"Brave, but foolish", spoke Gaston as he saw his young friend face down four of the brigands. Gaston was actually surprised none of the brutes where looking around to see where the arrow had come from. If it was the other way around Gaston was sure to have checked. Gaston's arrows where like the rods of a god. If you where not paying attention they would send you to the afterlife. Still Gaston was a bit grateful and annoyed. The owner of the home was making a really big fuss. Gaston figured he had one to two more shots before the man would run to the guard.
"Alright gramps give me two more shots", spoke the Burly man as he pulled back on his bow and fired a arrow. he did not wait for the man's permission. It was a life and death situation going on. As Gaston let loss his arrow he calculated where the brigands where going to move. Four on one, it was obvious that they would just gank the swordsmen to death. However Gaston had a wonderful solution. As his arrow flew though the air it passed close by one brigand to grab his attention and then hit another one in the weapon arm. Gaston was aiming for another shot in the center mass, but the wind had picked up.
"What the", spoke one of the brigands as he turned to see Gaston standing on top of a roof. The other brigand was holding his arm. The move effectively took two of the men out of the battle.
"Alright one more arrow", spoke Gaston as he fired the last of the three he pulled out. This arrow flew through the air, but missed. The injured Brigand was not going to get hit again. He moved far enough to the right to cause the arrow to fly by and find a place in a nearby wall. "Shoot", spoke Gaston as the two men began to move in his direction. The burly man jumped off the house and landed in the street.
"You might want to go back inside old man", spoke Gaston as he took three more arrows out his quiver.

Ace scanned the battlefield. There seemed to be four men facing Rixsch, but then one seemed to have acquired an arrow into his arm. Two of the men started racing towards a house for some reason. Suddenly, Gaston appeared near the house and was notching three arrows from his quiver into his bow. Ace grinned. He sure is good with that bow. Ace still couldn't find the brigand that he wounded earlier in the back. Ace was about to begin charging into the battle once again to help Rixsch. However, something sounded behind the cavalier, a sudden noise that sounded like a battle cry. Ace looked back and saw an axeman charging at him.
"Move Troy move! Ace shouted at his horse and Troy quickly turned to the right after a loud neigh. The brigand ran past the cavalier and turned to face him. Ace noticed before the brigand turned that he had a cut in his back. Ah, here you are. We meet again. Time to finish this. Ace gave the command to Troy to start charging at the brigand. Ace got the brigand on his right side because his weapon arm is his right. As soon as the cavalier got close, Ace pretended that he was going to cut the brigand down with horizontal hack to his body. However, Ace quickly shifted from holding his weapon normally into a backhand and brought his arm down just as the brigand was no more than about ten to fifteen feet away. Ace brought his sword up with an uppercut straight up the man's chest. Ace watched the man try to hold his chest and stop the bleeding, but between the two wounds it was just too much. Well that's two from me. I think Gaston can handle himself with those other two. I guess it's time to help Rixsch finish off the other two. If he even needs help though.

