Aeos mood darkened and soured as he listened to Gar’s tale. The dragon had expected some sort of thrilling tale of heroism not one of survival against a slaver's thumb. He watched Gar lift up his shirt and show him the brand of the slaves. A brand meant for cattle and sheep. Not one meant for humans. By the time Gar had finished his story Aeos was staring out into the fire. Gar wanted to kill that man. And Aeos did not blame him. The Nabatan had that wide eyed stare to nowhere. His mind couldn't quite register his emotions. His eyes changed a bit and his teeth became sharper then most.
“Gar.” He spoke after a long moment of silence. Something felt like it was welled up in his chest.
“I hope you do kill him.” He muttered.
“I.. don't like it when people harm my friends and family.” His hands seemed to have found the ends of his cloak. He was wringing the fabric in his grip.
“Injustices.. like slavery. I don't like that either. I'm so sorry you had to go through that Gar.” He was shaking a bit. We need to kill this slaver. He shook his head. Impressions of his scales were starting to creep their way onto his skin.
“I'm.. sorry. Sometimes my.. power...it's tied to my emotions. I am.. upset. Gar.. no one should have gone through that.” He kept wringing his hands.
“Part of me wants to fling you on my back and fly towards that awful man. Have you enact your revenge and to free all those caught by him.” He let go of the fabric and rubbed his eyes. Even if he had the strength and courage to do that he'd have no idea where to go.
“Another part of me wishes to kill him myself.” It was a strange emotion to experience. Aeos was not accustomed to wanting to inflict harm upon people. I mean sure there were moments when he wanted to punch some folks. But that was about it. No other harm outside of a minor beat down. But this.. this feeling he felt.. it was much more intense than merely wanting to hurt someone. Then merely wanting fight to prove his strength. No.. the emotions he felt against this Bullring.. was something darker. He was raised not to hate things, because hatred leads to death. Disliking things was fine. It was impossible to love everything. Aeos knew hatred as something like a disease. A terrible disease. One that is contagious and causes nothing but suffering, strife, and misery for all those involved. And yet here he was hating a man he never met. He had no idea what this Bullman's story was. What his upbringing was. All he knew was that this man hurt and tortured Gar… and he wanted that man dead.
“I wish I-I co-could join you. But, I fear I-I might.. not have.. a solid grip on my strength. I-I might end up doing so-something awful.” His scales were very visible on his skin. They caught the orange of the fire and burned. He was trembling a bit too, it wasn't from the cold. He kept his face covered with his hands. He could feel tears trickling down. He needed to calm down. He took deep breaths and calmed down. His scales. Skin slowly dissipated into regular human skin. The rest of his features changed back to normal to.
“Something happened in the village. I did something with my half form.. something with my full form. I DON'T know what it was… but I DO know it was tied to me being afraid.. desperate.. And you saw the destruction.” His mind traveled to horror stories of the Scouring. Of dragons who wrought untold destruction upon civilizations. And of the humans who rise up to fight them with equally horrible weapons. He didn't want to end up like them.
“I do not want to know the damages I can cause when I have that power with intention of vengeance.” He shuddered at the notion. The other part of him was silent. But, he could feel it, pulsating, trying to goad him into a full change. It wants to help Gar. It wanted to hurt that other man. Even though it knew its energy reserves were low.
"Even though that Bullman is a monster oft the worst kind.. I do.. not want to endanger the lives of other humans."

Gar wouldn’t have it any other way. He already felt somewhat stupid for dwelling on vengeance for so long. He couldn’t believe he was going to return to the place where he was so powerless. He was going to risk being enslaved again, losing everything. Gar couldn’t take Aeos into a situation like that. Even more so now that Gar knew what he knew. “I appreciate the sentiment, but he is my enemy. And I agree. Just based on what you did to that village, who knows how many innocents could be hurt. Even if the majority of the casualties were scumbag slavers. We need a more controlled power.” Gar glanced at Junzentaru.
For some reason, this conversation made Gar had make up his mind. He was going back. He would be returning to Caledonia. If Aeos would have done the same thing, then maybe I’m not being a fool. It was reassuring to know that Aeos, the centuries old, meditating, world travelling, nomad agreed with the twenty three year old swashbuckler. This meant that this was something that had to be done. Bullring had to be removed from Caledonia.
This thought led to a breakthrough of sorts. Taking out the slaver wasn’t just for revenge. It would make the Isles a better place, a safer place. It would free slaves and the industry itself would certainly take a hit. Gar’s resolve had been bolstered. “Thank you Aeos. I now know what I need to do. I will return to Bullring’s fort. I will dismantle his slave trade and end his live.” It was the right thing to do. Even though it was risky and painful to return.

