Name : Blaze Kazeroï
Class : Myrmidon
Age : 18
Born in : Nabata
Appearance : Blaze is a young adult, with an average height, that is born in Nabata. He is easily recognizable by his very long, blood red hair, which easily cover his shoulders. Blaze also has blue eyes, like a night full of stars.
Blaze wears mostly black and brown clothes despites the sun in the desert. He typically wears a long vest that looks like swordsmaster uniforms despite not actually being one, which often gives him an intimidating appearance. Under it, Blaze uses a small armor made of leather, which doesn't limit his movement, but gives him decent protection against small and fast weapons like knifes. Blaze also has a hat, which is mostly for style and protection against the sun.
Personality : Blaze is caring and extremely kind towards anyone he knows, almost to a fault, but this extreme kindness doesn't makes him weak by any means, and like any well grown adult in Nabata, he learned to fear and avoid strangers, he discovered that he had a pretty accurate gut feeling, but it also proved to be wrong sometimes . Blaze never hesitates to help a friend or fellow, helping them even if he is himself a valuable asset to the team. He always considers his life as less valuable than the others, and won't hesitate to put himself in great danger if there is a chance to help, but never give his life to someone he doesn't hold dear enough.
Blaze acts naturally, he is very honest, but crude and sometimes rude. He is confident in his blade and the one he knows. Despite being honorable and loyal to death, Blaze is very cunning, often avoiding unfair or difficult situations. He has difficulties to lie, but won't hesitate if it can save him or someone else. His social skills are... average at best, since his kindness is pretty disarming. He trust easily people, but rarely fully commit if unsure, and betrayal is what makes him mad. Blaze is probably one of the most terrifying person when angry, not because of his skills or his knowledge, because he actually always master his anger. He looks at his foes with a smile, but a scary one. You know that he will use his anger without letting it blind him.
Story : Born in Nabata, Blaze always had 3 passions : traveling, observing the desert, and practicing swordplay. Blaze never really had a chance to improve his sword skills, because of the isolated country that is Nabata. His mother was a powerful swordmaster, which lived peacefully with her husband, who died very young. Blaze learned in his early days many different skills, and his mother taught him a bit of swordplay before turning ill. Blaze continued his practice alone, but he also learned in the nearby church some basic healing skills : creating medicine, first aid bandages and he even learned some specific treatment against burs from magic, poisoned weapons and many problematic status.
One fateful day, when he was only 14, pirates attacked from the sea the village. They were so many, Blaze never saw that much people at once! Terrified, he alerted mother, which was still ill and barely conscientious. She eventually woke up, took a sword and walked out of the house with unsure steps. Blaze stayed in the house, looking for a blade himself, when he found one. It was weird looking, but he had to take it, it wasn't the time to be picky. Blaze came out of the house to see pirates surrounding his mother. He rushed out and scarred a few pirates to get close to her. When she saw the blade, she panicked. She immediately took the blade out of his hand and gave him hers. Blaze looked closer at the blade he took earlier.
"... Lancereaver... Oh no..."
Blaze took the worst kind of blade. They were surrounded by 10 pirates, armed with axes, and her mother, already ill, now had a weapon disadvantage. Blaze began to cry, realizing he just made the situation worse and that they would both die here and now. But her mother would not let that happened, she fought with all her remaining strength to protect her son, who would also have his first taste of battle. Blaze quickly realize the brutality and the unforgivingness of the battlefield. All of his mistakes cost heavily on her mother, sacrificing an arm, then a leg to ensure his safety. The longer the fight went on, the less confident Blaze was in his skill and felt like drooping his blade to just stay behind her mother. But his honor would have never allowed him to be such a coward.
But miraculously, they survived, but her mother... not for long. Despite his medic skills, her mother was too wounded, she died from blood loss. But she had the time to speak with her son, to congratulate him for his first battle, how well he did, and to not feel sad. She died as a warrior, and that, was what she wanted, she wouldn't have forgive herself to leave this place without teaching Blaze the blade, or worse, dying in a bed from illness. Blaze was destroyed by her loss, but quickly recovered. Just like a bone, his shattered mind became anew and as solid as ever.
He knew it was the cycle of life, but he decided to leave the village and explore the desert to find the other villages. His thirst for travel eventually gave him the nickname of Wanderer. But despite his travel, his sword skills were incomplete, and no matter how much incredible technique he learned from his mother, none of them were usable as long as his basic skills were weak : He knew how to take down a fighter from a horse, how to put on the ground a knight and even how to use his blade to blind his foe with the sunlight. But without upfront power, theses skills were very situational, making him not a reliable fighter.
Blaze did everything, from learning to open locks, to be a great card player. He eventually began to like gambling, but never made huge bets. But how could he practice his sword? Nabata is a country of merchant, mages and dragons... well that's what he heard. He does feel inferior compared to the powerful magic art of the country. But Blaze found a way, he knew that if no one wants to teach him, he will have to teach himself. Blaze set out to seek school in order to improve himself. Most school weren't convinced, but he eventually found a school of mage, which accepted a deal : He would be a target so that the student could train their aim and magic abilities while he would simply have to beat the students with a wood stick. The teachers quickly took over the students, and Blaze's speed kept growing, but not his swordplay. Despite being a great experience and a great way to improve his skills against mages, it wasn't what he needed. He came to see the teacher.
"Master? May i have a word? I really enjoyed my stay here, i learned valuable skills and made myself comfortable against what i feared the most. But i'm not any greater at the blade, I am still only capable of basic swings... Do you any idea to help me?"
"Well, it was sure that this wasn't what you seek, but you proved very helpful for our student, and to thank you, i think i know which person you should see..."
Blaze was promised to see a person that would allow him to become what he aspires for.