Rixsch watched Ace finish off two of the brigands as Gaston fired shots towards the final two still standing, one being hit in his right arm. "heh, looks like it just isn't your day, is it?" He said towards them "we may be outnumbered in quantity. But we outnumber you," He tapped the side of his skull " up here."
He launched for the two brigands, jumping off of their shoulders and landing behind them. "You know, its rather sad that your boss sent such expendable units after me. I almost feel sorry for you, then again..." He tried to look menacingly at the brigands "...you chose to take the money and come after me."
. Both of the bandits burst into fits of laughter and the one on the left to Rixsch said "this kid is too cocky for his own good. Lets teach 'im a lesson on the real world" He then ran towards Rixsch, swinging his axe around erratically, almost like a maniac that had just escaped confinement. Rixsch smiled " I ain't falling for that again." Rixsch jumped to the side, putting some more distance between himself and the brigand before pulling out a small knife. "Fly straight and true, my pretty." He said towards the blade before throwing it towards the brigand. The knife span through the air at a rather disappointing speed, yet still managed to make a small cut on the bandit before the knife spun out and landed on the ground beside him. The bandit looked down and grimaced "that hurt, kid, you should stop playing with such dangerous toys." He said before picking up the knife, looking at it like a rotten piece of meat, and throwing it away again. "Crap." Rixsch said "I should really practice my aim before trying things like that." A drop of sweat rolled down the back of his head. The bandit smiled again before continuing his path towards Rixsch 'Right, focus, Rixsch, what advantage do I have. A higher speed, now I must use that. Let's see..." He thought before looking around for a solution. He knew his time was running out, he needed to think quickly. He began running towards the brigand, trying to pick up enough speed before sliding underneath his legs to give him some time to think about how he will defeat his opponent, he twisted around as he got up to put a horizontal slash through his opponent. The axe-wielder let out a grunt of pain befor whirling around with his axe. As Rixsch tried to dodge, his left arm got caught in the path of the axe. He helped in pain before grabbing his wound, he looked at it "not too deep. I'm sure I could get a vulnerary as soon as this is finished." He raised his sword yet again, grunting with the pain. He slowed his breathing 'watch his movements, Rixsch, wait for the right time to strike...'

"Only two brigands for Gaston", spoke the archer as he shook his head. "The fools have no idea who they are messing with. "Gaston then pulled one of the three arrows out from his hand and pulled back on the bow. He stopped for a moment and took aim. He did not want a miss like last time. Two on one and with Gaston only having a bow, that was a bad deal. However Gaston knew how to even the odds. As the brigands rushed forward they saw Gaston pulling back on his bow. Instinctively they began to zig zag trying to throw the archer off. However that would not work on Gaston. He was Gaston after all, the greatest hunter to ever grace the world. Gaston knew better than to simply fire at them from this range. The only shots that would work here where long range shots. Anything else could easily be dodged. Instead Gaston waited and observed there moments and measured the wind.
As the bandits drew closer they abandoned there zig and instead focus purely on the sprint. They raised there axes in preparation to bring them down and soon as they where in range. "Got you", spoke Gaston as the wounded bandit began to raise his axe. He waited right till the axe crossed the eye line and then released his arrow. By the time the man noticed what had happen it was too late. Gaston had waited till the duo had gotten close enough that there reaction speed did not matter against his arrows.
"Gaahhhhh", screams of agony filled the air as the brigand with a wounded arm fell to the ground in pure agony. Gaston had fired his arrow not at the man's chest, nor his neck. Not even the groin, thought Gaston had reserved that spot for only the most vile of men. No Gaston had shot a arrow in the man's knee, or better known as the guard maker. With that bolt placed there the brigand was not running toward him anymore, or anybody for that matter. Now it only left the one brigand who was bringing down his axe to attack the hero of the tale.
"Die", spoke the man as he swung his axe down. He wanted to swing it down into the man's shoulder, but once he got close to Gaston he realized just how big the archer was. Instead he would have to settle for chopping him in the chest, thought that was not going to work. The moment he swung down Gaston took a step backwards and moved his body to the side. His long step prevented the axe from finding its mark and instead placed it into the stone street.
"Gaston punch", shouted the big man as he dropped his bow and slammed his fist into the brigand's jaw. The blow was strong enough to knock the man off his feet and cause him to leave his axe behind. "Come now brigand. Test the might of Gaston", spoke the archer as he kicked the man's war axe aside. The burly archer then began to flex his muscles and show off his well toned arms and pectoral muscles. "Let see if you can stand up to the best of a man that is Gaston."

