There it was. Bee did not think Aeos had it in him, but he could be just as stern as any other adult. He reminded her of her smiting teacher. He would always scald her for staring to long into the fire or simply sitting around the flames. Fire is to be used as a tool and nothing more, he would say. He never saw the beauty in the flames only the power. Aeos was similar, but a different issue. Bee was so preoccupied with wondering about the flames that she not only insulted Aeos, but was being insensitive to his injuries. Aeos had just awoken from his slumber. Not only did she change his hair, which was hilarious, but she also bombed rushed him with questions. It was not polite of her to do so. If her mother was still around she was sure she would scald her for that.
"Sorry about that Aeos", spoke Bee as she rubbed the back of her head. The maiden could see that he was trying to organize his thoughts, or at least that is what she thought. It was then that Bee realized that she got some of her hair gel on her hand. Using the white snow around her Bee washed it off as she turned back to listen to Aeos words. It seemed the fact that he was a dragon was dangerous. Bee could understand that. Dragons were suppose to be long dead, but now one has turned up. People like Bee would not have a problem with it, well as long as they were nice, but others might take offense to it. Bee could guess all of Bern would suddenly rise up and try to smite any dragon they came across. Bern was founded by the hero Hartmut. She figured they would hate dragons worse of all even more since Bern is truly dragon land.
"I don't think you are a demon", spoke Bee throwing her little two cent in. The young girl was trying to get back into Aeos favor. He was still one of the few people Bee considered to be a friend. Even if he was a dragon it did not bother her any. Though she felt like he was going to be angry at her for a while. Calling him a super Wyvern was a bad idea. It all just seemed to flow out. Bee never really thought about what she was going to say. She always seemed to blurt things out. As soon as it was formed in her head it exploded out her mouth. It seemed that it had finally burned her. Aeos looked angry.

Renoir stood silently, shifting his weight over to his left side as he folded his arms, cocking his head slightly to the side. His eyes were empty, unimpressed, which was poorly reflective of how he felt inside. He was terribly interested, but rarely ever showed physical manifestations of how he was feeling. He didn't flinch an inch, or even bother moving, as Aeos fought for control of himself. Renoir raised an eyebrow.
So, that was the truth, then? Elemental beasts? They could breathe fire, wind... What else? Shoot electricity from their mouths, freeze water crystals around them in the form of ice breath? What was next, Renoir thought, dark pulsing auras from the dragon's nose? Could they manipulate the weather, too? Could they do anything? Surely not, the man thought. If they could, they wouldn't have remained secrets for that long... Could they?
He ignored Aeos' comments about not creating literature; of course he wouldn't write anything, and there was no need to tell the man that he wouldn't. He just wouldn't, and everything would stay the same. But the experiences would stick with him. Now he knew what dragonkin could do. And it was something to marvel at. This was beyond military might. Dragons could rule the world easily, should they desire to. The thought of such raw, unchecked power made him smile a bit. What a world they lived in.
Renoir completely ignored Bee's comments. "Yes." He said plainly, a flat tone, no amusement in his voice at all, yet the sultry sweet sound of his silver tongue came through nonetheless. "Demons." He didn't flinch as Aeos' other half lashed out at him. He remained still, arms folded across his chest. "Killers of men and women, ravagers of nations and the most destructive force in the universe. Evil of a kind so fierce, they invented weapons to slay you."
He cracked a slight smile, unfolded his arms, and walked towards Aeos unafraid. "At least... that's what the legends say." His look softened, and he offered the man a hand as he began to stand. "But I'm of the kind to trust what I see over what I read. Anyone can write a book, you know," he winked at Aeos, then turned away from him.
"Either way, I suppose I can say I've debunked a legend now. You don't seem that vicious." His body turned away form Aeos, Renoir cocked his head back and locked eyes with the man. "Though I don't doubt your ability to kill whatever it is that you want. I just hope I'm not on the list."

He kept his eyes closed as he tried to stabilize himself. He realized he was wrapped in a cloak that wasn't his own. He assumed it was Renoir's as the cloak carried his scent. Scent? He thought to himself. He tried to cut himself off from the power of his stone. It felt like he was cutting himself off from air. He could feel his senses reverting back to "normal" the pain in his head starting to dull. He could feel his heart rate lessen. It was a this point that he realized the others were still talking. He had missed most of it except that Bee did not think him a demon. Well good. He sat himself back down into the snow. My throat is so dry. He found himself slowly showing handfuls of snow into his mouth. The cold felt good for some reason even though he was shivering a moment ago. Then Renoir said something that irked him. He called him a killer of men, women, destroyer of nations, and beings of pure evil. His eyes opened again this time fully stilted and the tiny fangs poking his mouth.
But the man did not flinch. He expression shifted and his words softened. He seemed to understand that legends are legends.
"...I try not to be viscous. But like all creatures oft the world we have urges. Needs. Instincts. As a hunter th..thou could sympathize. To hunt to eat. It it.. is all in a grander scale to a dragon. At least for me. I've only met two more of my kin in my life.. and they were different. One whom frightened me and the other whom befriended me." He was starting to come back around to himself. It was a slow process.
"H..history is written by the survivors. The truth is embellished to favor said survivors. Blood hast been split on both sides. You cannot speak of what you saw. Neither oft you. Too dangerous." His voice was loud enough for both to hear. He held his forehead.
"So long..as you.. do not to anything.. to provoke me. I will not kill thee. I.. have been raised to harm only in defense." Defense? The other part of him mocked. We are the king of the mountain. He wished he could find some way to mute the other part of him. We are king of nothing. Stop saying that.
"I.. must not be near people. Something.. happened last night that did not happen before. I.. shall linger with thee.. until I am off the mountain. Then leave thy company." I need answers. Training. Meditation. More sleep. SOMETHING.

