Both of the companions decided to take him up on the offer. Gar guessed they didn't have much of a choice with the whole forest about to catch fire. Gar was happy to be of assistance. They just had to move. Only problem was, they weren't going to be moving particulary fast. Gar was injured and Mila was entirely drained, of mana and stomach contents. Also, if Gar recalled correctly, transforming takes it out of a dragon. But maybe that was a special case. Or maybe Nayru was a special case. Regardless, the party had to head toward the western edge of the island.
Gar led his allies, trudging through the undergrowth of the forest. The berserker could almost feel the fire spreading, nipping at his heels as he proceeded. Gar could've sworn the clearing was closer than this. As the adrenaline continued to fade from his system, he grew increasingly pained. His steps were labored, but he kept moving. Gar let out a couple words toward his allies. "Both of you, saved my life there... You have my thanks."
In time, they had arrived to the edge of the forest. Gar's crew was where he had left them. They were huddled around a campfire muttering about starting a search party. Gar saw one of his mates point a finger at the trio, causing the others to turn their heads. A few came jogging over.
" Oi go grab some vulneraries! Wat in the 'ell 'appened out there Cap? Ye were spost ta get supplies. N' ya come back like dis, wit some lasses?" Gar knew they didn't have time to patch themselves up here. They also didn't have time for a story. Let alone time for a made up story to protect what Gar assumed was a secret. It was likely a fair assumption. Gar couldn't imagine a dragon who just went around telling people the truth of their nature.
" No time. Forest fire. Weigh anchor, we're setting sail." Some of the mates stood around, still confused about the ongoings in the forest. "Where's your winged axe?" Gar roared a reply."Now damn it. Captain's orders!" Gar coughed a little bit from the outburst. The mates gave an aye and began to pack the camp up for departure. Gar led his allies to the nearest ship. He walked up the gang plank and dropped his coat and new axe on the deck of the ship.
He slumped against the mast of the ship. His eyes fell upon the smoke rising into the air. With any luck, that cyclops corpse will burn up in the flames. Even if that were the case, there would likely be bone and corrupted earth that remained. Oh well, the group had taken care of the real threat. No more people would be harmed by that monstrosity. That in itself was enough to make the exhausted berserker smile. Gar's faint smile remained on his lips as he slumped to the deck and fell asleep.
