While the others sorted out the crushing defeat that on the surface could have been considered to be a small victory of sorts, Selunae was taking it much harder than she led anyone to believe. Alphonz, Kyra, they could easily have died if this had went on even a little longer. She’d nearly died, herself. Every action she took resulted in someone’s death. It seemed that anyone who came too close to her risked dying as well. Seeing the grave wounds of those who had just risked their lives on her fool’s errand strengthened her resolve on what she knew she must do. She couldn’t put them in any further risk. Even though it was her running before had set the wheels in motion that had caused this, there was nothing else she could think of to spare her friends of the death that seemed to loom wherever she led them.
She debated on saying goodbye, but in the end decided it better that she kept her distance. She’d caused enough harm already just in dragging them into this. Watching Alphonz hand Devon’s blade to Kyra, it broke the huntress. Selunae had wanted more time to get to know the novice, and hoped she wouldn’t hate her for this decision. Alphonz, well he’d probably not even miss her. They hadn’t bonded the way she had with Kyra, after all. A glance to Chase showed that the mage was still diligently searching for any signs of other bandits in the area, hopefully there wouldn’t be any before they were all on their way. She’d miss him too, even if he was hard to deal with. Then there was Ito, who had scarcely even acknowledged her. Well, it was for the best, she supposed. ‘Please protect them, as you protected me..’
When Kyra turned to address Selunae, the huntress recoiled when she made eye contact and turned away in guilt. It was unbearable to face her with the realization of what their friendship had put the novice through. There was one last thing she could do to help, though it was hardly enough to make up for what Kyra had endured. Selunae softly pressed her one remaining vulnerary into the novice’s hand silently, trying her best to avoid tipping the young swordswoman off to what she planned to do next.
‘Please forgive me..’
Without a single word, fighting back the tears, the huntress mounted her white horse. As the tears finally overcame her, she spurred the horse on, thundering away in a full gallop without looking back.
“Did she… just..?” Chase spun toward the huntress in bewilderment. “By the gods, of all the times to have an impractical.. This is preposterous! Does the witless girl wish to die?!”
Hastily mounting his own horse, the mage chased after the huntress hoping to catch her before she got herself killed.

"Understandable, Kyra. We all were underprepared for this. Our best bet now is to simply fall back. Maybe once we'll be stronger, we'll come back here... Beathing deeply, he got his pulse under control, at least now the risk of reopening the wound was lesser. The only that was left was for the vulnerary to heal the wound completely and for him to get some rest.
However, somethng kept bothering him as he laid sitting on the ground after having given that dagger to Kyra. The upbeat Lunie from earlier seemed much more... distant. Especially when she looked away from Kyra's gaze. Something wasn't right. This reminded him of when a soldier goes rogue due to guilt. It was not uncommon for someone to start feeling the weight of his kills on his conscience. Maybe Lunie was feeling guilty for the death of Devon? Anyways, Alphonz started to get worried as the girl gave Kyra her vulnerary only to walk away afterwards. "Lunie, what are you doing? Come back ove- LUNIE WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?!?
Seeing her ride off towards the bandit camp mad Alphonz fill up with both anger and worry. That stupid huntress! She's going to get killed out there! Ugh, we should I do, what should I do...
Seeing Chase drive off to catch up with her made Alphonz question if he shouldn't be doing the same. They'd have to reach before the bandits see her coming... Thinking about it rationally, he knew it'd be near suicide to try to bring her back. If she was so keen on dying, let her do it... However, as he starting to give up on her, he suddenly heard his father's words ring inside of his head.
It is your duty to protect the people of Bern. A knight's role is to always put the people's lives above his own. Protect your country to the bitter end Alphonz, that is our job as the Silver Vanguard!
Feeling energy wash over him, he grogilly got up by using his lance to prop himself. Quickly reaching his horse, he quite litteraly thre himself on him and slowly dragged his body on top of the mount. After a couple seconds of pain, he was somewhat well seated on his horse. Dashing towards the direction he had last saw Lunie, he rode into the woods to follow after her. He knew his body should probably be collapsing after all of that damage he took, but he had to go find her. He'd take care of himself afterwards.

