his chest lightly. It was little embarrassing, blurting it like that, but Mana didn't have any motives behind her words, she wasn't flirting. Let just hope there wouldn't be any jealous dragon appear out of nowhere and chew the poor swordswoman.
"Hmm...I am not sure about that. Distracted or not, the big guy wasn't defeated by me or Iadra. Don't be so modest." Mana smiled and let out a short giggle as she stared at Veigue. "I still have a lot to learn but thanks for the compliment by the way. Magnus style, eh? Is that a unique a style from the tribe you come from? I know our people have hundreds different swordsmanship schools but I am not familiar with this Magnus style." It was almost impossible to remember the names of all styles, they were too many. Sacaens were known to have good affinity with sword so it wasn't strange that numerous sword styles had been developed among the tribes. Usually, there was unique characteristics in each schools that made distinguishing them much easier, Veigue's was how he utilized the sheath like his second weapon and Mana's was the fluid movement like a leaf but strong like a storm.
"So, where are your tribe this season? Southern or eastern plains? Oh wait...I heard some of tribes moved to the western plains recently. Maybe one of them is your tribe?" she asked. The girl didn't know that Veigue had some complicated relation with his tribe, this simple question might annoy him, but hopefully he would understand Mana wasn't intentionally trying to stir his anger with the question.

"...Huh. Um, thanks..." Was it actually something to be grateful for? Though he did see her point. Veigue just made it a habit after being exiled to just give up on being happy most of the time. Eventually he lost his ability to genuinely smile unless it just happened out of old habits, like right now. He didn't intentionally want to intimidate people with his looks, though at this point, he might as well say his face was permanently stuck like that. But at the same time, Mana was absolutely correct. He knew that he had to lighten up a bit to make the dread of life a little more tolerable, but...well, he'd just have to say that was a work-in-progress.
Mana still seemed to hold him in high respect over the battle against the giant guy despite still feeling like he didn't properly earn that victory to claim as his own, but he no longer fought with it. However, he wasn't surprised that Mana didn't know anything at all about his fighting style. Despite how much fame...and infamy the technique had received over the generations, he was perfectly expecting her reaction. "Yes, a sword and sheath style focused entirely on high-speed and accurate strikes at vital points. I can't speak much of the details due to them being secret, but it's probably because of that secrecy that not too many, or any at all, know about or remember it existed. I've finally reached mastery, but there's still much more to learn and grow with it." The sword technique was at least one good thing to come out of his family line that he didn't mind discussing.
Though Mana sort of caught him off guard when she asked about his tribe itself. He tried his best to not show too much of a saddened reaction to her innocent question, knowing how...complicated that whole situation was. It was even more difficult because the Magnus was never respected enough to be considered a "tribe", but continued to just be branded as a clan and nothing more. However, there was also no point in lying to Mana when it was just a curious question meant for no harm. The truth of the Magnus' fate was already known public before, and shamelessly forgotten as quickly as they could. Since that truth was already out, there was no point in hiding it, was there? However, he knew that he wasn't going to tell the full story, mainly for both he and Mana's benefit.
"Well, unfortunately...outside my older sister and myself, our tribe was wiped out almost three decades ago, with my father being the only survivor at the time. No one still knows what actually happened as to why and how the slaughter took place, but I guess that information is lost to time now. But right now, my sister and I are the only ones left." He managed to say that in a calm tone, mainly to not make Mana feel bad for asking, which she shouldn't. She, nor anyone for that matter, could have possibly known what happened. And depending on where the Hawkeye tribe was around twenty-eight years ago, they were probably peacefully minding their own business and away from the chaos like almost all of the other tribes did. And who could blame them? Apparently his clan was hated that much. At least the unfriendly residents of his old village were one of the only ones who remembered his clan's existence. And those people hardly, if ever talked to the outside world, let alone their own fellow sacaeans.

