A Sacaen lad with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. His hair is kept in a pony tail and comes down a bit past his shoulders. He stands at an average height for someone his age so around 5' 10" and has a lean build to him. His bright blue eyes are said to be rather pretty and have a feeling of passion and ferocity in them. This is somewhat a way of conveying his spirit, a young compassionate and caring lad but behind his a burning warrior with a thirst for a hunt. Gael is donned in traditional Greikah attire which has many tribe symbols on it. It consists of a blue tunic with a long sleeved shirt underneath. Arm guards placed on his arms and gloves protecting his arms. He wears a hooded cloak that has Greikah symbols decorating it.
Gael also wears beige trousers and brown boots with straps and belts along his body for holding pouches and his quiver. He also wears blue earrings.
Personality:
The patience of a saint and the ferocity of a dragon is a good way to sum up Gael in a nutshell. He's a calm and composed lad who'd much rather keep a cool head of things than get riled up. He's also quite gentle and has a knack for defusing confrontations and incidents rather quickly and with no force or violence being used. It's puzzling to most as to how he can do this but there's an air about him that makes people feel comfortable and safe around him. This "air about him" is more or less how Gael carries himself and his demeanor, it's mostly said by those who know him. What they are referring to is his composed and gentle way of handling things. Instead of getting riled up or emotional he remains calm and empathetic knowing that what most people want is just someone who understands and listens to them. So during high tension situations Gael tends to be the voice of reason and does his best to calm everyone. Those who are familiar with him have grown to feel comfortable and relaxed around him due to this. It helps that he's quite understanding with people and is quite good at picking up underlying emotions.
He learned most of this from his mother, the one who taught him archer. During this time he was taught the virtue of patience. The virtue of waiting and thinking things through before heading in head first and blindly. As such Gael is extremely observant and quite resourceful, being a quick thinker and able to adapt well. Though this is not without its faults. Gael is naturally quiet, normally not speaking unless he has to and just all around keeps to himself mostly. So he will often think of something or a plan and put it into motion without telling those around him. It's a bad habit he has yet to break out of and leads him into trouble at times.
He prefers action to words, his Greikah blood speaking there. While he's not like his other tribesman, who are more likely to draw swords than he is, Gael does understand the benefit to actions. He cannot remember all the times that time was wasted with those too indecisive to make a chose or too cowardly to take action. This is why he prefers action over words which can lead to impulsiveness from time to time. And despite his calm and collected nature he can be a bit of a wildfire at times. When he does get riled up and his emotions run rampant he becomes a ferocious warrior. Again this is due mostly to his Greikah blood and being the son of quite the hot-headed Chieftain.
This rarely happens and the majority of the time he is his normal kind and softhearted Gael. He has a strange knack for animals and nature. It's not sure where he got it from or why this happens but Gael gets along with most any creature no matter how many scales it has or how furry it is. It's odd how calm and docile they get around him as if they trust he isn't going to do anything and is a friend. When it comes to animals that mainly comes from his experience raising them in the village and hunting. From this he learned much about behavioral patterns and how to approach most creatures which leads to most who do not know this about him to believe there's something odd about him. Dealing with nature's creatures is all about respect and a gentle hand and not being nervous or scared around them. From his experience many creatures are more docile and calm around you when you are composed, appear non-threatening and handle things with a delicate approach. The more territorial and aggressive animals the more composed and dominant you need to appear, though why anyone would want to annoy these creatures is beyond him. Most animals like to be left alone and will do so to you if you extend that courtesy. He's grown a strong appreciation for life and nature so he isn't particularly fond of killing unless necessary. To avoid causing unnecessary pain or suffering he much rather be efficient and take out his targets swiftly. This doesn't change the fact that he enjoys a good hunt when the time calls for it or a good fight.
He has a strong sense of honor and justice, despite whether or not that justice agrees with the rest of the world or those around him. Gael, much like his father, is extremely strong-willed and once he sets his mind to something he it is hard to get him to get off of it. Luckily he is easier to reason with than his father. Gael is outspoken and honest, almost bluntly so. If there's something you ask him and he doesn't wish to the tell the truth he normally just stays quiet, though this is rare for Gael to do this. He is extremely good at hiding his emotions and intentions making him hard to read and unpredictable. Adding to the fact that he as a great knack of disappearing and Gael is definitely someone you want to be cautious of.
Gael enjoys having his alone time, known to disappear to find a good view and just sit back and enjoy himself. Often he'll try and find some way to get up haigh so he'll climb a tree and scale a building. He enjoys watching sunsets and watching stars, any moment he gets he'll normally end up doing this. It's rare for someone to know where his hiding spots are at as he normally keeps this to himself. He's quite protective of things that he cares about, fiercely so as it is Greikah nature to die for those you love and care about.