"Wait, hold on a second", spoke Bee as she began to digest what Aeos was saying. Apparently he had just gained the powers that Bee had seen. So Aeos could not always turn into a dragon, or he could not always shoot the blast of wind. Bee was not sure which was which, but she did know there was something that concerned her. The way Aeos talked. It was as if they could not see each other anymore. Aeos spoke as if this was the last time. It was true that Bee did not really know where Aeos was and he did not know where she was, but if they meet on the road they were friends. It was a simple understanding. However the way Aeos was speaking it seemed as if they friendship was over. He was talking about killing her. Bee never thought that Aeos would ever harm her. That is why she was so calm when he transformed or simply threw off his words when he spoke about his wind powers.
"Hold on Aeos are you saying that we can't be friends", spoke Bee as she looked at the dragon. Her eyes were filled with desperation as she looked at her only friend. "I know I said some mean things by not saying you were a dragon, but I was not trying to insult you or anything. It just popped into my head. I did not mean to hurt your feelings or mess up your hair", spoke Bee as she began to look away. Wow Bee was being a horrible person to Aeos today. Not only did she insult him but she also ruined his hair. That was like a sin amongst sin in her book. Aeos had plenty of reasons to dislike her, but he was the more mature member of there duo. He could forgive her, right.

Renoir listened more intently than before as Aeos spoke about himself, about this other half of him that truly was inhuman, something in him that craved animalistic desires. It made sense-- dragons were animalistic in a sense. Well, likely in more than one sense, though they were far more powerful and far smarter than the average animal. Renoir placed his hands on his hips as Aeos spoke, slowly nodding occasionally, as if he understood what it was like to be a dragon.
"Well," he began, a smile on his face. He looked down the mountain pass, away from the two. "History is written by those who aim to curry favor or support. I'm not of that kind." He turned his body, heading down the way towards the pass on which they had traveled up. He figured as early as the morning still was, the group still had time to travel down the mountain and part ways. As interested as he was, it would probably be better, Renoir assessed, to part ways here. The dragon was obviously weak, and for fear of provoking it futher, Renoir would stop, perhaps accost him another time, should they ever meet again. He half hoped they did. He had dreams of hunting a dragon, but he would never tell Aeos that. The archer had more brains than that.
The young man turned his head back to them. The wind was picking up again. "Best we head down the mountain now. These Ilian snowstorms can get rough, and I've got things to do." He slowly started walking down the path, assuming the other two would be shortly behind. He took in the fresh Ilian air and was happy to be home. And happy to have met a dragon, at that.

"No. Bee. I just need some distance. I cherish our friendship. But right now.. I am weak. And that.. makes me afraid. That fear could lead to me.. accidentally hurting thee." He tried to force a smile. Even though the girl's obsession with fire and pranks caused him some discomfort earlier he forgave her. She was just a child after all. Then his face took a bit of a serious, somber like expression. I am sorry Bee. I do not know if or when I will be better. I could recover by tomorrow.. or in 50 years from now. Until I figure this out I cannot be around you.
He was quiet for rest of the trip. Kept himself busy just trying to walk and see straight. If he was not so preoccupied with thoughts over his strengths he might have taken the time to admire the scenery. There was something pretty about the Ilian landscape. Perhaps he could have found some similarity between the snow and his desert sands. It was strange really. He had transformed a bunch of times in Nabata but he never felt anything quite so dramatic then he did in the night. It was an exhilarating almost liberating experience to be freed from all restraints and simply let the other animal like side of him take over. He felt partly bad for the wyvern, the creature was probably lost and starving. Now it's dead. Yes dead. And food for scavengers. I just.. feel like it was such a waste. We killed something that was not meant for food. He kept his pace steady. It could STILL be food. The other part of him joked.
Aeos continued to follow Renoir until he was off the mountain. He parted ways with the hunter and apprentice mage once they had reached civilization. Perhaps he would see them again, perhaps not. But right now all he knew was that he wanted to head back to the desert and crawl around in the sand. He wanted to close his eyes in the heat and bask under the desert sun. He wanted to be away from the snowy land and the mountain that changed him.

I hate the snow, thought Bee to herself. At first she was slightly entranced by it, now she could not stand it. The snow represented everything that went wrong this day. Normally when she meet Aeos it was happy times. She had a friend she could lean on and share stories with. Now it was sad. She was not sure if she would see Aeos again. He said when he learned how to control himself. It was a vague answer. Aeos was a dragon and one thing Bee knew about dragons was that they lived long. For Aeos a few years was probably seconds compared to the long lifespans they had. For Bee however those moments were precious. Her and Aeos may never be able to play around again, nor will she be able to share her stories with him.
"It is all the snow fault", spoke Bee aloud. If it was not for the snow Bee would have been well on her way to Lycia. If it was not for the snow the wyvern would not have been so hungry. If it was not for the snow Aeos probably would not have been lost. It all came down to the stupid snow. Why was it even here. Ilia would be a thousand times better if it was a rainy nation instead of a snowing one. If Bee could change the weather she would be rid of snow for all time.
As they reached civilization everyone went there separate ways. Aeos was probably going back to Nabata. The deserts were practically void of any people and Bee was sure he would use the dense sands as a training ground to hone his power. The Sniper vanished also. Bee had no idea where and at the moment she did not even care. Bee had to return to Lycia. Her smithing teacher was waiting for her. She needed to learn her lessons quickly and get back into the game. Aeos had shown some fearsome power. There was no way Bee was going to simply sit back and watch as her friend continued to outclass her. The young maiden needed to prefect her magic. "One day I will be so strong that not even Aeos is a match", spoke Bee to herself as she started back walking. The young girl had big dreams, but little logic.