Mana nodded as she listened to his explanation. To be honest, she didn't fully understand the difference between Veigue's unique style with dual-wielding. She might feel the difference in the utilization of the second sword, or sheath, but the Sacaen girl had difficulty pointing out what truly separated both styles. Maybe it was because the sheath was less lethal than the blade? Not sure. She would definitely ask him about it later to sate her curiosity, hopefully he wouldn't mind to explain.
And then there came the sad past...
"Aaah...I-I didn't mean to...I was..." Mana was at loss of words when Veigue shared a bit detail about Magnus tribe's fate. That was unexpected response, her question wasn't intended to force him remember those sad facts! Now the girl felt guilty for asking, although Veigue probably hoped she wouldn't feel bad about it.. Seriously...She could understand how bad it would feel when someone asked about the...awful past. Mana knew about it too well, actually. Just like Magnus, fate hadn't been kind to the Hawkeye tribe. "I am sorry," she apologized as she rubbed the back of her head, averting her gaze from the swordsman.
"Well..." Mana seemed wanting to say something but there was something that made her hesitate. Understandable, what she was going to say might be unpleasant for them. Both warriors unexpectedly shared similar tragedy regarding their tribe which intrigued Mana to tell him the truth about her too. Was she seeking consolation or companionship from a fellow victim? Or was she trying to make him feel less alone in this cruel world? The girl would deny those strongly but there might be some truth in those statements. Despite Veigue's attempt to speak in a way which wouldn't make his fellow Sacaen felt bad, Mana had already started to feel awkward. "Actually, me too. I mean...we, Hawkeyes, were raided and slaughtered by bandits." Okay, saying it was harder than it seemed. The black-haired swordswoman sighed before she continued, "That's why I can understand how bad it feels when someone ask about it. I am sorry..." she said.

"It's all right. Really. It was unfortunate that it happened, but I've come to peace with it long ago." He expected her response, seeing as he failed at his attempt at not wanting Mana to feel bad about asking. He'd come off as cold-hearted if he just out and said his clan's demise didn't really bring much grief. He was born five years after the slaughter, so he personally couldn't name any of his passed clan members even if he tried. But he did experience that feeling of not growing up with any relatives or surrounded by lots of positivity. Times like those were only around his mother and sister. He never experienced how it felt to have a huge, loving family. Of how it felt to actually be a part of a group of family members. He understood the concept of tribes and clans, but it was difficult for him know how it felt for someone like Mana who did experience it. But having his mother and sister around helped him cope with that in the past.
...But hearing Mana confess the fate of her tribe as well certainly wasn't something he was expecting either. Guess he just didn't know the Hawkeye tribe was no longer around due to how Mana spoke about them earlier, or how she asked about his own tribe. At the very least, that did help him understand the fellow plainswoman a fair bit more and mostly knew how she was feeling now. Having family taken away by the scum that were bandits was never a good thing. Maybe bandits destroyed his clan too, but he'd never know the culprit. "...I'm sorry to hear about your tribe as well. I know it must not have been easy for you. I should be the one to apologize, as I know that's not something anyone would like to remember." Yeah...he had a feeling Mana was closer to her tribe than Veigue was to his own.
"...It's a sad thing to have in common. Times like that are unforgettable, but I believe the memory also remains there to help give us that push we need to keep going...not just for our own survival, but living our passed family's share as well. And I'm sure your tribe is quite happy to see you continuing to live as they watch from above in the skies." Veigue was aware of what he said could have been potentially too sensitive, but he had a feeling that Mana may have needed to hear something like that if she hadn't before. He was at least trying to place her in a better mood. He didn't know if he'd be successful, but he thought he'd at least try.