"Uh-oh."
Where was Lunie going? She certainly wasn't going anywhere safe; Ito could tell you that much. Chase quickly followed, and after a few seconds Alphonz made after her too. "Uh..." Ito was at a loss for words. What was happening? Was it because he was late, having gotten carried away with his personal business? He would never know, but he did know he had to go after her.
Oh, what should I do, what should I do?! Gah. He paced back and forth, looking between the path Lunie had taken, the ground at his own feet, and Kyra. "Er... Hm..." I can't hesitate now, dang it. I have to go after her!
Always trying to be the hero, Ito? One of these days you'll get yourself killed.
N-no! Well... maybe. This time, though, I have to be the hero. Who else will? The kid knight is too injured to be of any use, and Lunie won't listen to the mage. They're all headed to their deaths! I have to stop them before they get too close! I've already let too many people die. Remember that burning village, in Worde? I couldn't do a thing there. I can do something about this, though, and I intend to. Ito stopped pacing on foot, mounted Devon's horse, then looked up to Kyra. They had to hurry, or else they might be too late. For all Ito knew, his hesitance might be the thing that kills them this time.
"We have to go after them, and now. Can you ride on your own, or will you ride with me?"

Kyra's heart sank as she saw the events that unfolded over the next few moments. She never noticed anything before it happened, and it was only Chase's words that clued her off to what was happening. She saw that Lunie was turning around on her horse and heading straight for Bonerock Cave... alone. "L-Lunie.. Lunie, no..." Kyra squeezed the words out weakly, so much so that Lunie likely didn't even hear it. Kyra fell to her knees, weak already, and the knowledge that Lunie was running headfirst to her death. Chase began chasing after her, followed by a barely conscious Alphonz, and Kyra felt extremely lightheaded as her world began to fall apart around her. She started to crumple up on the ground and cry, unsure what to do, and unwilling to go on any further.
Then Ito came over, getting on Devon's horse, asking whether she was good to go by herself or not. Weakly answering through the choking in her voice and the tears streaming down her face, she said, "I-I.. I can hardly move.. I just wanna go home... B-but.. Lunie needs help... I'll just ride with you... I-I have no energy to guide my own horse..."
As the two rode after Lunie and the others, Kyra took a look at the object that had been in her hand, realizing it was Lunie's last vulnerary. Why, Lunie? Why are you doing this? If your intention was for me to use this, I... I refuse! This is yours... If anything, Alphonz is far worse off than me anyway... You're not dying on me.. You.. You just can't!

| Music| With the dim light from the moon and stars, the path leading to the Bonerock caves was strangely serene and peaceful. It would have made for a relaxing sight had the huntress traveling it not been ensnared in such a torrent of conflicting emotions. The faint presence of the mountainous landscape on the horizon went completely unnoticed as the rapid thudding of hooves pounded into the dirt, announcing the passing of the grief-stricken rider. Though it was beyond Selunae’s reasoning in her state of turmoil, Devon had certainly deceived everyone in exaggeration with his declaration that the cave was merely over the hill. After several minutes of hard galloping, the alleged cave entrance was nowhere near. Whether it took her the rest of the night or just mere moments, though, she would continue onward until she reached her destination. The ride gave the young archer-in-training perhaps too much time to think, thoughts of her companions abandoned flitting in and out of her mind as she struggled with her resolution to press onward. Surely they understood what she intended to do, though perhaps not the reasons why she now insisted on going without them. It was her burden to bear. Not theirs. Perhaps alone she would be able to enter undetected and find a way to help her old friends and companions. With the sorry state the battle had left the others in, it would have been suicide to bring Alphonz or Kyra along. It was doubtful that Chase would be of any use sneaking in, and Ito seemed preternaturally disposed towards a more violent infiltration, In the end, the choice was clear to her. If only there had been another way... Why did Devon have to turn on them when he did? Why? Eventually the mountainous terrain ahead began to taper off into a series of crags, marking the end of her ride. Her tears had subsided and her headstrong determination was beginning to falter as the daunting challenge ahead of her instilled within a fear of what her intentions would represent. From this point on, the path bent away from the mountains, leading off towards a distant forest and other sights that were likely irrelevant to her goal. It was time to dismount and explore on foot. She couldn’t be sure how far away this cave was, nor how well defended the entrance would be and Starchaser certainly was no master of stealth. The surrounding area was populated with sporadic outcroppings of low shrubbery along with the occasional tree and further out toward the cliff face in the distance the vegetation grew more dense making the approach at least somewhat favorable for circumventing detection. Selunae dismounted and gave the white horse a soft pat on the neck. “You be good, girl.. i-if I don’t m-make it back, you be sure ‘n bite Chase really hard for me, ‘kay?” The huntress gave an awkward chuckle as she choked back a sob. Starchaser snorted and whinnied, nudging Selunae in response. With tears threatening to spill again, the girl wrapped her arms around the horse’s neck and nuzzled up against her. “I gotta leave ya here, now. If I c-can, I’ll c-come back for you s-soon.”The huntress stepped back from her steed, pausing only momentarily to lovingly stroke the back of the horse’s neck. Then, biting her lower lip to steel herself for what would come next, Selunae began to walk with deliberated quiet steps toward the face to the crag ahead of her.

