Observation of Doogs
Journal,
OOOOH Journal i'm so upset. I finally got a chance to show off the academy that I am not just dead weight. They gave me a job to so. A task. To hunt down some Mauthe Doogs that were hunting on the fringes of the Eutrian Border. I managed to get a few flyers posted up. And by I, I mean the academy's version of a flyer. Managed to get a handful of mercenaries and a healer to join us. Everyone got paid. The caravan was loaded. Everything was going to plan. Except.. Except for the weather. Journal it rained. It poured. It made terrain extremely difficult. And we as a group could not even get to our destination. Which is sad. Since I did so much research preparing for the job too. Well whatever. Live and learn right? What sucks is that those doogs are still going to run around and kill people.
Dancing Dead
Journal,
Visited Ostia. And it's a hell hole. It's a literal hell hole. The volcanic eruption left the earth charred black. The water has been compromised. The air is thick with smoke and ash. I have to make a mental note to the academy to come out and take samples. It's odd. Most areas that receive sediments of volcanic ash are actually very fertile. But here.. Everything is dead. The rare tuft of green grass pops out of the earth, but only on the areas that are... no were furthest away from the initial blast zone. I've had to wear my full on body cloaking gear just to get around. OH YEAH. And this place is infested with the living dead. There are a handful of small villages just barely hanging on. These villages are .. how to I put it.. uhm.. Unsanitary? Something reminiscent of the slums. Given the state of Ostia I am surprised that people manage to live here. Ostia is home to several roves of monsters. But the most common are the living dead. Wights and bone-walkers. Quite literally they are the skeletal remains of former humans brought back with one purpose. These bone walkers kill other humans and animals. They are led by a wight. At least.. these ones were. Which is odd. Are they following the wight's orders out of some sense of duty of their former lives? Or are they following other.. unseen orders. Also Bone walkers and wights don't seem to have anything on them that generates magic. Meaning there is like.. nothing on them that shows you where they are getting their reanimated powers from. I nearly died. If it were not for Oya and Yorick I would be dead. Oh right I should probably write about them
Yorick- Is awesome. She's a strong fighter from the Western Isles. Fluent in many weapons. And I do mean MANY weapons. I wish I had some of her attitude.
Oya- A pirate. He's got a unique axe called Xigshaw. It's a magic axe that only responds to him. I wonder what the mechanism for it is. Anywho. He's cool.
The Ashes of the Phoenix
Journal,
Crazy stuff happened. What started as a simple day in a little village in Lycia ended in chaos. For starters I was delivering a letter to the local lord. After that I was given permission to observe his private library. There were a ton of really rare books that you do not see at the academy. I managed toSteal ACQUIRE a rare medical book. Well so I was just there in the library reading. Next thing I knew there was a raid. I hid behind a book case. And over heard a conversation. Some sort.. a group of assassins snuck in. The lord Died and the blame was pinned on one of his body guards. A young man by the name of Vincent Clark. Now I over heard everything. So I ran out to try and help Vincent. Poor guy. He got dragged off by two guards and was sentenced to die. So I had to pull an impromptu jail break. It ended up with the entire jail being set to flame. Totally my fault. I panicked. We pulled a run off to a cabin in the woods to avoid the guards. An assassin by the name of Near helped with the escape. Apparently he was a friend acquaintance of Vincent.
Near helped. A lot. I left them in the cabin sometime during the night. I wanted to get as far away from the town as possible. I made sure the guards didn't get a good look at my face since I had my hood and mask on.
Vincent Clark- A mercenary, with white hair. Apparently has a brand on his wrist which ties him to his weapon Phoenix Heart. If I had the time I would have asked him a TON of questions. His brand was glowing too. I wonder...
Near- An assassin. Apparently on ..some terms with Vincent. He's a gentleman and likes to talk. Which is rare for Assassins. Then again.. I haven't met that many assassins. Carries a lot of knives and has a rope with a grapple.

Journal,
Bad news. Upon my return to Etruria I learned I needed to flee the Academy city. It seems the Academy is now under the thumb of the prophet (not just paying lip service) and they have placed severe restrictions on monster research. Which affects Me. Under Old Man's Sam advice I have decided to leave Etruria. I need to make several preparations before fully leaving. I also need to pay a visit to "uncle" in Taras. Oh.. gods.. that.. will be an experience. I've been sending letters to his guild. And he's been replying. Were on good terms. But still it's "uncle", and you and I both know how he is. Sucks that he hasn't heard from Duma since he left. Stupid Brother of mine.
