Looks like I am out voted, thought Bee to herself. She would have love to simply do things the easy way, but Mila did make a point. They did not know how many of the monsters were out there and walking in the light would make them a big target. Still Be had to wonder why everyone was so concern about the villagers. Clearly the guards can handle themselves. They had been doing so long before they arrived. Maybe there was something they all knew that she did not. maybe the horde was growing with each night. Either way the monsters would only feed her flames. Not only that but Bee had gained a new weapon since the last time she and Mila had meet. She had made some plans on how to use this special rod she had forged herself. If everything worked out well it would prove to be a new and powerful weapon. Just what she needed to take down a certain evil druid.
"Hold on a second", shouted Bee as she almost jumped out of her chair. "Are you telling me Mila that you have Gaea. the spell tome Gaea. Do you know what we can do with that!" A bit of drool began to flow out of Bee's mouth as her mind began to think on the possibilities. "If we combined your tome with my tome then we can release true hell on those undead bastards. Just imagine it balls of molten earth raining from the sky", shouted Bee as she raised her hands into the air making jester that followed her words. A glaze seemed to form over her eyes as she began to think on the molten destruction. To be honest Bee would have invested in a Gaea tome herself, but her sword pack with the spirits of fire prevented her from doing so. She would have to rely on her one element and that element alone. Still it did not stop her from working with Mila though. She remembered the last time they worked together. It was, well exhilarating.
"If your not up for dropping molten balls of lava on them we can always go for lava pit falls. Oh man just thinking about it makes me excited", spoke Bee as he cheeks flared up with blood.

As more and more questions and suggestions whirled about between the other travelers, Cen knit his hands together, with his elbows against his thighs, and leaned forward putting his chin against his hands. His own mind raced, grasping at reeds as they swirled past in a mighty river. A few seemed ideal, but he wasn't sure. They were all risky, and too much risk to the adventurers gathered here in defense of the civilians would become risk for the villagers. That was too much of a risk for him to take, so on the off chance they'd take the suggestion, he kept his mouth shut.
However, Mila, the head Wizard of this little venture spoke up, and an idea germinated in his mind. Magic had never been something the rider was comfortable with, it had seemed utterly unnatural. People creating lightning from their fingertips and arms of black energy wiggling about had not given the young man an impression that many Wizards were honest, however his tune had begun to slowly shift since his time visiting an old grave. If the shield he bore on his saddle did not have some ancient spell binding it, he would be dead, and that meant there was some truth in magic. It was a magic he could get behind, a type with roots, unmoving.
It seemed the earthen magic woke something in the fiery young pink haired woman, and she threw out a suggestion that seemed suitably destructive, but the Cornwellian though it might do to offer an alternative. "I don't know just what type of magicks you can do with... Guy-A-ah? But if you can make wall, it might be best to set them around one half of the town, or even around a safe space for the villagers. We can make it so that they can't come from all sides, making it easier to get them in a choke point, lahke you said. Or maybe, you could make pits beneath the monsters while they moved?" Cen scratched his head. He didn't know what lava was, but it didn't sound like it was the safest option. People could get hurt, or their homes destroyed. Of course, trying to defend that village in Bern reminded Cen of how little his opinion tended to matter. Who gives a damn about the Cornwellian when a man with slightly shinier armor shows himself after all?

Once again, Samantha stayed quiet as the others talked. From what she could make out, most if not all of them had fought these creatures before. Her initial concern of making the protection of the innocent people here their top priority had been addressed, so she decided it was best to let those who had more experience plan things out. If it came to it, she would offer her opinion or suggest something that the others had missed. If two separates ideas presented themselves, she had already determined that she would side with Mila. Mila was the reason she was here. Plus, they had some sort of... special bond that Sam was still unsure of.
Mila had her Gaea tome, and this Bee appeared to have some sort advanced fire tome. Sitting in her bag was the Fimbulvetr tome that she had found with Shara. It was still a work in progress, Sam's attempts at learning how to wield this new magic. She didn't mind at all, this was part of the enjoyment. Unlike her work with Wind magic, which she had a hard time wrapping her mind around, Fimbulvetr was coming along. It was still very difficult, but she was making noticeable progress.
Samantha understood that now might be a good time to bring this up to Mila, but she continued to stay quiet. While she was beginning to understand this new power, she wasn't confident enough to suggest it be relied upon in the heat of combat. In private, she was considering bringing this up to Mila, so that she knew about it. But for now, it would be something she kept in her bag unless the situation called for it.

