Double Wyvern Delivery (Dead thread)

Aria and Chewy looked over at the cargo they were to be delivering. A net full of crates and sacs full of relief aid for those in Larguz. The war with Ilia was over. The country was in the process of rebuilding itself. The people felt it necessary to put it's time and effort into rebuilding it's forts that had been damaged during the war. This care package from the citizens would help those whom were taking refuge in the wyvern academy. The crates were packed with things like clothes, food, and building supplies.

The order was a bit of a rush job. Supposedly the weather was supposed to sour sometime next week. The people there would need this cargo to help weather out the storm. So rather then have this cargo travel by wagon, it was agreed that the cargo would be delivered by wyvern. Unfortunately this load was a bit too heavy for one wyvern to carry. So a request was made for a second rider to deliver the goods. Aria sighed as she tried to adjust the harness on Chewy.

"Come on Chew. I know you don't like these sort of jobs.. but we need the income. And hey.. look on the bright side.. were going back to the academy. You can see all those other wyverns who used to pick on you." She spoke to the reddish wyvern. The brick colored creature was having none of this. She stomped and flailed and made Aria's job difficult. As was in proper Chewy fashion. Aria was eventually forced to undo the harness and let her wyvern roam free.

"Well this job is going well already."

Minutes passed, and Newo spotted the large crates. Flying over head, she landed Blum about twenty five meters from the crates and casually dismounted. The Wyvern snorted as it raised its head, looking around. Newo turned around, smiling with her hands on her hips and staring her partner in the eyes. "Okay Blummy, mama is gonna go meet our partner for this job okay? Money is tight in the brigade so we all have to pitch in on odd jobs." The Wyvern snorted in response, slightly reluctant to do work as always, but willing all the same. The Wyvern gently lowered his head as if to nuzzle Newo, as she wrapped his head in her arms. "Good. Alright, go see if the other Wyvern would like to play okay?" With that, Blum raised his head, taking a sniff and raising his light blue wings, he let out a shriek and sauntered off slowly to the other wyvern's direction.

Newo then walked to the cargo, sporting the supposed other rider and quickly shouted. "Hi there!" Newo quickly jogged over, stopping a few feet from the woman and waved awkwardly with an oversized from upon her face. "Hello! My name's Newo!Who and how are you? What's your wyvern's name?" The girl continued to wave all the while, smiling as her turquoise armor reflected in the light, her eyes twinkling with excitement as the badge placed upon the belt strapped to her torso shined brightly, her ginger hair swaying slightly as she decided to let it down today, her curls straying free.

Chewy was busy running around much to Aria's dismay. The sky haired rider gave a heavy sigh. She was in no mood for Chewy's antics. Especially when they were on a time limit. The second rider would be here any moment too, and she didn't want to be embarrassed by her wyvern. As she turned around to grab a strap, the second rider approached. Aria was surprised to see that the rider was another woman. The rider introduced herself as Newo. Not the kind of name Aria would have chosen for a child but she shouldn't be one to judge. She did name her wyvern Chewy. Aria waved lightly and introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Aria. The oversized bundle of red scales running around back there is Chewy." He pointed her thumb over her shoulder. She pointed out towards the general direction of Chewy. Who true enough was busy "hiding" behind a very thin pole.

"She's usually very friendly and open. But, today she seemed to have woken up on the wrong end of her nest. And is just being a royal pain in my side. She hates the harness used for these sort of jobs." Aria life's up the harness. A standard harness with several metal loops meant to tie the ropes of the cargo net in place.

"Shape wise it's no different from a regular harness. But, she's associated this with work and queen lazy pants over there wants none of it." She could hear Chewy growl in defiance. Chewy knew when Aria spoke poorly of her. She sighed again.

"Sorry in advance for the delay." She scratched the back of her head.

"Anyway, So where you from and what's your wyverns name?"

"Oh I live in Delfi, but I was born in Jutes. As far my big, blue bundle of scales here..." Immediately Blum's head curled around the cargo, the spiked snot giving the air a sniff as the wyvern's neck lowered,nuzzling against Newo's right side. In response, she slowly began to rub the mount' s head. The girl giggled out her next words. "This is Blummykins!" Instantly, the Wyvern let out a snort of annoyance, yet he did not retract his head from the rider's caress. "Or you can call him by his preferred name, Blum."

Newo began to gaze upon the harness in awe. It looked similar to the typical medical evacuation harnesses she would use, but it was obvious this one focused less on cargo comfort. Which made sense, considering the objects where inanimate. Newo looked back down at the rider and grinned. "You have such a pretty name and hair! Hehe. So tell me, does Chewy play well with other wyverns?" Blum rolled his right eye in a sign of reluctance, considering this wasn't the first time he had heard the upcoming proposition, nor would it be the last. Newo beamed brightly, continuously running her Wyvern as she pipped up "Maybe after this we should let them play around! We could do tea on me while they do it!" The sheer tenacity of the girl to make friends never connected in her own mind. Carelessly inviting people she had just met, offering time and refreshments. It seemed that she would never be satisfied until everyone smiled as much as her, which some would suggest was too damn often. She cocked her head lightly, opening her mouth to say "So, sound like fun?"

"Blummykins is an adorable name." She smiled. The green skinned wyvern was quite a sight. And Aria could instantly see that this wyvern wasn't one of her family's home grown and bred wyverns. Red eyes and green skin color pallets were rare but not unheard of. Aria's family wyverns were often black or grey. Sometimes they'd come out red like Chewy. Or blue. Or Olive. It all mattered on whether or not the wyverns were bred with other captive wyverns or if they eloped with some of the random wild wyverns. The family ranch was in a fairly large open area. Wild Wyverns could fly in at anytime.

The only way one could tell who successfully bred with whom was when the eggs hatched. The ranch wyverns that were bred to serve the army and match the various colors of the mountains of Bern. Although sometimes they were given special requests to breed specific traits like colors or horns for nobility. Aria glossed over at the wyvern. She could instantly tell that this wyvern was male, he was healthy, and of adult size, and weight. He was perfect. Perfect for a job of cargo delivery.

"Blummy's a rare wyvern color. Looks.. like he's bred from the low land wyverns. Those that live closer to the forests of Bern rather then the mountains. Maybe mixed with some of the coastal variants.. He's got nice talons.. most of his teeth.. and few scars. You've taken great care of him." Aria raised her hand up towards Blum's snout. She waited for him to sniff it and either accept or reject the hand. The outcome of that would determine if she would pet Blum or put her hand down.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to info dump all that on you. I come from a family of wyvern ranchers here in Lucerne. So I tend to notice the little details of wyverns." She explained.
"He's a beaut. And perfect for the job too."