Ace was continuing to scan the battlefield. Gaston seemed to disable one opponent and take on the other with fist to fist combat. Gaston should win hands down. Ace turned his gaze to Rixsch. It seems that there were still two left facing Rixsch. One with a few wounds and the other seemed fine. The only problem was that it seemed that Rixsch was hurt. Oh no! Rixsch is in bad shape. It is time for some back-up.
"Come on Troy! Let's go help our friend. Yah!" Ace shouted to the horse and Troy begun to charge towards the two brigands. The one that seemed in fine shape noticed Ace charging towards him. He seemed to be wielding a Hand Axe and turned to face Ace. The brigand threw his axe towards Ace, but the brigands aim just was not very good. However, Ace didn't really notice the axe flying at him until last minute. The cavalier tried to pull Troy's reins to the side, so that the horse would dodge the axe. Disappointingly, it was a little to late and the axe managed to get the side of Ace's right thigh. "Gah! I can't believe these fool of a brigand got me! The wound was deeper than a graze, but not by much. Ace should be able to get the wound to heal up after some days.
While the brigand was glad that he hit Ace, he didn't seem to realize that the horse was still charging at him. The burly man began to start running since he was defenseless. However, Troy soon caught him and once the horse was to the left side of the brigand, the man turned his body and looked up at Ace's sword. Ace brought down his sword with a diagonal slash through the man's exposed chest. The brigand stumbled back and watched his wound bleed heavily. Troy continued to gallop past the man and finally stooped after a few meters. Ace looked down to check his leg. I should be okay. It just ... well hurts obviously. Ace looked back over to Rixsch He should be able to handle that one brigand.

Rixsch's sword was still raised toward his opponent, as they were both standing silently, waiting for the other to strike. Rixsch gave a weak smile "what? You suddenly shy, now?" The brigand was offended "comin' from you, kid? You think you're a hotshot, but ya cant even beat us lot in a fight."
Rixsch looked around at the bodies of his fallen comrades "wow, you bandit guys really aren't bright, are ya?" "W-what's that supposed to mean?!" The bandit shouted before growling and rushing forwards, holding his axe beside his head. The bandit tried to slash deeply at Rixsch, but the slow and cumbersome move was rather easy to dodge, as Rixsch easily stepped to the side, causing the brigand to stumble. "Huh?" He asked himself whilst looking at where Rixsch once was.
Rixsch held his sword in one arm, smiling at the bandit "you seem to forget the basic laws of the land. Remember, here in Elibe, axes are the most cumbersome weapons you can wield. Sure, they're powerful, but they're slow, swords, on the other hand, are light, fast. Better." He stated before slashing horizontally across the chest of the bandit, but the bandit managed to block the sword with the side of his axe. Instead of trying to overpower someone of that strength again, Rixsch raised his knee upwards, hitting the bandit in the stomach, causing the bandit to bend over double and drop his weapon. Rixsch held his sword to the bandit's neck.
"You are bested, dear friend." He spoke before beheading the brigand. As he sheathed his sword, he said in a grand voice "oh, parting is such sweet sorrow."