OOC- Feel free to move us along to the next morning.
"I am glad to hear that. And that you understand." He let out a bit of a sigh. He then remembered his reason for climbing up to the mountain village int he first place. He needed supplies for his trip up towards the loft peaks. His power was growing and he needed to let it loose, to test it's limits, in an isolated setting.
"I hope you do stop him. Do not let fear control you. Raise an army and bring that man to his end. Free the people my good man." He spoke calmly and raised his hand to his friends shoulder.
"As for me.. I will need some more time on these mountains. I need to fully understand.. what I did in the village." He looked at his hand for a moment. His mind was trying to piece together what he did with his fist. And how he could do it again. He shook his head lightly. He will figure this out. He will figure it out and use that new talent to better defend himself and his comrades.
"There's one other thing I want to show you Gar. My full dragon form. So that one day if I am forced to change.. you be not afraid of it." He tried to think of how he can describe his dragon form. There were too many features to his dragon body that he simply couldn't find the right words too.
"I need a good night's rest before I can show you though." The Nabatan man did look very tired.

Do not let fear control you. Raise an army and bring that man to his end. Free the people my good man.
Gar had to nod. Aeos’ support meant the world to him. More than he would be able to communicate with words, so hopefully, a simple nod would suffice. Then, Aeos went on to explain what he would be doing from this point forward. To remain in the hills and reconcile his actions in the village. Gar was unhappy that their paths had to diverge so soon after reuniting. However, he had faith that they would meet again, under better circumstances.
Aeos wanted to show him his ‘true’ form. As far as Gar was concerned this was his true form, the tan Nabatan man with long hair and a strange dialect. But apparently he was incorrect and he would have to accept that. This man was a dragon. Seeing it in person gave Gar pause. This form took out a village in an instant after all. “…Aye.” He hesitated, if only for a moment, before he agreed. Gar wished he could’ve agreed immediately, but he could not. Aeos was right, if the time came where they needed such a power, Gar would have to be able to fight without fear. You are aware I can mitigate that fear. But I am in agreement. Not to mention I would like to see this true form of his, if only to feed my own understanding.
Gar nodded and said it once again. “Aye. I should see it.” Hell I deserve to see it. We’ve fought together time and again and he’s been holding back this whole time? Gar smirked at the thought even though he understood and agreed with Aeos’ reasons.
A good night’s rest was needed. It had been a stressful night. Gar removed his bandanna and placed it on the ground near the tree that he had tied Aeos against. The ropes still laid on the roots at the base of the tree. Gar laid down, placing his face against the cloth of his bandanna. Some of his beard hairs poked through the cloth, but the pirate was used to the sensation. It soothed him.
“Rest up, mate.”

"Aye, I will. Good night." He responded with a tired voice.
Aeos stayed awake for a while. He pulled from his pack a his sleeping blanket. It was a well kept and well worn thing. Something his mother made for him a long time ago. A blanket he used to keep himself warm in the chill of the night. He wrapped it around himself and lied down on the ground. His pack made for a decent pillow. Even though he had fallen unconscious, slept through several hours of the day, he felt as if he hadn't slept at all. He managed to make himself decently comfortable on the cold hard ground and went to sleep. The campfire burned quietly through the night until the next day.
He woke up before dawn out of habit. The campfire had gone out. Aeos took some twigs, some flint, and gently rekindled the flames. There wasn't much of a fire, but it would be enough to boil water. He prepared his kettle and set it by the fire. Soon, the sweet smell of tea filled the air. Aeos rubbed the sleep from his eyes and tried to think about what to do about breakfast. The air of the mountains was full of mist. As if the dew of the day had not yet fully settled upon the ground. He took a moment to simply stand there and take it all in. He took a quick moment to gather some wood for the fire. By the time he returned, the kettle was hissing. He removed the kettle from the flame and poured himself half a mug of tea. Soon, it would be time to show Gar his dragon form. Wonder what his reaction will be?

