Gar's eyes tracked his opponent as the swordsman moved away. That gave him more than enough space to get his feet beneath him again. Gar didn't expect this, he expected the man to stand above him like a hawk ready to dive. But if the man wanted to make Gar's recovery from his disadvantageous position easier, Gar was all for it. Still, Gar had to be quick about getting back to his feet.
Gar felt the light shield fading. As the hardlight dissipated into floating, sparkling dust, Gar crunched his abdominal muscles and rolled back onto his hands. He tapped briefly into Xigshaw's strength boost to make the motion a little more manageable. He sprung upward off one hand and the large axe to regain his footing. Gar rotated in the air so he could face the enemy. The fading, sparkling dust in the air spun with the air currents caused by the turquoise clad berserker.
With his sea-legs beneath him, the fight could start anew. That meant another charge, but it was going to be slower this time. In a way, it was going to be simpler. Gar dug his toes into the sand and lowered his stance. Then he was off, only a couple steps took him toward the swordsman once more. This time, Gar's axe dipped, then hooked horizontally with a one armed strike. The strike wasn't aimed for Duma's center, it was aimed slightly behind the man. The strike wouldn't do too much damage unless the man backed into it. The axe was meant to be a positioning tool, to keep the swordsman where he wanted him. Had the man decided not to move, Gar's elbow would likely hook around the swordsman's midsection.
What Gar was more concerned about was the positioning of his off hand. Gar's left hand extended forward in an attempt to grip and control Duma's swordarm. Gar's open hand traced the sword arm's movements. If nothing else, he aimed to interfere with a counter long enough for Gar's momentum to carry through. If everything went according to plan, Gar's momentum would transfer into the smaller framed man and take them both to the ground. Quickness was a swordmaster's bread and butter. Quickness was muted on the floor, even more so in the sand. Gar intended to make that work in his favor.