OCC: Far from over Gaston has not finished off his two bandits yet
"Arrogant fool", shouted the bandit as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a throwing knife. Gaston, with his arms already close to his head, lowered his arm and took the blade in his left forearm. As Gaston blocked the blow the brigand pulled himself off the ground and rushed forward. Like a Olympic wrestler the brigand lowered his body letting one knee quickly scuff across the ground. Taking a shot in between Gaston's legs the man grabbed the archer's left leg and pulled it up into the air. "Dunking the tree", spoke the man as he threw off Gaston's balance and sent the burly man falling to the ground. Quickly he abandoned all thoughts of close combat and rushed and grabbed his axe.
"Cowardly knave", shouted Gaston as he pulled himself off the ground. The brigand had caught him off guard with that assault. How could he know the man knew how to wrestle. It was a rare skill amongst the illiterate scum bags. As Gaston turned to fight the brigand he was shocked to see that the man was holding his axe. He was quick to recover his weapon, which was bad for Gaston. With rage and fury the man swung his axe attempting to slice open the bowls of the archer. Gaston took a step backwards, but it was not enough to put him out of reach of the man's axe. The blade slicked through Gaston's shirt and left a slash across his midsection. However the wound was not deep, but it hurt like fire.
"Impossible", spoke Gaston as he placed his hand over the wound. Blood started to stain his shirt as the brigand rushed in for the kill.
"Lets see how great you are when you are dead", he shouted. The games where now over. Gaston was no longer showing off, nor was he trying to be manly. The brigand had drawn blood and Gaston was now ready to make him answer for it. As he rushed in to attack Gaston simply waited. The moment he came in rage of Gaston's feet the burly man pulled up his leg and front kicked the man in the chest. The blow knocked the wind out of the brigand and forced him to take a step back.
"D@#$", spoke the brigand as he recovered. Looking up he saw Gaston approaching and swung his axe in rage.
"Enough of that", spoke Gaston as he swung his arm hitting the man's forearm with his hand stopping his swing before he could finish. Gaston then enter locked his fingers together and slammed both of his hand's down onto the back of the man sending him face down into the street.
"Son of a", spoke the man as he attempted to recover, but Gaston's boot soon knocked the words out of him. The burly man stumped down on the man's head from above. However Gaston was not satisfied with a single stump. No he continued stumping over and over again till he was sure the man was dead.
"Dirty low life brigand! How dare you cause injury on Gaston! Do you know what this will do to my image!" Gaston began to stomp again as his anger rose. "I am the perfect man! Perfect in form! Prefect in skill! Perfect in all ways that matter, and yet a weak low life like you has the gall to injure me! Unacceptable! Unacceptable", shouted Gaston as he finished stumping the brigand. He then picked up the man's axe and walked over to the one wounded on the ground. In a fit of rage Gaston removed both the man's arms and legs and left him in the street.
"Lowlife scum", spoke Gaston as he walked back over to the first dead man and picked up his bow. The wound on his stomach began to hurt and Gaston was forced to stop and treat the wound. "Should probably check on the others. If these scum injured me then they might be nearly dead", spoke Gaston as he ripped his shirt into bandages. Wrapping the bandages around his wound Gaston made his way back toward the others. As he walked he felt both the pain from his midsection and the wound on his arm. "To think that I would be injured", spoke Gaston as he pulled another arrow out of his quiver and knocked it into his bow. "They better prey they are already dead", he spoke as he moved to check on the others.

Ace was looking down and checking the wound he gained from the battle with the brigands. His right thigh was burning, but Ace was able to wrap it with some white cloth that Ace had stored in a bag on Troy's saddle. The cloth was turning red quickly. I still can't believe that brigand's axe got me. Ace whistled to Troy to signal for the horse to begin moving. Ace wanted to check if his allies were safe and okay. By the looks of it, the brigands seemed taken care of. Both Rixsch and Gaston had wounds though just like Ace. Ace noticed that two brigands by Gaston were still alive though.
Unacceptable," shouted Gaston.
Ace watched horridly as Gaston slaughtered the two brigands. So much anger and aggression. Who knew what kind of ferocity was stored in that big body. Ace felt concern for his and Rixsch's own safety from Gaston. Who knows what he is capable of. Ace pulled Troy's reins and the pair went towards Gaston.
"Gaston... I think the brigands are all finished. We are safe for now ... Gaston?" Ace tried to not sound slightly scared. The cavalier didn't want Gaston to just attack him with his rage in effect. Ace gained his composure and spoke to Gaston with a soft, kind tone without fear. "Come on Gaston, let's go check on Rixsch."

(sorry I was so late, it was my birthday weekend and, as you can imagine, it was busy!)
Rixsch looked at the seven bodies that littered the area before walking up to one body, and kicking it like a dead animal "well," he said to himself "that was close." He looked around and noticed both Ace and Gaston were back in town whilst Rixsch was still standing outside, almost marvelling at his and their work.
"Hmph, better than expected." An unknown voice spoke out, startling Rixsch. He turned around and answered "that so? And who might you be?" "I guess you could say... A friend..." He said before chuckling. The man in front of Rixsch was wearing a black hood. "So, I'm guessing you were the one to set the trap." "A trap?! Dear child, that was a TEST, a taste of what is to come."
The man clicked his fingers, before disappearing in a puff of smoke, leaving a piece of paper behind. Rixsch picked it up and read it aloud "along the water's edge, you will find what you seek... Could he mean my parents... Or something else...?"

