"I want to aspire to greatness. I won't settle for less"
Decisions - Main Theme
Name: Siegmund
Class: Novice
Age: 17
Born in: Bern
Appearance:
Siegmund dresses and appears mostly mature, but his youth still shines in his features. He has short-medium length chestnut hair and maroon eyes. He stands at about 5'11 and has a lean build. He exercises and does chores around his home, but he hasn't trained or worked enough to put on any serious muscle.
Personality: Sieg is polite and considerate when interacting with others. Not necessarily formal, but he has enough tact not to be blunt immediately. He's considered to be a good talker, able to use words to get what he desires without offending or outright lying...usually. The truth is Siegmund isn't necessarily above such tactics either, provided he's able to push his objective. That said Siegmund does try to be less manipulative towards his friends and family, though he'll still deflect the truth or withold information at times.
Siegmund is a young man with plenty of drive and ambition. He yearns to become powerful and influential, if not in his homeland of Bern then just in Elibe in general. Sharp minded and a forward thinker, Siegmund is internally frustrated at his lack of tools to accomplish said goal, and his inability to uncover a clear path towards it. His frustrations are alleviated by the close knit friendships he has made in his home village, though when he's alone his desires for something greater leaves sweet whispers in his ears.
To his friends he's considered dependable and intelligent, often the type more likely to take leadership of the gang and their escapades. Though it isn't until recently that Siegmund genuinely starts to lead them around...
History: Siegmund was born to a rather ordinary family in Bern. He grew up neither poor nor wealthy, and was left wanting for very little. He had to work hard around the house growing up, but he still had time to forge close bonds with a few other children his age in the village. Leif, Reina, and Hadvar. The four got along swimmingly as they grew up, often playing together or even just talking.
However, the other three seemed to have desires of their own. Reina wanted to go to Aquleia, simply because she loved books. Siegmund and her often spent many nights together reading what few books they had in the village. Leif fancied himself a knight and was determined to become a soldier for Bern, especially after the recent victory of the rebellion. Hadvar simply wanted to take over his father's merchant caravan.
For Siegmund...none of these sounded sufficient. If he was to be a soldier, he'd want to be the greatest in all of Bern's history. But Leif didn't share any such ambition, and was happy just serving his country. Siegmund didn't mind visiting a great archive, but what was the point of simply obtaining knowledge if not to DO something with it? Travelling Elibe was nice, but being able leave his mark would be nicer.
Yet there was no clear way for Siegmund to get what he wanted. Reina merely needed to save up for a caravan or carriage to take her to Etruria. Applying to join the military would be easy enough, Leif was a strapping young man, he just wanted to go in with a little bit of combat training. And Hadvar already went with his merchant parents to other countries and cities, taking the business over was only a matter of time.
But how would Siegmund get his start? As the four grew up he was left feeling anxious, eager to not be left behind...so he began to plan ahead.
The closest path to his goal, to be reknowned and make a lasting change, would likely be to become a soldier much like Leif. However he'd have to do more than that. To become a TRUE legend of Bern, what better way than to become a wyvern knight? Larguz was close, and if Siegmund could get into the academy he'd have a chance. But much like Leif, he wanted to go in with a good bit of prior experience.
And what better way than to catch a wyvern?
