Injuries or not Kenshin knew he had no time to waste, he had gathered belongings he would need for the trip to Lycia to see Sokka and his tribe. He wondered the village looking for Anttoni, one of his most trusted warriors and advisers. It didn't take him long to find him, the two greeted each other by grabbing their right forearm and pulling each other into a hug. "Anttoni, I'm sure you heard the news of Etruria?" He had nodded that he has. "I'm traveling to Lycia to talk to Sokka then I'm going to hunt down the invaders and stop their progress. I want you to stay behind and over look the repairs and replace me as the leader if I fail." Anttoni had a grim look on his face, while he wanted to be on the front lines with Kenshin and the others he knew his role was just as important for their people. Kenshin had left to inform the other tribes to aid Ilia if they pass through the plains and to get a horse the moment he had agreed, he would make one stop on his trip before going to Santaruz, he was going to get his wife and daughter to see their family.
Kenshin, Katara, and their daughter Kirala had spent the next couple of days traveling together on horse back, Kirala had rode on Kenshin's horse delighted to spend time with him AND she gets to see uncle Sokka. Kenshin had felt at peace being with his family despite the fact he was bout to go from the frying pan and into the fire. It was simple things like this that reminded him why he fought so hard to keep peace in Sacae. He took one hand off of the reins and wrapped it around his daughter and kissed the top of her head, which she had giggled at. She was growing up so quickly, he had wished she didn't have to do so in a world where danger was lurking around the corner all the time.
It had seemed as if the trip went by too fast for Kenshin, they had finally arrived to the Sacaen tribe in Santaruz. Katara had seemed happy to be with her people once again, as well as Kirala because she knew they'd spoil her with sweets like always. Kenshin dismounted the horse before helping Kirala off, he had winced and groaned silently in pain. Kirala looked up to him for a second before hugging him "Daddy, are you still hurt?" Kenshin returned the hug "I'll be fine sweetie, go run along and play with your friends here." "I wish I was there to yell at the bad guy for hurting my daddy." Kenshin chuckled as she let go and ran off. Only if it was that easy.
Kenshin had began to look for Sokka, or somebody that may help point him in the right direction while Katara began to mingle with her old friends. It didn't take Kenshin long to find out Sokka had just left to the capital with others to trade and gather supplies their town needed and he won't be back for a few days.