"Oh Acer", spoke Gaston as he turned to see the young caviler. Gaston wondered in his mind if he saw him freak out against the bandit. He preyed that was all he saw. Gaston's reputation could not take a hit from allowing a low class brigand to take a shot on him and pull him to the ground. Still Gaston had finished the man off in a brutal way. Well it was War and war was brutal. Gaston was sure that would not hurt his reputation any. "I see you have a few wounds", spoke the big man as he looked at his horse riding friend. "As you can tell I took a few scrapes myself finishing off these two. I was worried for you and Rixsch for a while. I mean if the brigands can hurt me what do you think they would do to the two of you. I am Gaston. Look at me I am huge. Though it seems my fears where misplaced, you seem alright enough."
Gaston let the topic drop for a moment as he looked back toward the exit out of town. Rixsch was alright, but Gaston saw something that did not seem right. There was a figure in a black cloak and immediate Gaston drew his bow. "Hold on a second", he spoke as he pulled back on his weapon. However the man vanished before he could fire. "what in the world", spoke Gaston as he let the bow relax. "Seems like the work of dark magic", spoke the burly man. "Come Acer I think our friend Rixsch is going to need some back up." With those words said Gaston took off toward the center of the gate. He could not let any harm come upon the young swordsmen. Not only would it be uncool to let him get hurt, but he was seen with Gaston. Gaston walked out with him. If he was seriously harmed then it would be said that Gaston can not protect anyone, and Gaston CAN protect what he wants to protect. Nobody says that about him!
"Rixsch", spoke Gaston as he rushed up. The burly man's wound was hurting again. He was going to need to see a medic and get that tended too after he was done here. Oh the surprise on the medic's face when they see Gaston walk in. At the very least they would get a excellent show as they get to look upon Gaston's perfect body. "Are you alright lad? Who was the guy in the robe? Are there more of the filthy brigands to be taken down", spoke Gaston as he looked around.

OOC: (Just got back from my trip. Sorry for the late response)
Ace listened to Gaston as the burly man explained his wounds and worries about Rixsch and Ace being unable to protect themselves. The young cavalier took Gaston's words to heart and was glad that he was concerned for him and Rixsch. Even though Gaston tortured those men, Ace guessed that he and Rixsch would be safe around Gaston since he seemed to care about them. Gaston finished speaking and started to go to the exit of the town, but then something happened.
"Hold on a second," Gaston said as he drew his bow. Ace turned his head quickly over where Gaston was looking and noticed the dark robed man from the tavern was besides Rixsch. However, he suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"Seems like the work of dark magic", spoke Gaston. "Come Acer I think our friend Rixsch is going to need some back up." The huge man begun to race over towards Rixsch. Ace quickly followed.
"Come on Troy. Hurry!" The horse trotted quickly forward towards Rixsch. Gaston begun talking once again as Ace arrived next to the duo.
"Are you alright lad? Who was the guy in the robe? Are there more of the filthy brigands to be taken down," spoke Gaston as he looked around. Ace was beginning to worry. He remembered the time when he fell into a trap created by a shaman in dark robes just like the one besides Rixsch in Laus. Ace didn't want Rixsch to go through anything like that. Then, Ace noticed that Rixsch was holding a piece of paper.
"What does it say Rixsch? Whatever it says, me and Gaston are here to help you through this till the end."

"Are you alright lad? Who was the guy in the robe? Are there more of the filthy brigands to be taken down," spoke Gaston as he looked around. Almost as if he WANTED to fight, Gaston scared Rixsch at times, as he could clearly see his strength, and would most definitely not want to be on the receiving end of one of his arrows.
"What does it say Rixsch? Whatever it says, me and Gaston are here to help you through this till the end." Ace said as his horse, Troy, galloped towards Rixsch. He smiled up at the two. "You really don't need to help me this much, haven't you both got anything better to do than play heroes with some kid?" Rixsch shook his head "A-anyway, this paper was dropped by the spooky guy in the black coat. It says 'Along the water's edge, you will find what you seek.' Now, it is easy to jump to conclusions on what this means, but I'm sceptical." He folded the piece of paper neatly and placed it in the same pocket as the previous piece before looking up at the towering man and the cavalier "what do you both think?"
He looked up at the slowly rising moon, occasionally being obscured by the odd cloud and thought to himself 'could this be the final conclusion to my quest, or yet another hoax? It's worth looking, but let's see what Gaston and Ace think. If they don't think it's worth it, it probably isn't.'

