Name: Yamigarasu (Translates to Dark Raven)
Magic: Dark
Tome: Mire
Physical Description: The scabbard of Yamigarasu is a dark black, kept eternal through a quality finish with a dual depiction. On the right side of the scabbard a clear blue stream flows along the length with churning white plumes as the final collision into the butt of the scabbard. These same currents are depicted on the opposing side with a violet vein staining the length until the bright healthy white churn is corrupted to a blackened purple ink. The hilt of the Katana is wrapped by a dual color Tsuka Ito, purple and black interwoven and wound around one another like a laced pattern. The butt of the hilt has a clear angular cut amethyst bedded into it and the guard of the blade is a blackened iron disk. A single raven feather is bound to the scabbard. The blade itself seems fairly standard, bar the darkened finish on the upper half of the blade. This gives the metal less reflective quality. It is slightly longer than the traditional Katana or curved blade, being two feet three inches as opposed to two feet. Long enough to re-distribute and alter the force behind it to throw off an enemies weight and balance in slight increments.
Personality: Yamigarasu is a violent entity. It feeds upon and amplifies murderous intent.Bloodshed creates an itch, scratch-able only when stained in the blood of another or immersed in the corpses of slain foes. It requires exceptional discipline to wield without entering a state of frenzy, lusted with pure murderous desires. Sensations of vengeance or vindication may insight its fell influence which can spread like a corrupting stream that steadily pollutes. All may wield its power in combat but few can withstand the price that comes with wielding its full power and the un-prepared will easily succumb to the wild murderous frenzies it can induce.
Origin:
The Liu-Sai held to tradition. Passing roles within the tribe from parent to child. Though those that wished to walk another path were free to do such, it was rare that some elected this choice. One roll within this tradition, was to be a blade of the Khan. Four in total, with weapons forced of the four magical branches to ensure that at any moment the Khans's life was best defended. One blade was seeped in the darkness. Touched by the void and infused with that which would ensure all attempts upon the Khan's life would be mercilessly brought to a decisive end. With the tribe so heavily inspired and culturally rooted in the various Avians of the plains, the four blades were named accordingly. With a Raven feather bound to the scabbard it was named Yamigarasu, the Dark Raven. However, unlike the other blades it thrived in combat. The wielders often driven to unquenchable blood lusts and betraying their very roll. Even the most disciplined tended to shift over time. Until an elder attempted a second binding. To bring the tranquil pacification of water into the spirits house so the blade would be infused with both chaos, and tranquility. Instead of wielding both the power of water and darkness however, the spirit seemed to fall dormant. Restrain always used by the hand which drew the blade and in turn never receiving the boon of darkness. Until the blade had been believed no longer empowered by spirits of any kind. To awaken it would take an all consuming desire for murder or a singular intent to spill blood.
