The remaining bandits began retreating, leaving their dead behind. Sheathing her dagger,Claira slowly sat down on the ground. She began breathing heavy hearing a young man's voice. Turning her head, it was the young boy who gave the order to fire the arrows earlier. Nodding her head with a smile, she was about to ask the maiden if she was alright but saw she already left. Thinking to herself, "No good deed goes unpunished, I'd like to meet the idiot who said that phrase so I can punch him." Leaning back, her body felt the warmth of the healing magic. Standing back up, she looked at the pupil and said. "I'm from Sacae, only right to help my neighbors in distress. May your travels bring you fortune." The Thief would start walking as her body was now sore. Her eyes went from dead body to dead body. So much death in a peaceful village. It reminded her of her tribe, their village. The fires started to die down as the villagers who were left threw water onto the buildings. "A shame this is. They will have to relocate because this place is now a target." Claira said to herself as she walked.
The Thief walked past the female horse rider from before and Claira guessed that the other maiden was her companion. Not saying anything, Claira walked past them raising her hood over her head. The children before ran up to her. They're blood shot eyes and wet faces shown they were crying. Kneeling down to them, she would open her arms. The four small children came in and hugged her. One of the children began saying, "May your..." Claira smiled and said cutting in. "Travels bring you fortune." The children looked up at her confused. Pointing towards the north where the mountains were, Claira explained. "I'm also from Sacae. The village I grew up is on the other side of those mountains." Slowly standing back up, Claira bid farewell to the young children. Walking again, she headed for the front gate. Stopping at the gate, she turned around and took in the sight of the village. People running with buckets of water to fight the fire, people screaming and crying out. The horrors of battle. Something no one can get over.
