Cardin was startled when Scar returned with his warning, and determined that it would be best to do as Scar said. He didn't know what this was about, but from what Scar said he could tell one thing: danger was near. It had not even been hours since their last battle, and Cardin was not eager for another to begin so soon. Cardin put the fire out immediately and scattered the coals with his boot. He put his belongings back into his satchel.
"Isabelle," said Cardin, "It appears we will have to continue this conversation another time. Something is coming and we had best be on the move. You're welcome to come with us if you like, unless you would prefer whatever awaits you here." He leaned in close to her. "You could also keep Scar in check for me." Cardin chuckled. Scar's ear twitched after Cardin's comment. He had obviously heard him. With his Taguel hearing, there was no doubt he would have. He had intended for Scar to hear this, as a kind of joke. He grasped his satchel, slung it over his shoulder, and began to follow Scar back toward the open plains. He hoped Isabelle would come along. Cardin enjoyed her company, and as soon as Scar got lonely, he'd welcome it as well. Her logical sense and magical prowess made it obvious that she wouldn't merely be freeloading. It would also help to keep Scar's "temper" in check, if not provoke it further. Amidst the darkest times, Cardin knew that friendship is one of the strongest powers there is.

Why did these two do things so erratically? This was infuriating. Shortly after vanishing, the beast comes back, shouting orders, and Cardin immediately set to packing up. "That makes no sense! Why would they surround us - they should rightly have no idea about what happened. At least not until they find their wounded friends..." She sighed, rubbing her temples. Why were these two so... So... She sighed again, and then took a deep breath. Fine, this was what was happening now.
"Well yes Cardin, I think I'll be joining the two of you. So we're heading into Bern after all? Great." There's a little sarcasm laced into those words. She reached down to pick up her own bag, only to find the already heavy satchel even heavier - Solomon had made his way into it and fallen asleep. "Well, we're an odd trio, that's for sure. Lead on, then - we haven't a moment to lose if they're coming our way." Isabel slung her satchel across her shoulder and, after looking up at the sky, aligned herself toward the south.
Cardin hadn't immediately shut her ideas and suggestions down. That was good, though perhaps she had been too harsh regarding what she had said about Scar - Isabel knew a thing or two about mismatched pairs. If they took comfort in each others' presence on the road, then she shouldn't have hinted that Cardin leave... Oh, why was everything always such a mess?

Scar did not have time to deal with this. Cardin had said some words to the women ,but Scar could care less at the moment. He wanted to avoid this human search party. Once they found there dead comrade they would be out for blood. Worse yet if the living one gave them a report. Speaking of which Scar should have killed that man. However he got a bit distracted with the women and allowed him to carry his friend off. Both of them should have had a swift death. He should have clawed there bodies to little pieces and then consumed them. Let the humans guess what happen to there kin.
"There is no point in all of that", chuckled the lion to himself. Human always tasted terrible and Scar really did not want them in his stomach. Plus there would be no time for that. What Scar needed to truly do was get there group out of here. To be honest he wanted to leave the women behind, but it would only cause problems down the road. Scar was going to have to take her.
"Your going the wrong way Boy", shouted Scar toward Cardin. "We are going to have to head south, into the land of mountains." Scar stopped for a moment and looked the young boy up and down. There was no way he was going to move fast enough. They had already been moving all day and now the night sky was upon them. "Get on my back", spoke Scar finally after going though a mental conflict. "Get on my back and I will give you a ride. We will cover more ground that way and we will be able escape there quickly forming net." Scar waited for a moment for the boy to comply. He was not sure if he would, but either way they would have to move soon.
"You can ride to women", spoke Scar eventually. After waiting two moments for the duo to make there decisions Scar ran off into the night toward the mountains in the distance.

Well, that was certainly unexpected. He was surprised that Scar was willing to do that. Cardin had thought it would "hurt his pride." It was kind of strange, but definitely not unwelcome. Cardin leapt onto Scar's back. After Isabelle followed in his steps, Scar took off, heading for the distant mountains. Cardin began to ponder what was going on. Barely a few weeks ago he had joined with a Taguel, who had been a traveling hunter. The Taguel, Scar, had taken him in as a sort of protege, teaching him how to survive, and training him. Then, just today, he had had his first encounter with a Wyvern, as well as some haughty soldiers of Bern. Now they were fleeing from who knows what kind of danger, along with the new mage they had met, Isabelle (and her cat, we cannot forget the cat). Well, life was certainly more... interesting now. Even if he could go back to his simple hunter's life, he wouldn't. The lessons he had learned in his past from Dex, his mentor, as well as his parents, still rang true. But now he was ready. Traveling with his new comrades on a journey to become stronger. Eventually, he wanted to have his revenge on the bandits that killed his parents, along with most of the village he had lived in, the Flame Raiders. Rumors said that they had hired a group of Taguel, which is what made them so powerful. Cardin had always thought that the only way that he could defeat a taguel was with the power of other taguel. But, with the help of these two, well, Cardin knew that eventually he could defeat them.

"No way, I'm not-" Isabel sighed. She was doing a lot of sighing today. "Okay. Fine. Cardin, if you could help me up..." She awaited the boy's assistance, and then clung to him. She had seen how Scar had taken off before, and that sudden burst of speed was not something she didn't want to be braced for.
And with that, as unceremoniously as she had met them, been dragged into a fight that they started, and had made their proper acquaintance, the trio fled into the night, heading south - into Bern. The ride was bumpy and awful - it made every horse ride she had ever endured seem like a lovely stroll.