"It's okay really. I am the one who brought up this unpleasant topic anyway." Mana wasn't sure what to say. Veigue seemed trying to put some consolation words to appease her but she actually felt he didn't need to go that far. He was even apologizing! This made the Sacaen girl feel more awkward. She was the one who brought up this unpleasant topic, after all. "It's all in the past. I've accepted it, I think," she added. That wasn't entirely true. Mana might have not grieved to much over the loss but she still harboured anger and vengeance deep inside her heart, a small darkness within her pure soul.
"You surprisingly are quite good with words, you know...Somehow your words makes me feel a little better," Mana said, sighing with relaxed expression. Living for their share, huh? That sounded nice, indeed. What Veigue had tried to convey might bring her to tears if he phrased it wrong and chose wrong words but this time he had succeeded making a nice consolation sentence. At least Mana didn't seem too gloomy anymore. "Well, that's what I always want to do...Living for their share...That sounds nice, isn't it?" The girl thought most of her grief had been taken out by Wyatt and Elias but it seemed it wouldn't easily disappear, only the magic of time would be able to erase this uncomfortable feeling completely. "Thank you, by the way. By the way, I hope you, too, are having good life for them. Oh, and especially for your sister..." Mana almost added '...your last family member...' to that sentence but she decided to refrain from saying it. She wouldn't want the atmosphere surrounding their conversation to turn gloomy again.
Seriously, this kind of talk wasn't really suited for the occasion where they were celebrating something so Mana was thinking to change the topic. "So, where is your sister now? I guess she isn't travelling with you? Well, maybe it's best if she doesn't actually. You look like the type who like to jump into dangerous place...although I must admit I am more or less often involved with danger." she said. Okay, it actually was't too far from the topic of family or tribe but at least this change wouldn't bring up another unpleasant memories, probably. "What? You think I am wrong? Have you forgotten we fought undead for free?" she said again, laughing.

"..." He was good with words? If that came from someone he hardly knew, Veigue would have been quick to prove that false. But...he already knew that Mana was the type of person who spoke honestly. Given the nature of the conversation though, that wasn't really the time to think on such things anyway, Veigue simply nodding his head with a light smile. If he managed to help brighten the mood for her just a little bit, then he was satisfied with that. Sometimes, it was both a curse and a blessing having the ability to just speak out whatever came to mind. At least this time, it didn't result in him getting a blade rammed into his stomach. Well...not like Mana would do that, but other people probably would if they didn't like the way he talked.
It was strange though. As he tried to make her feel better, that seemed to help himself a bit as well. He always wondered what his other family members were like...well, the ones that were actually pure at heart. He already heard enough of people disrespecting the so called "disgraceful ones". But the ones that were apparently pure, he wondered how his relationships with them would be, and it was unfortunate that he'd never know. But if he could just continue to live their share, it didn't feel so bad. There wasn't anything he could do to change their fates even if he could go back in time, but seeking out a good future for himself would do his passed family a huge service.
Though as Mana seemed to want to switch topics, he wasn't too surprised she'd mention Lena. Mana throwing in her playful comments was amusing though, however...she wasn't really lying either about him being a danger magnet. "...Heh. Well, my sister and I had been separated for nearly a decade, but we crossed paths not too long ago, only to part again almost immediately. Honestly, I don't know where she is exactly. However, she still seems to be the high-spirited sibling I grew up with. So wherever she is, I'm sure she's happy doing whatever she's involved with." Though the part he intentionally left out was best left that way. The fact that his sister got steaming mad at him before they parted ways again was something he was trying to forget about...hoping that the next time they meet, it wouldn't result in her wanting to punch him again. He wasn't mad at her, after all.
"Actually, you and her are a lot alike in many ways. Your similar sense of humor, for an example." Veigue couldn't help but smirk slightly, though not too sure how Mana would react to the jest.