Galloping through the moonlighted road, Alphonz didn't pay much attention to the scenery both because he was too tired and too focused on finding Lunie. That girl is running straight to her death! He could feel the air coming in contact with his wound, making the recently warm red liquid become cooler as he continued to ride, up to the point where the side of shirt solidified because of coagulation. Deciding to ignore his wound for now as he had bigger fish to fry, he gave his horse another kick to make it go faster. He'd be damned if Lunie was going to die like this. That girl was simply acting out in a fit of uncontrolled emotions, he hoped she'd be easily convinced to come back. But sadly, he somehow felt that things would be a lot harder to solve. If she was seriously doing what Alphonz was thinking, then trying to convince her would probably be very difficult considering he hardly knew her.
Not only that, but he'd be in deep trouble if bandits found him. He was in no condition to fight, hardly hold his spear properly. The only thing he could do to bring Lunie back would be to talk to her. Even with their size differences, dragging her by force would be near impossible with that injury. He had to trust in his social skills to convince her (which to be fair, weren,t that great.) After a while, he finally saw the white horse that Lunie rode. Wait, where is she? Oh geez, she's trying to sneak in there isn't she..? Jumping off with great pain, Alphonz was surprisingly able to walk, despite the obvious suffering he was going through while doing it. Using his spear as a prop if he ever needed to take a breather, he slowly walked where he guessed Lunie must've went.
Come on you! You're not solving anything by killing yourself like this... In fact, Kyra would probably sink even further into despair knowing you died... Ugh, you recklessly foolish fool...

Don't worry, Kyra. I'll get you back home soon. All three of you.
"HIYAH!" Ito spurred the horse on, doing his best to push the horse to its limits in an attempt to catch up to Lunie. He doubted that he and Kyra would make it in time to stop her from enter the cave, should the cave be found, but they had to at least find her. A lot of time had passed since the ride began, and Ito didn't think the horse could keep a full gallop for much longer. Come on, come on! I've got to catch up to her befo-
"Is that Lunie's horse?" Ito brought his horse to a stop, glanced around him and fully taking in the surroundings instead of simply rushing past them. The path, which he likely would've followed in his blind chase, wound away from the mountains and into the Bernese forests - the exact opposite direction of where he was to travel. It would seem Alphonz's horse was also present, though the rider was not. Jumping down from atop his mount, the Myrmidon addressed Kyra. "This is the end of the line, as far as horseback travel goes. We'll have to walk from here."
Simple logic would suggest that Lunie will be en route towards the mountains, rather than away through the forest. I'm gonna stick with simple logic on this one. Ito extended a hand to Kyra, to help her dismount should she choose to follow him. She seemed exhausted, and her injury did no good to her state of being. "Shall we get going, then? I can help you along the way if you'll need it."