Gar had been snoring. He was exhausted. After everything that had transpired the past day it had to be expected that he would sleep in. He had hiked the mountains, fought corruption, dragged a friend from a crater, later accused that friend of being a horror and then learned a new truth about the world. Gar needed his sleep. A nice aroma filled the air. It reminded him of his parent's place, his mother used to make some type of Sacaean tea that made him excited. As if it would still be enough to stir Gar from his slumber. There was a sound of boiling water that followed did manage to wake the pirate. Gar sat up and looked around to regain his bearings. Junzentaru was still laid against the tree.
“Mornin mate!” Gar smiled at Aeos. There was a small amount of tension that Gar wasn’t going to call attention to. After all, if either of them had been deceiving the other, they would’ve made a move over the night. At this time, all that remained was the final proof for a sailor. To see it with my own eyes. Anyone can claim to see a dragon, but this is different. I can’t believe I once doubted the very existence of my own friend. It was the moment of truth, so to speak. Gar knew this was something that was needed to happen this morning. The pirate wanted to know, regardless if anyone else would believe him.
“That’s right.” Gar stood and stretched. With a yawn that sounded more like a Yarr, the pirate rested his back against the very tree that Aeos was tied to the night before, but with an almost opposite feeling. Gar tilted his chin.
“Let’s see it.”

"Sleep well?" The Nabatan commented as he handed his friend the mug of tea. The tea was a plain one. Aeos was short on supplies to enhance the flavors of the drink. But, the warm drink would help warm up the young sailor.
"No sugar i'm afraid." He commented before he picked up his old blanket and folded it and placed it back into his bag.
"Ah, eagar to see it huh?" I'm a little afraid to show it. Are you serious?! The other part of him was awake. Hell no! We are showing off! He almost laughed a bit to himself. He wondered when the other personality of himself would wake. Sometimes, it would be awake before him. Other times it would wake with him.
"Well.. I should warn you. My form is large. A sudden.. change in growth like that might hurt you. I have decided to head into the woods and approach the camp slowly. I must tread carefully so as not to disturb the trees." He glanced around. There were certainly a whole lot of trees.
"Ah.. while I am in my dragon form.. I cannot speak the words of man. I mean.. well technically I can.. but.. it's uh.. intelligible.." He scratched the back of his head. Dragon vocal chords were very different then human vocal chords.
"I won't bite. Promise." He smiled softly. He fed a few more twigs to the fire before sighing and heading off. He was a fair bit away from the campsite. The mist in the air had given him some cover. This was good, it would give his dragon form a more imposing effect. Not that he really needed it to be any more imposing that it already was. He was a frikken dragon and Gar was a tiny human. He held his head briefly. He needed to get a hold of himself if he was going to do this right. He focused and let the power of his stone course through him. He could feel it in his veins, it pulsated with his heart beat. His features changed and his skin started to segment into scales.
"And.. this is the part I dislike." He muttered to himself and got down on his hands and knees. He was so accustomed to walking around in his human form. The power of his element flooded through him. The wind responded to him, swirling over his body like a mini tornado. The leaves it kicked up covered him. His body glowed and morphed. His size grew in both length and height. Gone was the form of man replaced by that of a dragon. A creature that was roughly twelve meters high and about eighteen meters long. His form appeared to be that of the western dragon that litter the various picture books of men. However, he seemed to be a bit longer and slender then most. This was due to his mother's serpentine influence. Sandy colored scales were etched all over his body. Scales that appeared to glow golden in the sunlight. The bottom end of his body had a lighter scale coat to them. His wings were a long and started from his shoulder and extended down to the base of his tail. When unfurled they were as long and tall as he was. They had to be in order to help push his immense size off the ground and into the air. He made sure they were tucked in so as not to disturb the trees. He had four limbs, each with a talon, and claw. Six black horns dotted over his head. Two on top of his head and two sets that dotted both sides of the base of his face. Outside of those horns the rest of his body was smooth so as to reduce drag while flying in the air.
But, this, this was his true form. And now he had to move this massive version of himself over towards the camp. And he had to move himself delicately so as not to cause destruction to the forest. And so he approached. Nothing could really hide the thumping noise of his feet as they hit the ground. Even if he was trying his best to be gentle. He was just too heavy. He did try to keep himself a bit lower to the ground so that his head would be at least somewhat at human height so as not to startle Gar. That made his walking even more awkward. It wasn't long before he appeared though the mist. His familiar green eyes scanning the camp for his friend.