There's a inquisitive and thrill-seeking side to him that wishes to see things that he couldn't ever imagine in his wildest dream and to explore the world. Though this is never takes precedent over his dutiful and laidback attitude. He's no senseless idealist who wants to change the world or defeat some sort of demon king or something. Overall Gael is a gentle and kind composed young man who keeps to himself and enjoys some good sightseeing.
Story:
Gael is a son of the Greikah Clan, to be more specific he is the son of the heads of the clan Aldair "The Storm" and "Hawkeye" Ceara. The Greikah Clan is an old clan, and old clan that has had a pension of keeping to themselves. That is one of the principles held by the clan the most, keeping to themselves and keep hidden. The clan used to be extremely isolated and against outsiders, so much to the point that other Sacaens weren't welcome into their territory and you had to have Greikah blood to be a part of the clan.
This view came from one of the original chieftains of the Greikah during the time when the clan was nothing more than a rumor that many doubted. Eventually over time the clan became more lax and active in the country. Generations of hiding in the shadows and being isolationistic eventually the Greikah slowly became more social. Through trades or opening their borders the Greikah became more open to the outside world, or at least more open to the rest of Sacae. The Greikah was still a huge unknown to the rest of the world, only rumors and murmurs normally heard from other tribes and Sacaens.
Throughout the years this is how things remained, Greikah being a little secret held within the plains of Sacae. Not many knowing whether or not they exist and those who do understanding their strength and pride. To the Greikah pride and protection of one's clan is everything and is held up by all of its members. This also extends to their pride as a Sacaen, willing to put their lives on the line if she calls for their tribe to raise their swords and protect her. If there is a great battle to be had the Greikah will definitely come to the aid of their allies.
Much like the change of seasons came the change of chieftains. Passed down from parent to child or chief to student the title of chieftain has always been given to those of strong will and heart. It was eventually passed down to Khassar "The Tempest" who passed it down to his daughter Talnith "The Wise" who then passed it to her son Sin "The Swiftblade" who would pass it down to Gael's father Aldair who would become known as Aldai "The Storm". A fierce and head strong warrior who was known for his ruthless and quick victories over his enemies.
Many oppose the anointing of Aldair as the chieftain due to his nature but they couldn't do much as once a chieftain chose a successor there was no challenging it. Aldair had to learn quick what it meant to be a chieftain of a tribe and he couldn't have done that without the help of his childhood friend Ceara who at the time was referred to Hawkeye more than anything. The best archer in all of Sacae people would say, and by that it really only meant something the Greikah would boast about without it being actually true or anything. It was always something Ceara didn't exactly believe so she never entertained the idea of it. She was too realistic as she felt there was always room for improvement.
She was the gentle kind and level-headed energy that smoothed over Aldair's hotheaded and rush in first mentality. The two together were unstoppable and brought a new age of peace and prosperity to the clan. They of course had their disagreements, one specifically that was quite heated. Ceara was a strong component for keeping the Greikah to themselves and staying out of things that didn't involve them much like the chieftains before her. Aldair on the other hand swelled with more Sacae pride than Greikah pride though this was a result of his time wandering the plains and running into many other tribes.
At this point the Greikah was more well known, even had taken in a tribe or two during Talnith and Sin's eras. These tribes were at such dwindling numbers and needed shelter so the Greikah absolved them into their own. The Greikah was now made up of 3 tribes; The Greikah, The Yulhani and The Uhnan. This helped increased their numbers and made the clan much stronger. Aldair and Ceara would have this conversation for years and neither of them could get a leg up on either debate wise.
The birth of Gael was a happy day, he would be the second child of Aldair and Ceara. Growing up Gael was taught the way of the Greikah tribe. So that meant he was taught how to survive in the wild, how to hunt, how to scavenge, how to wield a sword and use a bow. There was no part that was ignored by the tribe. Everyone from the hunters to the farmers were celebrated and viewed as important to the tribe and as such any child born by the chieftains would learn how to do everything to better understand their people.
They were still warriors know the less and efficient ones at that. While Gael always enjoyed his sword lesson he was much more into learning the bow from his mother. It was unclear which one he was better at and honestly he liked the both about the same, there was just something about the boy he enjoyed. Being taught by an amazing archer probably helped with that and Gael was a fast learner so soon he became quite good with a bow. He also had a knack for scavenging and surviving out in the wilderness so he was often brought out for hunts or watching over the animals in the tribe.
Gael became no stranger to battle has he often did so against rival tribes that were trying to take their land or bandits trying to ransack their village. There was a growing mistrust of foreigners due to the frequent bandit attacks. Unlike some of his generation Gael had left the comforts of the motherland and went to other countries. He always enjoyed his time and was rather curious about how other countries operated. Gael would learn quite a lot from his father about other countries and world history. A growing thirst for adventure grew within Gael. A thirst he wasn't sure if he would able to satisfy. Unbeknownst to him was the fact that his world was going change immensely.
