Personal Plot

So, you want to start forming your backstory into something for the world? Maybe another land, a company of soldiers, a magical accademy, whatever your backstory happens to be. Great! Fire Emblem: Way of the Warrior welcomes creative members who want to etch their mark onto the board's history.
However, with so many RPers and so many ideas of how to shape the future, there is bound to be conflict. Whether it be between two RPers, or between the RPer and board's current direction, this conflict can cause major problems if not properly organized. Thus, the moderation staff ask that if you are going to start a personal plot event that could effect one or more RPers other than yourself, please obtain mod permission to do so. We'll likely say yes, or if it is a problem, help you to fix it so that it fits. We want you to have the best time here at FE:WotW as you can, and we've placed this rule into effect so we don't have to get surprised when things pop up and kill plots that have already started because of conflict.
As a note, a mod being in your topic should not be confused as permission to continue. PM one of us with a synopsis of what you are doing and where it is going, and we'll discuss it among ourselves.
Now, it is important to remember that accepting or rejecting a plot is entirely up to mod discretion. More expansive, far-reaching plots are more likely to be allowed for more experienced, proven RPers than they would be for a newly arrived RPer. But this isn't always the case. If an RPer, however new, comes to a mod with the most bomb-diggity plot ever and has shown that they have put a lot of thought into it, then they are likely to have it accepted.
This is not favoritism, this is realism. If you come to a mod with a personal plot and the end result is "Shadow Dark becomes ruler of Elibe", or "Shadow Dark becomes the head of the League of Shadows" and the mods don't think you have the chops to pull it off effectively, it's a no go. In a similar vein, if you get a plot accepted and no players bite, it's a no go. An example of this is wanting to rule a country. Even if the mods greenlight the plot, if no players join your faction, you're not ruling the country.
ONE CANNOT RULE WITH NPCS ALONE!
If you want your backstory to have a big effect on the world, you can either work into it slowly and bit by bit, or wait till your character is much stronger to bring it in.
Finally, it should be noted that none of this is needed for small things. Saying you have a family member in a town you wound up in is fine. Saying you want to take down the bandits that took over your created-from-scratch village out in the countryside is fine. But saying you have a family member who has knowledge of a mod-organized event that you happen to be chasing is something you should double check with us. After all, we might have something planned, and you adding information on your own can screw that up.