Mana couldn't help but felt a bit jealous that Veigue still had his sister, but this sad thought was quickly dismissed by the Sacaen girl. She had gone past that depressing thought, there wouldn't be any good in questioning what if things were different and her parents were still alive. All that needed to be done now was to live for their sake, just like the silent swordsman had stated before. "Well, I hope she is happy and healthy. But you know...I won't pry into your problem too much but I think you should at least keep in touch with her, maybe with letters or something else. She might be worried if you don't contact her for long time. That's just a friendly suggestion, by the way." Mana didn't know the reason why Veigue and his sister parted but she felt great need to push him to have better relation with his sister. She didn't know that the sibling didn't part nicely so her comment was based on assumption that they had warm relationship.
"Alike? Haha...Are you serious?" Mana said, smiling. The swordswoman crossed her arms and closed her eyes as she imagine how Lena would look if she was truly similar to her. Maybe they shared similar appearance and clothing? Veigue didn't clearly state whether the similarities were about their look or about their traits, though. "Oh come on...you have made me wanting to meet her, you know. I wonder if we are truly alike or you are just teasing me." Although Mana wasn't sure why, she felt a bit embarrassed by Veigue comment. "But please...don't start seeing me as your sister now. I am not prepared to have a brother," she said again, ending her joke with a chuckle.
A waitress approached the two Sacaens with a tray full of glasses and a few bottles and offered them drinks. Mana didn't really pay attention when she extended her hand to get her glass, picking a glass of beer instead of juice and emptying it in a few second. The back-haired girl had low resistance to alcohol so she would get drunk fast. For now, she was still sober but soon she would lose her mind. "Strange, this juice tastes a little bitter! Well, it isn't a bad taste, though..." she remarked.

Well...that was true, at least. Veigue never really did much of a good job in writing to Lena. In fact, he never wrote a single letter to her since the exile. However, he had no idea where she was, or if she was in a place where she could easily receive mail. However, he just never could work up the nerve to even attempt to write a letter. It was mostly out of just not knowing what to say, and he knew that his sister suffered just as much as he did. She gave him her blessing before they parted those years ago, but...perhaps he was just afraid that she didn't want to see or hear from him anymore after all that happened and the time that passed by without contact. And their reunion in Ilia was both one of joy and flared tempers during the family feud, which didn't exactly help with that worry of his. So in the end, he just found it unnecessary and just wished for the best on Lena's path that she's taken for herself, whatever it may be.
But Mana didn't need to hear all of his internal blabbering coming out his mouth, so he just opted with agreeing with her. "...I hardly write letters, but you're right. I'll have to get in touch with her somehow." Well...it wouldn't hurt to send one letter when he had a chance alone to sit down and relax. All he just had to do was hope that it would reach her wherever she was. That is, when he could summon enough nerve to finally write one to her. But the mood was lighting up once more as Mana seemed to have been taken a bit off guard with his comment, smiling slightly as he really wasn't trying to tease her or anything. But it was amusing.
"Well, I'm actually serious. I mean, you and my sister don't look exactly alike, but when we first met, you did seem to resemble her a bit. But I really meant towards your personalities. If you two met one day, I'm sure it'll be...interesting. But do not worry. I've got my hands full with one sibling already. I'm not sure if I'm prepared to have another sister either." Well, the jest was more apparent in his last sentence, chuckling a bit as he looked away for a moment. Though Veigue had to be sure that if the two did meet, he needed to be as far away as possible. Lena would no doubt find some way to embarrass him and then he'd be feeling all awkward.
"Uhhhh..." ...Though Veigue had to raise his eyebrow as Mana grabbed the beer. Huh...didn't take her for a drinker, but when she said juice, he had a preeeeeetty good idea as to what really happened. Well, thankfully he picked the right choice of beverage he wanted, but Mana already kinda got started on her drink. Uh, was he supposed to say something? Alcohol was only dangerous when one drank quite a few glasses, so maybe it wouldn't hurt her? Still, guess that just meant he needed to keep an eye on her in case she picked the wrong drink again. He wasn't sure what he would do if Mana went drunk...she was already gulping down a bit of it. Ah, he should tell her, but Veigue didn't exactly know what to say. "Hey, you're drinking beer, not juice!" sounded a bit rude, so he wasn't going to say that. Curse his inability to socialize well...