So much focus on the town was to be expected but the local militia had handled themselves thus far, and so Vincent's honest concern was with the party not them. He agreed to the idea on making the wall to block the monsters out and focus the path of entry but it raised a question, "If we go on to block half the town with Mila's magic, how much strain will that put on you? I suspect that is an aweful lot work, and if we have to hold out then go to the fort in the morning, we will need you in good shape." He could not help but to recall the odd dream with the man in crimson.
This Bee was enthusiastic but she had a way of irritating Vincent. She got caught up in the prospect of combining their magics to create bouts of magma for extra devastation. They had not practiced this before and with lives on the line it would not be the time to start trying it out. He glared at her all throughout her excited clamoring. The prospect was interesting, even to him, but there was so much more to be concerned with than flair. He silently grunted to show his disapproval, something he rarely did, but he typically worked with those that understood the stakes and could remain focused. Bee was a danger to the team as he saw it.
Three out of five of them were mages and he himself had a magical sword so this may have been hypocritical but he worried they may have been placing too much reliance upon the magic. Human ingenuity and creativity was what Vincent trusted more, magic was like the last ditch effort of sending a siege engine against a man. The ideas were sound enough, but they seemed too taxing.
"We need to preserve energy while we can. Using too much magic needlessly will just ruin us. I propose we get the townsfolk to help us terraform the surrounding area first. If, we still need to, then we can expend the magic. This is their home too, so I am sure many would want to help."

"Bee. Calm yourself." She spoke with a bit of a firm tone. She knew how.. exiteable the short haired mage got when talking about fire. But the options she was presenting, did not amuse the sage one bit. She had seen the destructive forces of Bee's fire magic with the fort, and she did not want an incident like that happening again in the village. "Fire pits and traps like that are dangerous to the populace. I want us to be known as defenders of the village not it's destroyers. Plus.. uh.. you get a bit to fire happy and things tend to go awry when that happens." She tried to say that as delicately as possible. She hoped Bee wouldn't take that to heart. "But, yeah, Vin you've got a point. Too much magic might exhaust me to the point where i'm useless for the whole match. But, I still would like to at least DO something quickly before tomorrow night. They usually attack with the full or new moon. And tomorrow is the full moon." She paused for a moment trying to think on what more to do. Or what to be said. "I think I might go with Cen's idea of just using my magic to reinforce the defenses that are already in place." She could summon walls with ease thanks to Gaea. Pitfalls were a breeze. And if she did it early enough she could spend the day recovering before the battle. "The village is pretty well fortified." She pulled out a map. A wall surrounded the village and did a good job at keeping most things in or out. But the monsters liked to crawl out from the western woodlands. "Vin I like your idea. I wonder if it's possible to arrange a meeting with the guy who runs the watch and organize something. We can each split up and help the villagers work with what they have. Then meet up at a designated spot to fight the monsters back." She trailed a finger out towards the village's north western exit.

"Pshaw, you never let me have any fun", spoke Bee as she sat back down in her chair. The maiden took up a position close to a pouting child. Everyone was so sensitive about the village. It was not like Bee a novice, she could control her flames. Besides the lava pits would be outside the village. She does not see how that would affect the villagers. They were all so much prudes. They all feared fire instead of simply embracing it. With the current plan they were probably going to ban her from using her fire tome during the fighting.
Listening to the circumstances Bee was starting to wonder why the village had not done more. The monsters only attacked during the full moon and the new moon. That meant that they had all the other moons cycles to get ready or to figure out what was going on. If only they had all came after the last attack. They could have had all this solved already. Instead they were sitting here planning out a defense for people who did not want to get off there bottoms and defend themselves.
Bee gave of a long sigh. At this point she might as well get with the program and help out. The only real problem was that Bee only had fire magic. She had nothing else that would be useful. Then again she was a decent blacksmith. Maybe she could take some time to look over there old weapons. The fools probably were not even keeping them up.
"Well then Mila you don't mind If I talk to the local blacksmith about giving everyone's weapons a once over. You all might not know it, but I am a blacksmith by trade. My master even gave me his seal of approval adding me to his trade guild. So while you all are building extra walls and stuff I can give the gaurdsmen and town folks weapons a once over. Shoot if we had a mold I could make some stock blades up for the ones who don't have any. It won't be as good as a forged blade, but it will pierce flesh."

