How far will the arrow fly? [PM for entry]

Kyle slowly walked into the camp just as the sun began to peak over the hills to the east, spilling its warming, amber glow across the plains. The warmth was welcomed by his weary body. It had been a few days of trekking after the bandit ambush at the resting post out in the middle of nowhere. He hated bandits. They were so unorganized in their methods and they got themselves killed so often. They reminded him so much of Orcleous. Disgusting. But he needed to let those thoughts go for now. Now he was with his people.

Even though he was tired, his muscles flexed as he brought his back to be straight so that he stood at his full six feet and two inches rather than being hunched over from lack of sleep. His eyes were heavy as he felt the sleep batter against his will to stay awake. It wasn't easy going multiple days with little sleep, and keeping alert to the dangers of the plains. It was so much stress on him, he was quite due for a nice sleep; Hopefully he would get one soon.

He looked around the camp as he began to notice the sounds and signs of movement, the people here seemed to be waking at sunrise to go about their daily tasks; A quite efficient way to work. He already liked it here. Kyle began to sluggishly meander around, catching glances from a lot of the people around the place. None of the looks were kind, most of the onlooking faces were void of any visible feelings although a few of them showed suspicion and much more hostile emotions. He felt even more isolated than normal here. He just needed to find the Woman his dad told him to find, but all he had was a name and a sketch. . . Where to look? He thought as he took out the scrap of parchment with the bust on it.

Kyle stared at the parchment, his thumb running softly over the roughly etched in lines as he let out a small sigh. This place, as temporary as it may be in its foundation, maybe even in his life, it was. . . he couldn't even think about it at the moment, he needed a place to rest. Maybe there would be an inn like building somewhere, or most likely he would have to find someplace to nap on his own. And he knows exactly how well sleeping in strange places can work out, and he almost always gets the broken arrow in the deal. A group of bandits out of nowhere. Bah. He'd be safe here, hopefully.

He stopped in the middle of the main path, the activity of the area starting to pick up even more as others began to walk about the path and go about their daily activities. His gaze was drawn around as he scanned the area for a suitable place to rest. He spotted a nice looking area quite soon in the form of a tree a little bit out of the way among the cluster of semi- permanent dwellings.

More and more people seemed to be walking out of the tents, from what he could see there were hundreds of people now, as he made his way over to the tree, hopping up and grabbing a low lying branch and pulling himself into the trees. He climbed a few more branches high, ending up a little bit above the building line, but not nearly at the height of the watch towers that were manned with armed personal. He wondered why he only just now noticed them, or why he wasn't stopped upon entering, Guess the place was okay with others if they don't cause any trouble. But who would want to cause trouble with a bunch of fierce looking armed men strolling about?

After his quick glance around Kyle settled at a convenient part of the tree where a large branch split in two close to the trunk of the tree and remained close as it grew out, providing a sturdy place to rest. He removed his pack from his back and set it on his lap as he got comfortable, letting his eyelids slide close as he hugged his pack tight. The sun kept rising in the sky, the minutes passing on, as Kyle napped peacefully in the shade inside the safety of the tree's leaves.
