There was a particular compulsion. It drew him onward. Through the soft verdite fields before him and into the quietly chilling climate of Ilia. From Etruria to it's borders, and then from the siege lines of Remi to the cave that he now felt his gut leading him to. Even when he was tending the wounded of the Etrurian forces, he'd felt it. A faint voice. Quietly pulling at his mind. In-fact, ever since the battle with the shadowy monstrosity that could command the undead he'd felt it. A strong urge.
So here he was. Clad in his blue usual robes with pale digits clutching tightly at the staff he'd been using since he first learned to command healing magics, quietly lifting his gaze upwards to the roof of a cave he quietly motioned to enter within some unknown point near the Ilian-Etrurian border. The silence punctuated by his foot-steps as he tried to gauge what precisely filled this dark place. He must've been close though to what ever he suspected within, because his gut instinct got stronger with every forward step even as the shaggy haired priest actually entered it.
There was, after all, nothing more comforting than an empty cave right? That was just a natural focal point for all the warm fuzzy thoughts and sentiments. Thankfully, the orphans were still safely at home, because he couldn't shake the feeling that this little exploration would turn into a journey that they were best not invited upon. Though he couldn't see the children actually liking it. Though fearless they seemed, especially in Amelia's case, they were not invulnerable to fear. Especially fears that evoked sensations of isolation. That much he was glad they'd be exposed to no longer as well.
A soft rap of his staff's butt against the rocky surface, and he channeled energy within the sapphire like orb atop his stave. Light burst forth to a brilliant glistening blue shade that allowed him to see further when he began striding forwards. The compulsion guiding him. What ever he was meant to find...it was here. It was close. He could also hear the faint dripping sounds of water. Faint ghostly disruptions to the silence of the rather desolate cavern. Truly. No real signs of life to be found. Not even leavings from any nocturnal species. No fluttering wings. No scratching claws. The only sounds came from him and the assorted water drops from the hanging stalactites of darkened grey hues.
Every so often he'd see the rather intimidating sight of stalagmites and stalactites in the same approximate location. The light painting a swath of radiance along them simply cast shadows behind, creating the ferocious image that they were teeth within some great maw of a monstrous fiend smiling to him. Not exactly a sensation he wanted when he was devoid of hispetFriend the murder dragon Nayru. Perhaps this is what she felt when exploring alone? The crushing silence forming some desolate notion? He couldn't be sure. All he did know? This place sent chills down his spine, and it wasn't from the cold.