So that was it. Everyone was going to go out of their way to do what they could to help defend the town. Everyone had the role that fit them best because they picked it. They agreed to meet back here on the morning of the next day. They would regroup, discuss what they have done, and figure out a new game plan from there. Mila cracked her knuckles and then got up. She dismissed the group and everyone was off on their own way. Mila headed off. Her job was to talk to the guard and figure out what walls needed what reinforcements. She would also talk to the leader of the town militia and figure out where would her group do best once they were all together.
Arranging a meeting with the captain of the guard was a bit difficult. She spoke to several knights before she was led towards the correct guard. The captain of the guard was a woman. A paladin from Osita. Her armor appeared to have been a soft white color once. But, it had been worn down by combat. There were several scratches in her armor. A testament to how the armor had protected her from all these attacks. Her hair was a dark blue color and she had black eyes. A scar could be seen on her cheek. She also sported a long vertical scar over her right eye that trailed from her forehead down to half of her cheek. She was a tall and strong woman. She had a shield strapped to her back and a silver lance in her hand.
Mila explained the group's situation to her. The woman, introduced herself as Laura, a survivor from Osita. And she had been living here in this little town with her mother's family ever since the territory fell. Laura seemed to be ok with letting Mila's group help with the defense effort. Especially after Mila explained everyone's strengths. Three extra mages and a magic sword would be a great boon to them. Mila was shown where she needed to go to fortify which walls. A messenger would go ahead and inform the others of where they needed to go. A messenger would be sent to Bee to let her know where the armory and forge was.

Bee left the meeting a bit dejected. Most of her ideas had gotten shot down. She would have preferred to deal with the problem directly rather than waste time with the village. However it was Mila's mission and Bee still liked her, despite the fact she did not agree to the lava, so she was just going to have to soak it up. At the very least however she could help out the local blacksmith with getting decent weapons in the hands of the villagers and guards. Though she figured it would be a lot harder task to get done than she envisioned. The tools were probably there, but people were not always team players. A lot of people saw crisis as a excuse to rip people off and make a lot of money. She wondered if the blacksmith had the same kind of spirit.
"Ghhaaa", Bee let a groan as she walked down the road. She was totally not feeling it right now. The forge was always her home, but at the moment Bee did not feel like talking to people, or better yet arguing with suborn fools. Still she had a part to do. Bee made her way over to the local blacksmiths shop. The sign above the shop read Master Works, a arrogant name for a shop, but hey, why not. \
"Hey is the smith in", yelled Bee as she pressed open the door. She was greeted to a finely crafted marble floor and a well clean and organized array of weapons. From what she could tell everything was well crafted. The weapons seemed aesthetically beautiful, but Bee had to wonder about there quality.
"Be there in a minute", shouted a feminine voice from the back of the shop. It was in this moment that Bee began to wonder how in the world was this place still open. In some of the cities in Lycia, well this was not one of those cities, corrected Bee to herself. People act according to there surroundings. Thief must not be big in this area.
"Sorry about that I was a bit busy", spoke a women with blue hair as she came out of a back room. She had on a yellow dress and wore a white apron with frills on it. Her hair was tied up at the moment by a white piece of cloth and in her right hand was a ladle used for drawing out stew. 'A maid, thought Bee to herself.'
"Sorry, but I wish to speak to the master blacksmith", spoke Bee as she looked past the women and looked to the opposite door behind her. She was hoping the old grey beard would soon show himself and send his cook back to her work. What Bee got instead was a serious frown and a look that screamed I will eat you and your small children.
"I am the master blacksmith", the women spoke with a dark tone. It was clear this was not the first time anyone had mistaken her for the help. It was also clear that she took great offense towards that.
"Umm", spoke Bee as she realized she had set fire to a keg of oil.

