On the mercenary group he served: Victor ran with a group known as The Crimson Corsairs in his youth. A mercenary band founded by two Saecans initially, the group slowly grew over the course of the twenty-five years that Victor traveled with them. Victor is, to be exact, one of the original members of it from when it was first founded (along with a single Novice). At it's peak during the Bandit War, there were 13 members (including Victor) of the Corsair's, and after the war, the group was disbanded due to the leaders of it deciding to retire for a more peaceful life rebuilding Saecae.
The men and women that made it up were from all corners of Elibe, but they were a tight-knit group nonetheless.
As a matter of fact, it is a unwritten code of honor sworn between all members that if one member calls for another with due reason, that member is honor-bound to answer in some way.
Each member also bears a signet ring with their name engraved that serves as proof of who they are.
Below are the other members (who may or may not appear as future characters) and some brief data on them.
1. Gennai: One of the two Saecan's who founded it, Gennai was a swordsmaster who had a talent for an art known as 'blade dancing', or the art of executing sword moves in a constantly moving motion, going for style and precision rather then pure power (think capoeira, but with swords instead of kicks and punches), which is more effective than one may think on the battlefield. After the war, he retired with his wife to go and rebuild Sacae (as well as make up for lost time with his child). His child, Nidai, was not part of the group officially, as he was left in Sacae with relatives while his mother and father worked as mercenaries. He is 65.
2. Nyau: One of the two Saecan's who founded it, Nyau is a illegitimate child between a traveling Eturian merchant and a Saecan dancer. As such, Nyau was seen as an outcast to both, although she did not let that stop her as she became a skilled nomad trooper. She was also incredible with the flute, something she had a natural talent for (her current flute she bought from a traveling merchant that, unbeknownst to her, was her father). She is Gennai's wife, and after the war, retired with him to rebuild Sacae. She is 65 as well.
3. Crest: A novice that joined the company when he was 15, he started as a novice that only was going to be with them temporarily during a job set on the Western Isles, acting as a guide to the seas. He proved his worth, eventually becoming a hero during his last few years before the company disbanded. He even got married after the war. Currently, with Nyau and Gennai's blessing, he has founded a new group called the Cerulean Corsiars, and seeks to get rid of the most dangerous pirates that prowl the Western Isles. He is the youngest of the original Corsair's, being only 40.
4. Deidara: A Ostian Berserker with a penchant for picking fights with those he thinks will make him stronger if he beats, he joined the Corsair's about 10 years ago. Originally hired for added muscle, he stuck around after being impressed by Gennai's skill, and sought to beat him one day. His cannon-like mad rush garnered infamy during the Bandit war, where he tore through a small squad of elite knights with little trouble. After the war, he vanished along with Zagreus, his other rival. He is about 45.
5. Kyresh: The group's resident healer, Kyuss joined up during the bandit war with Seryu, who he maintains a friendly relationship with. Though he proved to be exceptional in the healing arts, some might note that he had a rather... disturbing fascination with injuries, the more severe, the more interesting he found them. Though he became a Seer after the war (taking to dark magic disturbingly well), he still works with Seryu frequently (and she is his most frequent patient). He is about 50.
6. Seryu: A (former) Bernese Wyvern soldier, she defected out of disgust for the actions her own country committed. She only joined the Corsair's by circumstance when they met after a engagement with soldiers sent to bring her in nearly killed her and Kyresh, and were it not for the Corsair's intervening, it would have very likely been her death. After the bandit war, her name was cleared, and she was able to return to duty once again. She is a dragon knight, like her master. Her wyvern's nickname is Coro (it's real name is Hecatoncheir). She is about 45.
7. Sirius: A lone sniper from Kalthet that joined at the same time as Zagreus, the two went their separate ways after the bandit war, and it was never made clear why exactly they joined the company. Sirius, though, was a very good shot with his bow, being a sniper of quite some skill. After the war, he went back to Kalthet, planning to live life as a hermit in its mountains. He is about 45.
8. Storge: The smallest of the group, and practically a dwarf, but also one of the most kindest members of it. Storge was a general from Lycia who joined with the company not long after Bols joined, and the two formed a bond. Storge was known in his youth for always having armor just a bit too big for him (as they simply didn't make armor in his size at the time), and was often mistaken for a child. Although since then, that has changed. These days, Storge makes a living as an escort-for-hire for merchants. He is about 45.
9. Sprint: A Falcon Knight from Illia who used to be a mercenary, he hung up his days with a lance and pegasus for the times of peace. However, the bandit war forced him out, and he proved to be a good ally to the Corsair's when they found him nearly dead due to an archer ambush. He is a falcon knight unparalleled with his skill in aerial combat. After the war, he hung up his combat gear, this time hopefully for good, and went back to being a school teacher. He and Crest are good friends, and his pegasus is named Mastema. He is now 49 years old.
10. Chroma: A thief from Laus raised from birth to become an assassin by a group of evil cultists, she was sent during the bandit war to kill off several officials that opposed Hargus. The Corsair's, having been hired at the time to protect one of her targets, thwarted her efforts. It was Crest who convinced her to come with him, and after the war, the two eloped. She is about 42.
11. Bols: A Nabatan mage that was one of the tallest of the Corsairs, at a height of 6ft, 3in, he had a prodigal talent for (and knowledge of) fire magic. Though intimidating, he is bashful, and particularly loves his beautiful wife and daughter (who Victor attended the wedding of). After the Bandit War, he went back to Nabata to study more on the subject of fire magic, and aims to one day create a fire tome more powerful than Volcanon. He is about 50 years old now.
12. Zagreus: The most mysterious out of all the Corsair's, he and Sirius simply joined one day for reasons that were never made clear. He and Sirius didn't really socialize much, although Zagreus was the more morality-centric of the two. He was a Great Knight of immense power, and the one time he and Victor sparred (which was after the latter became a Paladin) he easily thrashed Victor. His horse's name was Balmung. His most peculiar trait was that even though he always avoided contact with children whenever possible, he was easily one of the most prominent in favor of saving them when it came down to it. After the bandit war, he vanished along with Deidara. He is about 50 years old.