Gar was planted against the tree. He accepted the cup of tea, it was warm to the touch. It was nice to take some of the chill out of the morning air. Blowing upon its surface before taking a drink.I imagine you would’ve preferred a stronger libation. Aeos walked off into the woods after a few words of preparation. The pirate gathered his bandanna from the dirt and shook it out. He ran a hand over his hair before tying the cloth around his head in his typical fashion. Gar sipped the warm tea as he waited for Aeos’ return.
Noises grew closer and Gar squinted his eyes through the fog. Then he appeared. His heart was racing as his friend emerged from the fog. He thought he was prepared for the sight, but he had never been quite this wrong before. Aeos became more than a giant, nothing like that giant Jabal guy. Gar had to reach behind himself and draw courage from Junzentaru simply to keep his knees from buckling. He stood speechless for quite a while before thoughts truly began to form in his brain. Quite the sight. Wouldn’t you agree? Gar opened his mouth without speaking.
The stories finally made sense. Only a true hero would dare face these beings in combat. Gar didn’t even want to think about what would happen if he ever had to face one in such a fashion. Even facing his own friend left his paralyzed. It was a paralysis that stemmed not only from fear, but amazement. Gar’s eyes tracked the new form of his friend. Beige scales, claws, talons, horns and wings. What was it like to fly on one’s own power? Gar, for a moment wondered what kind of dragon he would be. The thought didn’t last long. He knew with his boisterous nature, he would’ve been slain long ago.
Then, back to reality, as real as it may be. Gar’s eyes met Aeos’, well they could only focus on one at a time, but they definitely belonged to Aeos. This realization gave Gar cause to relax in front of this new form. He could able to come to terms with standing in front of a true dragon. He spoke a few words knowing full well Aeos just said he wouldn’t be able to respond intelligibly. “Aeos, my friend.” He reached a hand out to touch the dragon’s shoulder. His hand moved slowly, but deliberately. He didn’t quite know exactly where the dragon’s shoulder was so Gar simply placed his hand on Aeos’ side.
Gar allowed a smile to reach his lips.

Aeos just stood there. He was on all fours and curled up like a cat. All four feet tucked in under himself and he was on his belly. Even like this tucked down close to the ground he was more than twice the size of a man. Aeos noticed that his companion was a little startled but that was expected.
The air around the dragon was pure and fresh. It was nice. And Gar was touching him now, his hand on his shoulder. Bare hands touching his scalded skin. This was a good start to this whole humans and dragon trust thing. He turned his head to follow Gar as he examined the rest of his body.
Aeos let out a soft sigh. A green tinted mist of condensed wind magic flared out of his nostrils. Harmless. And identical to the visible breath seen on cold days. But, that was it. He could feel his power waning. He couldn't stay in his dragon form for long. He gently shook his body so as to draw Gar away. He got up on his back legs slowly. Aeos height on his back legs rivaled that of large boulders and pillar temples.
He glanced down at Gar. Assured himself he was safe then slowly started to morph back to his human form. A soft glow enveloped his body and slowly brought him back down to size. Draconic features faded and he returned back to the human form he was accustomed too. He was a slight shade paler than he was prior.
“Sorry.” He spoke with a slightly rushed breath. The Nabatan spent the whole night resting and now he suddenly felt like he needed to rest all over again.
“I cannot maintain that form for long. Too much of a toll on the body.” He spoke and dusted the dirt off of his hands.