As the meeting ended and the others began to separate, Samantha returned to her tea. There was no need to rush, and even less of a need to waste perfectly good tea. She already had a good idea what she would be able to do to help, and she would have plenty of time today to double check things. So, she decided to enjoy her tea. Besides, they would be in the thick of things before too long, so why not allow herself to enjoy the little things. In truth, she would have been in a bigger hurry to leave if she had been going with Mila. She wished they would find time to be able to catch up, but they came secondary to their mission.
Once her tea was done, Sam finally stood up from the table. Making her way outside, the blue haired mage made her across the town and up onto the wall surrounding it. The wall was the biggest part of their defensive effort, in Sam's mind. As long as the wall held, the town would be fine. So, she slowly made her way around the top of the wall, inspecting it as she went. They would need to know if there were any points along it that were either weakened from previous attacks or could be a point of concern. These could be the areas that they would need to be mindful of. Either Mila would be able to reinforce these areas or they would have to station someone there. They couldn't let the wall fall.

Mila was guided off towards one of the areas that needed a wall reinforced. She could see that there were workers already there trying to cement the walls down with mud and brick. That was fine and all but they needed to move quicker. Mila sighed and grabbed her tome. The hole in the wall was in a V shape. She started to conjure up the materials needed to repair the wall. A massive stone slab of earth emerged from the ground. Mila had to focus hard and imagine the earthen thing as a perfect piece of the wall. And that. THAT WAS HARD.
She groaned a bit. As she slowly "pushed" the slab of earth towards the massive hole in the wall. The sage didn't actually physically push the slab. She was standing still and appeared to be pushing it with her mind. She made the physical motion of "pushing". Her hands held up in the air and her arms outstretched as if to push something away. People were told to clear out as it moved. But, damn it, even if she wasn't physically moving it, it still FELT like she was. The whole earth magic thing felt incredibly HEAVY to her. Gaea magic hit hard but it took a toll on her body. More so then the other magics barring thunder. And she had to make sure the piece fit just right.
The wall piece fit snugly into the rest of the wall. The workers went to work securing the wall in it's place. And Mila, she had to sit down. Her butt found the ground and she let out a large sigh. Maybe.. Maybe she had to rethink this whole wall situation.

It took a good bit of talking, but Bee was finally able to get herself on the maidens good ... well better side. Things went a lot more smoothly once she figured out Bee knew how to work the forge. there was a kinship between female blacksmiths. Each one understood the pains of working in what most considered a mans line of work. After the sisterhood began both ladies began to work side by side to deal with the villages defenses. There was no time to forge new blades and repair old ones. The villagers were going to have to put down there old weapons till the next strike. Instead the twin terrors began to focus on creating stock weapons. Bee came up with the idea of smelting the iron quick with her tome and pouring it inside of molds. After that they would melt down all the silver they could round up and cover the tips of the blades. After that they pulled in help from the local lads and attached the blade heads onto sticks. They were not silver lances by any standard, but they would get the job done. By the end of the day they had created up till twenty silver tip lances. The silver would make piercing the flesh easier and the iron would give them some back bone. the only real question was on how long they would last. Hopefully to the end of the night.
"Alright", spoke Bee as she stretched her arms. "I gave mila what she wanted. Now it is a little bit of Bee time." Bee gave off a evil grin as she pulled out a piece of paper and began to move to a alchemy shop. She just needed a few extra things in order to make a little surprise for there monster friends. Just something to spice up the night.

As they all began to depart their own ways Vincent took an interest in Bee's words. "I admit I would not have taken you for a smith. I've never met a mage that took kindly to such a labor intensive activity," he clarifies. Drawing his lancereaver, Phoenix Claw, he eyed it for good measure looking at the scratches and cracks running along its length, "Would you mind giving this a bit of care while you are at it?"
Vincent did not have any particular roles to fulfill like the others did but that did not stop him from going into town to recruit. As he traveled he stopped by large groups and populated buildings. He explained to the townsfolk what their plans were and how they could help. If they wished to fight he would send them to see Bee, if they wished to work they took up tools and joined the workers around the walls. If they wanted nothing to do with it at all, Vincent found himself sneered, and jeered quite a bit more than he would have liked.
Somehow the mercenary did not find himself angry at those that sneered, more exasperated, how could they turn a blind eye to something such as this? It was baffling and strange to him. As he began to finish up his recruitment he decided to head out to the walls. He was not good for much but he could still take part in the manual labor, he was sure of that.