As Ito stopped his horse, Kyra grew even more distressed at the sight of Lunie's lone horse. What if she was already dead? What if they were too late? There was unfortunately only one way to find out, and that was to progress forward. When Ito mentioned they'd need to walk, she got off the horse, almost falling down from the pain shooting into her shoulder from the stab wound. After she'd finished wincing, she heard Ito ask whether she'd need any help. Shaking her head, she said, "No, I think I'll be okay, so long as we don't need to fight, or run away too quickly..."
Kyra began dragging her feet along the ground, heading towards the crag up ahead alongside Ito. The whole while, she was thinking about what had gone on tonight, from the betrayal, to the injuries, to Lunie running away. The stress of Devon's betrayal and her killing of him, her friend possibly being dead, and her own near death was weighing heavily on the young girl. This was the first time she had ever been faced with this much cold reality all at once, even more so than when her father died. At least she hadn't witnessed his murder firsthand in that case. As she walked, Kyra began sniffling as tears began streaming down her face while she continued to stare forward blankly, trudging along in the dirt. She kept pressing onwards, but the stress and exhaustion were so oppressive, that she wasn't sure she'd be able to go on much longer. She had to rest off what she'd just been through, and even then it wouldn't be fixed overnight.
Lunie, please be okay... please just come back to Lucerne with us... I don't wanna lose you too... There's already Father and Devon... Please don't be the third one...

Cold. Had it always been this cold? Selunae didn’t remember it being so darned cold, but here she was, shivering. She was truly alone now, and the chill she felt compounded her sense of lonely dread, as if her life had become irreparably desolate. That probably happened to everyone that abandoned everything they cared about, so it would just have to be something she adjusted to. The silence in the air was stifling, yet any sound that broke it was frightful, she hated both. She hated herself for being here. Was she shivering from the cold or the fear? Gods, it felt the same either way.
Every footstep carried the penalty of sound, no matter how soft her step. Was it just her or did her footsteps echo in the distance with horrible, telling racket. She was terrified to go forward, but every time she thought of turning back, the thought of facing the others in shame stopped her. What if she kept going along the road into the forests ahead? No, no, she couldn’t turn back. No matter how scary. If there was some way she could help the hunters, she owed it to them to find it. It really was that simple. No, that wasn’t really simple at all. She was tiptoeing around bushes and underbrush, trying to avoid being heard by someone that might be miles away for crying out loud. Simple ended with the ambush and betrayal. Focusing on the anger made this easier. It emboldened her. Cowardly thoughts had no place here. ‘Bold men change the world while cowards watch the world change.’ That is what Roddrick had told her. Could she make a change?
Selunae’s heart skipped a beat. Distinct sounds of an approaching horse alerted her that she wouldn’t be alone much longer. She’d tried to not leave Starchaser too close to the path, but she couldn’t bring her far off of it either in case the bandit stronghold was near enough for the idle sounds of a horse to not go undetected. To her surprise, the horse galloped by. The faint sound of hooves faded into silence as the indistinguishable figure of its rider disappeared into the obscure distance. Before her sigh of relief came, yet another horse approached. The huntress found herself holding her breath in anticipation hoping this horse would continue onward as well. It wasn’t to be, however, the din of the gallop had muted itself far too early. Was it Ito? Chase? Selunae clenched her teeth and exhaled a quiet sigh. Whatever the case might’ve been, it demanded that she avoid detection from not only any bandit watchmen that may be about, but also whichever of her companions had made chase(ding!).
The arrival of her former companion added a new element of urgency that disrupted her rhythm. No longer could she take things at a slow pace or play at second guessing her intentions. If she didn’t stay ahead, then she’d certainly fail no matter who had come to her ‘aid.’ A new burden of fear had taken the luxury of pacing itself upon her shoulders, a trembling apprehension that threatened to overwhelm her with feelings of hopelessness. Selunae wanted desperately to turn back, to fling herself into the arms of Ito and accept to futility of this mission. It was the easy way out. Then, she could go home and mope, wallowing in pity and despair over her uselessness. As loathe as she was to admit it, that felt like a much better idea than what she was doing. Shortly after, another set of hooves drew to a halt. If there was more than 2 horses, then for sure someone was here that didn’t need to be. Certainly the first two horses had to have been Ito and Chase, in no particular order. This was not good. Not good at all. If Alphonz or Kyra showed up, no, the huntress didn’t want to consider either of them trying to retreat with those wounds. Even after initial treatment, Alphonz had clearly not been in condition to engage in nor disengage from any kind of combat.
Now, Selunae was at a loss. She’d hoped to keep the others safe, but now it truly was a lost cause to go on. Frustrated, she slammed the bottom of a clenched fist into a tree she was using for cover. Pain flushed through her hand, rewarding her for her effort, but it didn’t satisfy her emotions, only thwarted any further transgression against the tree. With dismal acceptance of the mission being compromised to an unacceptable level, the huntress sank to the dirt with her back against the tree. Elbows propped on her knees and face buried in her palms, she waited for the inevitable face of Ito or Chase to emerge. However, a problem arose. Footsteps. They were coming from the wrong direction. The huntress froze in fear, forgetting to even breathe as she tried to guess whether to flee or stay. When a familiar voice called out, it was the biggest relief she could have asked for.
“Is someone out there?” It was one of the hunters. The mission wasn’t over. There was still a way.