A breath of clean air passed Gar’s shoulder before Aeos shifted his body. The transformation removed Gar's hand from his shoulder and forced him to take a step or two back. The pirate had never seen anything like this before. A dragon was becoming a human directly in front of his eyes. Beige scales became tan skin. Black horns turned into the smooth black hair that Gar was able to recognize. The Aeos that the pirate knew was back, but he was tired.
There was nothing for Aeos to apologize for. “Don’t worry mate. We’re far enough away from the corruption. They couldn’t catch us, even if they had minds.” Gar looked around the campsite. “Rest up mate. I’ll get us some food.” The pirate was invigorated with the knowledge that, well dragons are real. One of those dragons was one of his best friends. Gar gripped his iron axe and took off into the misty woods, leaving Junzentaru behind, planted against a tree. June took this opportunity to attempt to communicate with Aeos directly. You certainly are an astonishing being, Aeos. I’m curious if you have the capability to hear my voice.
Gar returned with a slain rabbit and a few mushrooms that he found to be edible. The pirate came back with a few minor scrapes and bruises that he would absolutely laugh at if anyone brought them up. Gar cut and placed the rabbit by the side of the fire pit. He turned to Aeos. “We gotta head or separate ways, yeah?”
“I can’t wait ‘til we see each other again.” Gar said this for a couple reasons. He knew he would have better control over June by then. He also assumed that Aeos would similarly have better control over his true state. But above all that, Gar would be able to spend time with his friend again. Gar gripped his magical weapon and placed it at his hip. The pirate rose and nodded at Aeos. He turned and walked off into the woods. There was a certain bull-ringed man that needed taking care of.

"Hmm." He agreed. And skies above he was exhausted. Gar placed his axe down on a nearby tree. To which Aeos sat down and leaned against. He could feel his mind and body slipping away into the peaceful darkness of sleep. But he glanced over at the Axe. June had attempted to communicate with him. The dragon could see that by the manner of glow June was exerting. It was a shame he couldn't hear it. And this was a normal thing with dragons. At least that's what he was told. Something about magic messing around with magic. Whatever the reason dragons cannot hear the voices of magic weapons. Their voices would be forever fall on deaf ears, which was a shame because he really wanted to hear June's story.
Aeos reached his hand over and grabbed the handle of the axe. He spoke to it out loud.
"June.. I can't hear you. I know.. you are trying to talk to me.. but.. We.. are both beings of magic.. and.. it just doesn't work." He sighed. A tired heavy sigh.
"But, I know you can hear me... I know.. we are similar. Spirit.. souls.. whatever you want to call it.. stuck in something unchanging in a forever changing world.. We.. are beings that will outlive our human companions.. and that.. is a sad and terrifying thing. I.. " He wiped away something from his eye. A tear or at least the beginnings of tears. He didn't want to think about having to watch the friends he made die whether in battle or by old age.
"Look.. I want you to keep Gar safe for as long as you can. I know.. he tends to think more with his heart or gut then he does with head. But, if you can do that for me.. protect him when I cannot.." He paused for a moment thinking about what to say.
"I promise.. one day I will find you. No matter how many human lives we out live.. or the many miles ye be travelin with those people.. I'll find you.. And take care of you. I may not ever be able to use you.. but.. I'll take care of you. I'll find a place for us.. so that neither will be alone in the future that is to come." He looked at the holy axe. He studied it. Imprinted it's design into his memory. He would never forget Junzentaru. He would never forget Gar. He'd never forget yesterday or today. The dragon man let go of the axe and put his hand over his chest.
He pulled his cloak over his shoulders and nestled into the tree. He closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep. When he woke up Gar had returned with a rabbit and some mushrooms. Ah mushrooms he had fond memories of the strange plant. Some good memories some bad some involving puke.
"Thank you Gar." That was the most he could muster. Once the rabbit was cooked he took his share of the food and munched. He could feel some of his strength returning.
"Yes. We must both move on." He nodded and then watched as Gar went into the woods.
"Good luck my friend."Both of you. Good luck.