"Look Rixsch I understand that you don't want to waste my time or you are having anxiety about the idea of reaching your goal, but if you have not notice I am wounded. I know the very idea that Gaston being wounded is crazy and nearly impossible. However this time it is possible and not crazy. A filthy brigand got a lucky blow in and left a slash on my perfect body. So it goes without saying that I have literally spilled blood on this matter. The blood of Gaston is worth more than all the gold in Bern and Lycia alike. Those dastardly cutthroats have to pay for what they have done. Not to mention I still need to help your save your parents. It would be a cold day in hell before Gaston simply gave up on somebody without trying. The archer began to stretched his arms and flex out his muscles as he prepared himself to move. The wound still hurt, but Gaston had felt worse.
"I say we go to that river and see what this hooded fellow has waiting for us. I can probably tell you it is just more bandits and a far more elaborate trap. However it won't matter. As long as Gaston is here we shall have victory, and once the brigand's blood turns the water crimson we will force the information we seek from there leader and march to your parents rescue!"
Gaston opened his bag and pulled out a torch. Walking over to a night lantern he lit up the thing and began to walk back toward the inside of the town. "However I am going to see the local healer first. Get my wound mended and then we will be off. Can't possibly waste any more precocious blood, especially since there is a healer available", spoke the brute as he stepped off from the main street and toward a door marked with a image of a staff.

"What do you both think?" Rixsch asked his two friends. Ace wondered for a moment to think of a response. It was most likely a trap with plenty more bandits that were ready to kill and steal. However, Ace wanted to support Rixsch and Rixsch seemed to want something good come from going to the river. Hopefully, it will be safe with no bandits...
"Look Rixsch I understand that you don't want to waste my time or you are having anxiety about the idea of reaching your goal, but if you have not notice I am wounded," said Gaston. Suddenly, Ace felt pain in his right thigh. The cavalier looked down and saw the wound he gained from the fight. I forgot I have a wound too! It seems Ace had too much adrenaline running through his body to notice the wound. Ace heard Gaston mention something about a healer.
"However I am going to see the local healer first. Get my wound mended and then we will be off. Can't possibly waste any more precocious blood, especially since there is a healer available," spoke the brute as he stepped off from the main street and toward a door marked with a image of a staff.
"I agree with Gaston. Let us heal first and then continue on to the river. This way we can be prepared for whatever is to come." Ace talked to Rixsch with a gentle tone. The cavalier hoped Rixsch would agree and allow for some rest before continuing. His right thigh was definitely starting to burn quite a bit now...

As Gaston said this, Ace grasped his leg. Clearly he, too, was in pain.

Gaston lit a nearby lantern and walked back down the dirt path, towards a small hut with a sign dangling from it, on the sign was a picture of a white staff, shrouded in golden light.
"I agree with Gaston. Let us heal first and then continue on to the river. This way we can be prepared for whatever is to come." Ace spoke, jumping down from his horse and leading it down the path after Gaston.
Rixsch felt the pain worsen in his shoulder "heh, deeper than I thought." He spoke to himself, rubbing around the open wound. As Rixsch had previously said, axes are heavy things, so wounds would always be deeper than most sword wounds.Alas, it was the trade off that he had to make when he chose to take up swords. He was always one to run in and deal the most hits in the shortest amount of time, rather than dealing masses of damage in one fell swoop. In his opinion, that was more effective, anyway, as, in his mind, speed was always key in battle"Well, I think it would be a good idea to get this seen to." Rixsch began to walk after the two, still grasping his shoulder. He muttered to himself "gee, hope I have enough gold..."
