They're all the same, something that's annoying, but necassary. Look at my stat growth comment for the exact details. Personally, I think we should act our class. Meaning, my defense is not as high as just about everyone elses, and my res isn't fabulous. My speed on the other hand...

I don't think you die in this game, that's why I'm wondering what the Vulnerary does...
I think these stats just determine basically what your abilities are, so if you rarely post, you get low stats so you can't exactly beat the boss.

I think one of them mentioned using the stats to help with char/char fighting... though I really don't see that happening. On second thought (remembers Matthias) it could very well be needed.

It's in the 'Battle Rules' section I think... it says basically that if someone has a higher post than you, you can't defeat them >__>

Vulneraries are used for "a second chance".
You see, you're fighting, blah, blah, blah. You HAVE to make yourself hit by the enemy, so, your character gets damaged.
Say, an enemy attacks you, and hits you on the leg so hard, you can barely walk.
A friend is nearby, he hands you a vulnerary, and you have your leg as good as new.

You start of with a vulnerary btw...
I wouldn't buy a vulnerary myself, though, I would rather promote and get a free heal staff... I can then heal everyone, apart from myself.

I wonder who would want to be a cleric/preist/troubador.

I like Troubadours! Valkyries are also very good! Just their stat caps are bad...
It's better to play as a character with the ability to fight anyways. Or else you couldn't do much unless someone says they were wounded...
Anyways you get promotion by earning money and you earn money by posting in Elibe, so Troubadours can be easy to level up.

So do I, pricilla owned. But you can't really staff abuse in this. (IE. heal every wound, no matter how small) Usually Serra is first to promote for me (around lvl 14 after lyns mode) <_<

Lundgren abuse?
Priscilla pwned! She was held back by her stat caps though.
And about the Staff abuse thing. You can promote any time as long as you have the money and you don't get money by healing. You get money by posting in Elibe, so even if I chose a Trobadour and I never healed once in the game I could still promote.
