Name:Rougarou
Class:General
Age:36
Born in:Khan Yunis, Nabata
Appearance:"Fight with your head or lose it."
Rougarou is a beast of a man. Standing at about 6'6" with a brawny and imposing endomorph build and dark bronzed skin create the image of a man that is only talked about in legends. His face, despite starting to its age, is still that of a world warrior with a square jaw, piercing hazel eyes, and a air of confidence that comes from a man who has lived through much and through some things that he shouldn't have. His armor speaks volumes about his character. He is covered from the neck down in a large full suit of plated, deep cyan blue steel and gold accented armor with larger than normal shoulder plates topped with 3 4-inch spikes. The only thing that sits upon his head besides some long black hair is a golden circlet style headdress.
Personality:"Imposing your will... is a matter of strength."
Rougarou is a man that expects two things from everyone he meets. That you respect him, and that you serve under him. Those who are unwilling to do either are swiftly dealt with through combat. When it comes down to it, his way of life boils down to might makes right. If you are weaker than Rougarou, you are wrong and you will be forced back in line. If you are unwilling to fight for your beliefs, then you have no rights, control, or say in deciding the way the world shall become. If you at least put up a decent fight, Rougarou will at least let you speak your mind. And if by some chance you beat Rougarou, then your way is correct or that's how its suppose to go, as he has yet to meet anyone who he would willingly bend a knee to.
Story:"My destiny is clear. All of Elbe shall be mine!"
The man that is now known as Rougarou today was not always the war and conquest hungry monster he had become. While his desire for fights was not something new in his youth, his intentions were a lot more nobler or at least less cruel. At the age of 7 Rougarou parents sold the child into the service to one of Khan Yunis' less scrupulous harbor masters where for 11 years of his life he lifted cargo on and off of boats day in and day out. The only thing that Rougarou could do to break up the tedium of his youth was to watch the bare knuckle fights between the dock workers would sometimes put on to settle grudges or to bet on. It wasn't a very disciplined way to learn to fight, but the young Rougarou picked up on the techniques on every sailor through sight alone and at the age of 16, he stepped into the ring where he quickly stood out among his peers for the next 2 years with an aggressive and never say die style of fist fighting. While he racked up an impressive record of 22-5 wins to loses, the fights were not enough to quell a desire for to explore the world and get stronger. He knew he was destined for greater things and this harbor was not going to be the only place he was known. He wouldn't allow it.
Once he turned 18 the youth made plans to escape hid himself away on one of the ships that was heading to Bern where rumors of a civil war between the country's military and royalty were the things that sailor and local alike would talk about nonstop at the time. He was successful at staying hidden until the boat arrived in Bern, but when it was time to get off the boat, The youth made an unintentionally grand entrance when he was found aboard the ship. He tried to fight his way off the ship, successfully knocking out 6 of the ships sailors before the rest of the crew overpowered and restrained him until soldiers still loyal to the crown came and picked the stowaway up. The king at the time, who was in desperate need of warriors who were worth their weight in gold offered the youth an ultimatum, be imprisoned for assaulting several workers on the crown's payroll, or be drafted into the kings army. Needless to say, a life of fighting was preferable to rotting away in a cell and the young man was given a short but proper military training regiment where his reckless fighting style matured quickly into that of a proper warrior where he found an appreciation for the lance. Every waking moment was spent trying to set himself among his peers. From exercises to actual skirmishes with the enemy troops, Rougarou made sure he was never even thought of second best and his skills and ego grew, much to the chagrin of his comrades in arms Despite making a considerable reputation for himself tearing through battalions of the rebellion soldiers, Rougarou's efforts were not enough to change the favor of the civil war in the royals favor and outside help from Ilia was necessary for victory. To Rougarou, this intervention did not only feel like a spit in the face, but a sign that this king was unworthy of the crown he had on his head, though he did not express this sense of betray publicly he saw no future for the kingdom of Bern and made plans to become a deserter. During a large scale skirmish between the rebels and the Ilia mercenary army when in the former stowaway from Khan Yunis, made it seems as his pride got the better of him and ran head first into rebel army in attempt to prove his value to the crown over the mercenaries. In the ensuing chaos, Rougarou sneaked away from the battlefield and headed north. To this day, he doesn't know if he thought to be dead, or as a deserter.
For the next 14 years, Rougarou would travel around all of Elbe as masked, low-key mercenary taking jobs from men and women of the land that were in need of extra muscle. While the pay was great, in truth, this business policy was not only to used to train himself against a better crop of warrior instead of just thugs and common rabble, but also a way to observe the nobles and kings to see if any of them would have the ideals he would seek in someone worth following. From Etruria to Sacae, Ilia, and the Western Isles, he would travel, training against an ever changing wave of opponents and seeking his ideal master. However, the longer his quest went on, the more his hatred for leaders of this world grew. Each leader sounded more ridiculous or and spineless than the last. Those who spoke of glory through war only meant it to the extent of taking care of there personal petty squabbles. Those who followed and preached the ways of their gods were seen as delusional and unable to carve their own destines. And those who spoke of peace through non-violence were looked down upon as peace would forever be a fools dream as long as individual human thought was a constant. After traveling the content of Elbe more times than he could count, the faceless mercenary faded into obscurity, never to be heard from again until he would decide to re-emerge.
That time would be 4 years later when the man now going by the name of Rougarou, had one realization and several goals in mind. Since he was unable to find a leader worth following, he would build an army and become the man that all would follow. Be it out of respect, fear, or self-preservation. To those who spoke of glory through war, he would show them what such ambitions should truly look like. To those who would hide behind gods and false prophets, he would bring down their deities and kill them like he would any other mortal man. And to those who foolishly believed in peace, Rougarou would unite the entirety of Elbe and the world under his banner. Under one despotic rule.
