The afternoon sun was bright, the natural light added with the giant fields of wheat and other grains made this giant yellow landscape a beautiful sight to behold. It had been a while since Phi had gotten to admire her home country like this. Santaruz was also a place she didn't even visit a whole lot back in the day, usually staying closer to the orphanage on the other side of the Ryerde river. She had actually decided to visit this place during her travels since she had heard about a small church of Elimine where she could pray at. It had certainly been a while since she had fulfilled her duties to Saint Elimine, it'd be good for her to take a break and get her bearings.
The actual city was still a day away on foot. That, however, didn't seem to bother the acolyte, considering the great amount of travelling she had been doing these last few years, trying to grow stronger and strenghten her faith in general. And with this weather they were having, sleeping outside wouldn't be so bad... I don't know why, but I feel more happy today than most other days... Is that just the effect of the countryside? Smiling as she continued to slowly walk down the dirt path, she took many detours to try and see the most she could of the place before going to the main city of Santaruz. She even took the time to grab a few apples, her favorites, especially big red ones, which had seen growing in one of the trees, after asking the owner of course. Seeing a few villagers tending to their fields, she started to get nostalgic about how her and the children at the orphanage would all pitch in during the harvest to get all of the vegetables they had planted. The care she put into those crops made it so that they'd always have enough preserves for the winter and for wandering people in need. As she continued to traverse the small roads that separated each fields, she came across a special sight. One completely empty plot of land, no crops, no house. It was strange to see such a barren field, but what was even more peculiar was the man training in the middle. What seemed to be the man's horse was attached to a fence post while he was doinga regular training regiment, with push ups and other conditioning activities. This alone wouldn't be too strange, but the fact his horse seemed to be packing a lot of travelling equipment with two sword sheaths on the side proved the man was nothing but a villager. Maybe a traveler like her?
Intrigued and also feeling generally happy, she decided to come closer to the man, thinking that maybe it would be fun to meet somebody new. Siegmund had been an interesting young boy, so maybe this man could also lead to an interesting interaction, who knows? Getting reasonably closer, she noticed the strands of grey hair protuding out of the man's bandanna. Strange, considering he only looked maybe a few years older than her. Deciding not to think too much about it, she stood for a few moments, thinking of how to introduce herself, but it seemed like the man had keen senses as he stopped his push-ups to look at her. "Oh, I didn't see you there! Was there something you needed?
Caught off guard by his first words, she took a few seconds before responding: "N-nothing... I just saw you there and umm, wondered if you were hungry perhaps? I just collected some very juicy and I know I won't be able to eat them all...
Would you like some?"
"Hmm, well I was pretty much over with my training... sure why not? Better than being alone with Gambit over there"he said gesturing towards the horse. Feeling thankful he seemed friendly in appearance, she walked up to him with optimism that she had had a good idea by deciding to start a conversation with the young man.
