Mattew stepped foot into a medium sized town, in the land of Ilia. The houses were covered top to bottom in snow, along with the ground and any paths that were originally created for walking throughout the town. Just on the outskirt of this town was a heavily wooded area, that stretched for miles. The incredibly large trees dripping snow day by day look extremely beautiful in Mattew's eyes, although only if they were to have been visited. Mattew had gotten caught in a heavy shower of snow in earlier days of the past leaving him running empty on all rations, and not enough left to keep warm another night. Mattew stepped into the town, the largest two buildings stood quite high, one sat directly at his 2:00 and the other stood tall roughly parallel at his 9:00. A couple of what appeared to be houses were on his right, fires alight inside each and every home. On Mattew's left a tavern, and an inn for which Mattew's immediate thoughts of sleeping in would be heavenly. Alas, Mattew didn't have much money left. He left Bern in a rush trying to escape his own fights and poverty, only to find himself needing to turn to his skill with a steady hand once again. None were out on the streets, as the snow poured hard and only seemed to get gradually harder as Mattew came to his conclusion. Mattew donned his hood and used his skill with stealth to melt into the shadows outside the houses. Mattew heard a commotion inside a single house, but at the other end from which he was stationed. The walls were not thick but apparently held heat enough to be viable for housing. Mattew spotted the emergency storage outside the same house, more towards the end without any signs of life. Mattew took out his trusty lockpick and went at it. Mattew had practiced breaking and entering so much in the past it was a second nature. Luckily for him, a rotten skill like this even has it's good times, as he busted the lock on the outside safebox wide open in seconds.

Always so cold…
Mikki thought to herself as she flew above the sleeping Illian town. Her Pegasus whinnied in the wind, its wings gliding on the cold winter air. The young Pegasus knight could see her breath form small clouds of vapor in the air in front of her, and the same could be said for the flying beast she rode upon. It was snowing slightly, the white flakes gently falling in the wind. All seemed peaceful on this regular patrol, but the girl remained vigilant. Some believed that she often took such regular patrols too seriously, but she knew that a true Knight has a right to be paranoid of attack or worse. The moonlight shone down, reflecting on the layers of snow, almost making them glow in the night. She was relieved to see that nothing appeared out of the ordinary, yet.
Sudden movement caught her eye, A figure in the dark, a shadow blending within the shadows. It could have been nothing but a trick of the moon’s light, yet she saw it again. It was creeping through the snow and making it way to a small building, a perhaps a storage shed of some sort. The figure stood in front of the door, and she saw it fumbling with the lock. No, locking picking the lock.
A Thief!
She knew it to be true just as the doors of the shed shot open. Mikki whipped at the reins, commanding her pegasus to nose dive down to the surface. The beast folded its winds to speed its descent, opening them in a flash just before hitting the ground. A small wave of snow blasted around the area the girl landed, which was just behind the thief. Mikki raised her lance, readying to see how the criminal would react. Her face held a look of fury for those who so dare commit such heinous deeds.
”Thief! If you do not so wish to be spending tonight in a cell, then I suggest you stop your selfish act. Less, I will arrest you!”

Mattew thought to himself as the lock blew open for him, a blessing it was to see the doors open as if commanded with a single "open sesame". "Can't say I didn't expe-" A clapping of the wind, or more so the movement of several feet approached him at lightening speed. Mattew couldn't even turn around before his entire back was swept so much snow upon instantly that it almost sent him to the ground with such force. "Huh-?" Mattew could see out of the corner of his eye as he quickly glanced over his shoulder a magnificent Pegasus, rider with dark blue to black hair, quite small figure but eyes of stern demanding. Mattew turned to face the Pegasus rider, barking orders at him, most likely threatening him with jail time. Mattew grabbed his hair moving his hand from the front of his hair, over his head and placing it on the backside of his head. Mattew looked to the ground as he began to speak, "Some kind of guard huh? I'm surprised you're even alive out here with all these bandit gangs running around." Mattew lifted his head and for only a moment made eye contact. Her eyes reminded him of a past he felt he had forgotten. Something he had missed or never been able to hold onto. He didn't have time to think about it. "Anyways," Mattew said as he stepped backward, right foot already inside the shed. "Find someone else to bug, I don't have time for this." Mattew got both feet inside the shed, quickly grabbing the doors and slamming them shut. The lock from the outside he tossed into the air as he stood inside the shed, quickly locking the doors from the inside, and beginning his scavenge of food and gold. Mattew was able to nab several fruits, a lighter, and a couple hundred gold in a matter of seconds before literally busting open the back of the wooden shed and sprinting into the alleys between the nearby houses.