"This is good! Give me another one!" Mana was oblivious about her mistake and casually grabbed another glass. She picked the same drink again and gulped it down passionately. It tasted bitter and strange but this new flavor was somewhat delicious and addicting. Since the girl had her first glass, she had begun to feel her chest getting warmer and lighter.
Mana then remembered something and turned her attention to Veigue. "Oh, by the way...Do you get the invitation to officially join this guild? Some of the people who fought with us tried to make me join me, you know. And to be honest, an old friend of mine, the one who request my help for today battle, has been quite annoying with his relentless persuasion," she said, sighing and making exhausted face. Mana would help the guild or anyone who wanted to make Lycia free from monsters but she preferred not to be bound by the commitments coming from official membership. After all, she had a plan to return to Sacae and stay there for a long time. "I guess you are leaving tomorrow? You don't look like the type who belong to a guild, I think. Well, I might stay here for two or three days before I return to the plains. I am in no rush but I have a lot of work waiting for me in home..."
The Sacaen girl shook her head when the dizziness finally came. She blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes when the scene before her began swaying. Actually, it wasn't her surrounding moving or something, she was simply getting drunk and it disturbed her sight. Her cheeks flushed and she was having difficulty to stand straight. Lying on the floor suddenly seemed like a good idea...no,no...it would be better to wait until there was a real bed for her to lie down.
"Say...What do you think about returning to Sacae with me? I can use a companion in my return trip, you know..." she asked, still keeping a little control of her body and mind.

Well, that went almost exactly as he feared. Veigue didn't know what to do now, as Mana sort of went to that point of no return after taking that second tall glass. Even if he did tell her about it, the taste probably had her hooked by now. Though he probably still had a chance to stop her before she got too deep into the beverage before she ended up getting really drunk. Veigue wasn't sure how he'd handle things if she went out of control, and seeing what alcohol did to people, it affects their actions differently depending on the person. And with the victory over the undead earlier, there were most certainly others who were already full of liquor at this point, though things hadn't gotten crazy yet. He didn't know why, but he had a little strange premonition that something weird was going to happen soon.
But Mana surprised him as he began talking normally again. It didn't seem to be affecting her that much so far, but he noticed the subtle hints that she wasn't going to last too long. However, he put that aside for now as he went along with the conversation. "Yeah, I've received an invitation as well. But it's as you say, I don't like to be bound to a guild, or even a small group. We've all got our own paths to follow, after all...and I'm no different. Being bound to the laws and commitments of a guild would only hold me back." Though the part he left out was that he was still a wanted man. A guild certainly wouldn't like the idea of a grudge-bearer attacking them all the time just to get back at Veigue.
Well, now that just sounded depressing. But what he spoke of was true. He rarely relied on others towards anything in general, and while Nayru was an exception, it wasn't his style to fall in a group. He was more of a freelance helper than anything, which would differ slightly from the mercenary work he used to undertake. He'd also get sloppy if he relied too much on a group's assistance. That wasn't to say he didn't appreciate help if he received any, but he firmly believed that solving one's own problems was better than burdening others with it. Veigue was well aware that he was the only one capable of helping himself, and as much as he wanted to prove that false in the past, he had to accept it in order to move on and survive. The difficulty on his path served only to further strengthen his resolve and endurance, if he is capable of it.
"I'll probably be sticking around for a little while, too. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm not exactly at 100% strength yet. But if you need company on your trip, I don't mind. I'm meeting back up with a friend in Sacae soon, so we're going both ways anyway." Yeeeah, a huge wound on the chest and injuries elsewhere wasn't going to heal over night. He wished they did though. However, just as he said that, Mana didn't seem to be looking too good as he saw her shake her head and looked as if she was ready to keel over. "Um...Mana? Are you feeling okay? You had quite the lofty amount of drinks there..."

