Name: Jiro Hashita Tezuka
Class: Myrmidon
Age: 24
Born in: Sacae
Appearance: A scarce-muscled and swift looking man, Jiro fits the bill for the term 'ninja'. He stands a firm five foot nine, and weighs just a meager one hundred and thirty three pounds. Without a second glance, one could very well miss him due to the lanky and thin physique, especially when coupled with the suit he wears on the field and off. Jiro's 'shozoku' is an heirloom passed down from father to son in his tribe of warriors that he calls family. The dark, navy blue, almost black, suit is comprised of five parts, the hood-mask hybrid, the robes, the gauntlets, the tabi, and the leggings. From the top, his hood and mask both fit what one would expect of the ninja of myth, a dark garment that conceals all but the wearer's eyes and bridge of the nose. The robes of the ninja fit those of casual wear, but not to deceive the viewer, as the intricate lacing is fitted with several bands of chain underneath, muffled by the cloth tied on and around in eastern style. The leggings are baggy-looking, and seem to be almost open with the thigh areas, however tightly cinched at the waist and ankles. The two toed sandal-socks, or tabi, are of the same color, and the leather padding underneath provides great traction on the battlefield, and even a bit of stealth, not that Jiro needs it. His gauntlets, lastly, are definitely of the ilk of ninja, and are open fingered. The gauntlets, however, also house bracers on the upper forearms for their wearer, as to betray the look of a stealthy assassin to make for a more warrior-esque feel, while still retaining light weight and maneuverability. Jiro's face, when uncovered, makes him to be a figure as like any warrior of the Tezuka tribe. With a small, recessive chin and flattened ears, as well as almond shaped eyes, almost nonexistent black hair, and brown eyes, Jiro remains a testament to years of cultural breeding between tribes of ninja-warriors and other myrmidion-like fighters in the lands of Sacae.
Personality: Though the last to brag, Jiro is extremely quick on his toes as far as wit is concerned, and equally methodical in approaching any sort of situation. Not a tactician by any stretch, however, Jiro is a lone wolf fighter, who prides himself on being alone in the heat of the fray. Outside of combat, the Sacaean ninja is rather antisocial, and finds little in the way of social cues and even facial expressions to discern emotion from friends. He is not easy to open up with, nor is it easy for him to forge relationships or bonds with others, due to his upbringing. In the end, however, he has a soft heart, and will rarely lay hands where they need not be, and will apologize extensively if it ever comes to fruition of violence against those he wishes not to hurt. Jiro has a strange affinity for sewing and weaving fabrics, even to the point of having a hobby of it.
History: "Death is but the end of a chapter in the book of life. Once it is done, another chapter is written. For with every death comes honor, and with honor, redemption."
A quote Jiro lives and will die by. Born into power and glory in the southern reaches of Sacae, the Tezuka tribe was short lived and destined for disaster. Little did young Jiro know, his life at age of eleven would take a spiraling downfall. Before then, his life was full of decadence and luxury with his brother, Zukaashimato, and his father, Hishu. With an estranged and presumed dead mother, Jiro was raised among an older brother with a khan-like father in the southern reaches of his homeland. During a grand festival, just three days prior to his twelfth birthday, an arrow, presumed at first to be stray of a large firing ceremony, struck his father in the head, forcing the lifeless corpse before him on the table. After professional archers deemed it assassination, the Tezukas assumed the mother of the two boys to be the cause, and hunted her down at once. Seven squads over three weeks had been sent from all those affected by the political assassination to find this woman. Eventually, her corpse as uncovered and it, too, with the same type of arrow pierced through the brain, in the same fashion. It was traumatizing for poor Jiro, and he secluded to his brother's shadow, learning and feeding from each victory his brother earned on the battlefield and on the trail to find his parents' killer. When Jiro was finally of age, 15 in his tribe, to become a warrior, his brother was of age 20, and began to furiously train his younger sibling in all kinds of warfare, both fair and dirty. During training, it had occurred to Jiro, after several months, that his brother had a proficiency in archery, and the way he'd struck from higher vantage points didn't help his case either. Things were looking shady, and perhaps even pointing a finger to his brother. Jiro at this time was age seventeen, and called his brother out on each and every fallacy in his explanations as to why he wasn't the killer, even down to the arrows he used, which were unique to him and him alone. Jiro's brother took him for a fool. With his brother's scheme to usurp the tribe revealed, Jiro had attempted to slay his own kin in order to gain revenge for the family he never had. Jiro had succeeded, but failed to realize he'd also killed the last of his family, and had no experience ruling the Tezuka tribe. Leaving them be, and taking his own brother's shozoku, passed from his father, Jiro left in dishonor, never to return. Now he works as a sellsword, giving his skill to the highest bidder if it means to vent anger and frustration of his family's loss, though he seldom even speaks to his employers for more than what he needs.
"He who takes the blood of his family can never amount to what he sought, for he is weak in resolve."
NPC fight: Against a knight, Jiro had been against a thousand times at this point with dummies, but never before an actual knight. He took upon himself to clutch his weapon tight in his hands, pacing counterclockwise around the massive figure. The figure himself, continuing to pace himself with the agile fighter, tower shield bore in his left, and spear in the right. Jiro was at a disadvantage here, and he knew it. That spear could outrange his blade, and pierce his armor just fine, so he had to keep close. Advancing after pacing himself a bit farther to the left, Jiro advanced towards the shield, blade thrown back to strike. To his dismay, his overhead arced swing was met with the shield, and the lance had shoved itself right into his bicep, forcing him down. Jiro took the blow with a grunt, falling back for now to size up his foe once again. As the knight advanced, Jiro began to recall many battles ago with his brother, and knew he could climb walls... But what about a shield? Leaping forward, and awaiting that tower shield to go up, Jiro placed his feet upon the upward curve of such a dastardly hunk of iron, he pressed all of his weight down upon the shield, shoving his feet forward to try and break the knight's guard. To his dismay once more, the knight managed to hold strong, recovering after Jiro had landed. Gods, would this guy ever show any weakness?! The knight advanced again, and this time, Jiro knew what he had to do. Taking his blade in his left arm, clutched away from his injured right, he charged alongside the spear, ducking under the weapon after the knight crossed over to try and strike him with the weapon once more. Once under the knight, he swung upward, attempting to slash the knight in the face, behind his shield. Due to the heavy armor, the man couldn't move in time, taking a critical blow to the chin, and up the nose. Using this momentum to his advantage, Jiro drove his blade further into the iron hood that so many wore in place of a helmet, finishing the job, albeit barely. Gasping for air, the ninja simply walked on, remembering his mistakes for the future; NEVER mess with a spear.
===========================================
Note how Jiro learns from each encounter. I plan for him to be a wary and ruthless fighter, who takes something from each battle he fights in. Due to his light weight and agility, Jiro managed to throw himself around and around again, bolting about as myrmidions do. He wasn't invincible however, and took a blow to the arm, in which forced him to go for a critical blow, as opposed to more basic strikes like he would want to, and placed himself in harm's way twice in order to try and finish his foe off.
PC fight: ============================================
Due to having no reference point in which to work from here, Jiro is destined to be the same as before, but will often times only strike at his foe once, if not for the rare chance of attacking his foe twice in a turn. I know well I can't just allow him to auto-attack foes, but his strategy of hit-and-run will be clear, allowing him to dance around his foes with grace and power behind each swing. If he takes a critical blow, he can count himself at a loss and flee. He has little honor left, and his fighting style will show it.