At the very least, the fact he had removed his armor helped with reducing the sound of his movement. He did however feel much more exposed now that his trusty plate mail was nothing more than scrap metal until he could get it repaired... He also started getting used to the overall feeling of tiredness and sluggishness his injury had given him. Although, wether that was due to actual tolerance or him starting to lose sensation, he did not know nor did he want to think about it. HE needed to find Lunie and that was it. His duty as a knight of Bern was more important than anything else right now. He much prefered to sacrifice himself a bit if that could mean possibly bringing her back from certain doom. Bern's citizens were the people he had to protect, and wasn't gonna forget that soon.
Continuing his slow and arduous walk through the woods, he tried to stay silent however his injury and earlier loss of blood was making his entire body feel heavy so going from hiding place to hiding place was becoming quite difficult. Holding his side, he tried to keep his breathing steady as to not tire himself out quickly. Only lowering his body somewhat as totally crouching was too hard for him, he decided to simply stick to stay in trees while trying to follow the logical direction in which Lunie must've went.
Suddenly, he saw something. A bit of red in the distance. Not blood however, this time he could distinctively notice the huntress' hair in the thicket. Trying to pick up the pace since he couldn't simply shout to her as that would probably result in multiple arrows to the face if a bandit was near. Trying to go quicker, he sadly tripped over some small bushes in his clumsy excuse for a jogging pace. Feeling his entire body crash awkwardly in the dirt without catching himself definitely cut the air in his lungs. Coughing a bit, he slowly continued trying to go forward. A few times, he tried to shakily get on his knees but failed. Taking a few seconds to breathe, he finally gave another push and was able to barely get on his feet.
But he had lost her. Continuing his slow movement, he felt despair start to wash over as the direness of the situation was kicking in...

Ito was pushing his luck, for sure. The pace at which he and Kyra walked was not slow by any means, though Ito had yet to break into a sprint. He had to get to Lunie, whether it was to turn her around and go home, or to help her get in and out of Bonerock. There's gotta be something to do, some way to get these three kids back in one piece. How can I save them all, though? I've hardly saved anyone as of late, will I be able to?
...
Of course I will! I'm Ito Kai, of Caelin! Nobody gets through life in Caelin if they don't live near the castle or aren't part of a bandit guild, and I didn't live near the castle or join the banditry! I could probably go home and liberate Caelin after this. Nothing should be able to stop me! Dreams of grandeur began to surge through Ito's mind, his hero complex surfacing and causing him to absentmindedly up his traveling pace again. Picking up a quick jog, Ito darted back and forth, over and around, dodging trees and bushes as he ran through the thicket.
He'd gained quite a bit of ground when quite suddenly, two things caused him to come sliding to a stop. The first was Kyra. Ito realized she was crying, though he didn't know why. Was it the stress of all that had transpired before her this evening? Was it that Ito left her very literally in the dust without giving a second thought? He wasn't sure, and all he could do was turn around and walk quickly to where she was to ask her. As he began to question the motive behind her tears, however, Ito heard a thump. It wasn't far, and very distinctly matched the sound of a body falling hard to the earth. A small while passed after the thump, and the next occurrence piqued Ito's interest the most.
A voice from down the path. Not that of Alphonz or Chase, and definitely not Lunie's, but a voice nonetheless. The myrmidon thought it called out for someone; though for whom the call addressed he wasn't certain. Ito turned to Kyra and apologized, quietly explaining what he'd heard and asking her to wait here or try to find Alphonz, then he took off, running down towards the source of the sound. His right hand rested on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw the blade should it be necessary. Ito made about as much noise as any woodland creature on the run would make, though if he came into the eyesight of the caller in question, he'd have some explaining to do.