Somehow Veigue had multiplied into two...three....wait four??? It must be some kind of trick!! Mana rubbed her eyes and then stared at the fellow Sacaen. Well. nothing changed...for some reason he still had two or three twins now.
"I'm fine...I guess...Just feeling tired probably..." Mana realized that Veigue seemed to notice something strange with her, although she missed his comment about her drinking. The girl was unaware that it was caused by her "juice" so she casually took another sip as she spoke to him, "It will be great to have you in my trip to Sacae plains. Traveling alone can be boring and troublesome sometimes." And then she took another sip. Okay...it was going worse. "I have a friend who accompanied me in my travel and we have been quite inseparable since we met but that guy is still...lets just say he isn't in the good condition for long trip now." True, having used with travelling together with one or more companions, made travelling alone somewhat unpleasant. Of course he had wanted to come with her but it wasn't possible. Besides, although the man could definitely take care of himself in battle, Mana didn't want to burden him until he recovered. Thanks to her already reddening cheeks, it helped to hide the fact that she was blushing when talking about her "friend". Mana took her eyes off Veigue and switched her attention to the heated crowd, mostly because she was feeling a bit embarrassed by what she had said.
"It's not I don't like being here in a guild or group, I simply want to be free. To be honest, I won't stay long in Sacae either. There some things I need to take care of but after I finish those things I will move to another place...probably Ilia." Mana wasn't sure if she would have thought like this if her tribe was still exist. Most of her reason to roam free came from the fact she barely had any attachment to a tribe or group. Well, she would jump in to help if her homeland was in trouble but it wasn't something she overly concerned with. Sacaens were strong people so they would be fine without her, also...Kenshin was there so Sacae would be safe. "I am aiming to be the best warrior someday. I guess we are a rival then," she said. Veigue might feel a bit surprised that this topic came suddenly. Anyway, Mana had selfishly declared him as her rival because she had deemed him worthy for such acknowledgement.
The glass slipped off her hand and fell to the floor as her mind went blur. This small incident seemed to go unnoticed by the partying crowd, though. "Uugh, my head hurts..." Mana groaned weakly as she slammed her head against the table. "Maybe I got hit in head or something in today battle..." she added. The girl looked at the crowd who were dancing in middle of the hall. It looked fun despite the music was kinda off.

At least she still maintained a sane mind. While Mana didn't seem to touch a drop of alcohol until now, she held a decent tolerance for it. Wouldn't last long if she kept it up, though. Perhaps moving the conversation along like normal could help alleviate the throbbing pains of those drinks coursing through her blood and mind. When the waitress brought another serving of drinks, Veigue made sure to double-check his own, in case he grabbed the wrong drink, too.
He sipped on his water as he listened to Mana speaking on traveling and the unnamed friend of hers. He seemed important to her, Veigue noting the impressiveness of her being able to express her companionship for the individual despite her disorientation, albeit subtle. He found himself comfortable with traveling alone until his faithful encounters during the recent times. The feeling of wandering the continent in aimless determination as a lone wolf began to settle as a foreign feeling — he wandered for purpose now, and with company, to add.
"Yeah, we're headed in the same direction, so I don't see the problem in setting out. These days, it's dangerous to travel alone. I learned that the hard way," Veigue said, recalling his early memories of being thrown into the world too early, "But it's good that you've already got a companion for regular travel; one close, at that. Bonds should always remain in tact, no matter how far away from each other you are."
He didn't know why the two were separated, and judging from Mana's words, said friend seemed to be suffering from some kind of illness or injury. It wasn't his place to pry, and Veigue was one to mind his own business, so he avoided going on any further for her sake. He opted for setting his attention on her plans for leaving this place instead; his ever-growing discomfort of the partying atmosphere getting to him before shaking it off.
Veigue took another gulp of his drink before speaking again. "Sacae seems to offer short visits on my end. I just go wherever the wind directs me on the journey ahead, but I'm definitely not staying here any longer than necessary. I'm assuming you have business to tend to in other corners of Elibe as well, yes?"
Though Veigue worried if Mana could catch most of that, witnessing the impact of her head to the table in pain. Perhaps he waited a little too long to let her know straight up what was going on, leaning over a bit so she could hear his incoming words better; hopefully.
"I probably should have said something earlier, but I figured you knew what you were drinking. Doesn't seem like the case, so..." Veigue paused as his eyes dimmed, "You've been consuming a lot of beer. You might want to lie down or something."
He wasn't sure on how drunk she was. Maybe she didn't drink enough to cause her serious damage and she'd be able to tough it out, but only one way to find out. Whenever he'd grab her attention, Veigue held his hand out in front of him, moving up three of his fingers.
"How many do you see?" He asked. Veigue wasn't very good at help people who were intoxicated, but he was willing to try.