As Sam made her way around the city's wall, she had to admire the craftsmanship that went into it. Admittedly, architecture wasn't her strong suit. But she could still admire the fact that this wall had stood after a number of different assaults on it by the creatures in the area. Sure, these creatures weren't likely used to having to deal with a wall such as this, but over time it would at least wear down to a point where they could break in. Yes, there were areas of the wall that were weaker than the others, and some parts where damage was noticeable, but for the most part it standing tall. And to her, that was impressive.
Samantha continued her walk, mentally marking down a few places to suggest to the works to try and reinforce. She wasn't sure how much of the wall they would be able to get to before night fell, so she kept those spots in mind in case they needed to station extra defenders there. It wouldn't be up to the blue haired mage as to who they put there, nor did she know who would be best to defend such spots, but she could at least help point out the places that could use it.
Up ahead, Sam spotted Mila sitting on the ground. From the looks of it, her friend had just used her Gaea to lift a large chunk of Earth into one of the biggest weaknesses in the wall. It still astounded her how powerful Mila actually was. Far beyond the power Samantha herself had, which she was not embarrassed to admit. It was one of the things the mage admired about her friend. Walking over to her, the blue haired girl sat lightly on the ground next to her. "Things seem to be progressing well. And you remain as impressive as ever." Sam gave Mila a small smile. What this flirting? She could never tell if she was doing it right. Then again, she had never actually done it before.

Mila was exhausted and this was just her first hole in the wall. She had like a hundred more holes to patch up if she was going to help get this town ready for the next attack. While she sat there recovering and thinking about her life Sam showed up and complimented her.
"Thanks, it takes years of practice to be this good in the art of sitting." She joked. She knew Sam was impressed by her ability to manipulate the earth with her magic. Phew. Come on Mila.. time to get up. She mentally sighed to herself and eventually got up off the ground.
"Thanks for the support though." She nodded. Then stretched a bit. Her body felt sore. Like she had spent the last few hours running around flapping her arms like a bird nonstop. Why was earth magic so heavy? She started to wonder if she was more muscularly built she would have an easier time at moving the earth. But then she had a mental image of herself looking like a body builder or like one of those sculptures she had seen in some noble's garden. And then the image of herself looking like some sort of mountain of muscle didn't sit well with her. The men can keep that body structure. Despite everything she did to hide them, she liked her curves.
"You figure out what you could do to help the others?" She asked. Then rolled her shoulders for a bit. A faint cracking noise could be heard. She then took a breath and slowly moved her way over towards the next wall. This one had a large crack in it that the enemy could break through. Mending a crack in the wall was easier then having to jigsaw peice it back together. But, suddenly there was a crunching noise and a painful groan that came from one of the workers. The poor sod had just driven a nail through his finger. His comrades pulled the nail out of his skin and started to wrap the wound. Mila sighed softly and intervened. She made her way through the small crowd of workers. Grabbed the man's hand by the wrist. She examined the bleeding digit for a moment then pulled out her staff.
She drew from the power of the spirits and manifested that power through the orb ontop of the rod. The power came out of the orb like a warm light. The bleeding stopped. The wound healed itself. And the bones were reset in place.
"You'll be sore for a few days. But otherwise ok."

After a long days work Bee was proud of herself. She had made a lot of stock weapons, but that was not what made her smile like she was doing now. After finishing her work Bee had moved into things she liked. Taking that blueprints she picked back up in Illia Bee was able to craft the fabled mine and several other useful objects. However the fire mines were her favorite. Unfortunately Bee was only able to make two of them. If she had a entire week and enough supplies Bee would have made a hundred. The site of the mine field would have been glorious.
As Bee daydreamed down the street she noticed that her bag was heavier than normal. A frown covered her face as her logic pulled her out of lala land. Bee opened her bag to figure out what it was. It was then that she noticed the blade that Vin had given her earlier. She had almost forgot it. She had done some repairs on it, but the blade was far from new. It looked close, but Bee knew the difference. She was a blacksmith after all. The only way to pull that sword back to 100 percent would be to melt it back down and reforge it. Other than that the sword would still be flawed. She would have done it too, despite the fact that the jerk disagreed with her. He was cute after all. Bee also enjoyed reforging swords. There is nothing like taking a beat up blade and bringing it back to its prime.
"Man I miss my forge", spoke Bee to herself. The maiden then looked down at her arms. She had quite the muscle power now. She remembered when she first started. She was so small. Now her arms were pretty big. Not as big as Mr.Johnson, but still big. "Still not up to mothers level, ahh. Alright! Time to go give silver back his blade back. Bee then set out to find Vin.
