Name: Faith
Class: Squire
Age: 16
Born in: Remi, Ilia
Appearance: Faith is a slim, fit young woman, who possesses muscles that are remarkably defined for her age. She is not what you might categorize as exceptionally strong, but lifting and carrying boxes, toting stone, and chopping trees have all given her the capable strength she is proud of. Her clothing modestly conceals these muscles, though, and the military dress she wears leaves everything to the imagination, revealing nothing about what is underneath. Curves? Better imagine them. Bust? Imagine that too. The only truly exposed portions of her body, save her face, are her forearms and most of her legs. Slightly tanned, but pale like most Ilians, the skin of her legs is crisp and unblemished, blending nicely with her Pegasus.
Her military garb is in contrast to her facial features; the former is a standard-issue Pegasus Knight’s dress, made of tough and durable fabric designed for combat, not comfort. Her unit’s attire includes light armor, which is a dark blue-black color with gold accents. She wears the armor proudly, though as of yet it has not had the opportunity to protect her from much more than training spears.
Faith's face, by contrast, is quite memorable. Is is not what most would immediately call pretty, though it certainly is striking. Her sharp, well-defined eyebrows often are in a slight glare, and her brown hair is neither particularly long or luscious, simply combed out of the way with practicality in mind. When she walks, she does so without air, and her face remains set in a look of simple determination, devoid of the coyness or flirtatious twinges that young women often utilize.
Personality: Faith has an interesting mindset on life, which dictates every action she takes. Independent-minded to a fault ordinarily, her personality turns one hundred an eighty degrees when on duty. She will follow any order to the letter, carrying her charge and performing to the extremes of reason, never abandoning a task until it is either complete or she is relieved of the responsibility.
She takes her training with the utmost seriousness, and continues to practice her lance work, her flying skills, and her combat smarts. Often times, she forsakes hours of sleep to read up on military strategy or survival skills. Her devotion to Ilia and its military is unwavering, and she often will burst out to argue with any who disparage either of the aforementioned. Though it has led to some scrapes, she usually escaped with pride intact, and always her bones. A few bruises were inevitable.
When she is not training or reading about her training, Faith's patient and steadfast personality makes her a good candidate for art, and she is indeed a remarkably skilled sketch artist. She draws scenes she sees, taking in details and reproducing them fastidiously with just the right amount of magical realism. Drawing makes her relaxed, and she likes to hum while she works, making up little tunes that often bring her face into a rare smile.
Story: Born in Remi, to a lower class family, she did not often have the opportunities of the wealthier middle and upper classes. Her father, who was the unsuccessful son of a successful merchant, taught her to read and write, but could not afford the more prestigious schools or the more affluent neighborhoods that often were the first steps on the road to future success. With little dowry for marriage, the military became the only option for Faith, but, in her typically good-natured manner, she accepted it happily.
She joined Ilia's ranks, a Pegasus Knight in training, and was assigned to the Seventh Unit under the firm and respected commander Beatrice. The group, six recruits and their commanding officer, have been training diligently for months, preparing themselves for the task of defending their country from any threats. One of the seminal moments in her training occurred when she was sparring with another young recruit, under orders from her commander to fight 'until one of you two surrenders.'
Faith was bested early on, disarmed by a clever move, but immediately charged into the situation once more, catching the other girl off guard and gaining control of her wooden training lance. From there, the situation turned rapidly into a rout, with Faith choking her unit mate with the lance to force a surrender. Impressed, her commander made the situation two on one. Faith again refused to take the easier path of surrender, even when cornered, and spit in one of her opponent's eyes in order to briefly even the odds, fighting the other with such ferocity that she snapped the wooden 'lance' in two. Undeterred, she used both halves and ended up besting the two. Beatrice then pitted Faith against three opponents. Though she fought with the energy of a mother bear defending her cubs, the Squire was trounced, but she refused to surrender, actually passing out under the assault without ever yielding.
Now that the Etrurians have begun their invasion of Ilia, the Seventh Unit has been given orders to prepare for deployment. Faith has readied herself for this task, mind and body, and she is prepared for whatever the future will bring.