Kyra was taken aback a bit when Ito just up and left her because he'd heard something. She understood his caution, but she still wished she could come along, even if just so she wouldn't be alone. At the same time, she knew her injury wouldn't hold up well, were they to encounter trouble. He made a good point though in trying to locate Alphonz. It wouldn't do them much good if they found Lunie, but lost Alphonz in the process. And so, she began to wander around the immediate area.
After a few minutes, she heard some faint coughing a ways away. Not caring what was around her, or up ahead, she moved as quickly as she could, hoping that this was indeed Lunie or Alphonz. Staying behind some bushes, just in case, she watched the figure from behind just to be safe. After a bit, she saw the boy turn his head around, and she stood up to rush over to Alphonz. "Alphonz! Oh gods, Alphonz! Am I glad I found you..." Kyra tried to keep her excitement as quiet as possible, not wanting to alert anyone nearby that might be undesirable. "I-Ito went off to investigate some noises he heard, a-and he sent me to find you. But I was getting really scared in the dark, and.. and... I just wanna go home, Alphonz..." As Kyra ended her sentence, her voice was laced with an overwhelming sense of despair, and inside, she desperately wanted a hug from anyone, but felt it was a bit awkward to ask for one from Alphonz, who she didn't know as well, especially in a moment like this.

|Music|Leaning out to peek around the trunk of the tree she sat against, the huntress found a young man peering nervously at the surrounding area. He seemed to scan the area with fearful glances as if expecting a monster to emerge from the brush, though hopefully she was the only thing out here to find. Well, aside from her companions, if that really was them that she had heard back there in the first place. “Come out, I know you’re there.”Selunae didn’t see anyone else nearby, and she knew this man to be one of her hunter companions from Lucerne, so it seemed okay to dislodge herself from the shadows to speak with him. “Stanvir? Are you okay?”
“Who are.. Lunie?! You’re safe! Oh gods, we didn’t think we’d see ya again.. You’re bleeding!” The young man, a hunter in his early twenties, looked on in amazement as the huntress rose to her feet and moved counterclockwise around the base of the tree into his field of vision. “But how did.. what are you doing here?”Selunae’s lower lip trembled, one of the first surefire signs she was going to cry. She did cry too, as she clumsily stumbled her way over to her old friend and wrapped her arms around him. “I came to help. I heard about what happened..”
“Lunie, this is no place for a girl like you. You should get outta here before you get hurt.” Stanvir put an arm around Selunae and stroked her hair gently. “It’s too dangerous for you to be around here.”
“Don’t be silly,” the girl giggled softly, “I’m here to help rescue everyone. I had lost hope before I found you, but now you can tell the others and-” the man cut Selunae off, pulling away with a hand on her shoulder. She cocked her head to the side and gave him a curious glance. “Selunae, we don’t need your help.” Stanvir’s countenance held a serious, grim tone suddenly, completely contrasting the friendliness he’d just displayed. The huntress winced, genuinely hurt that he had used her full name like that. “You.. already have a plan to escape with the others?”
“There is no need for a rescue, or to escape.” The man stared hard into the archer trainee’s confused eyes. She laughed nervously. “How else ya gonna get away? We gotta get all of ya outta there so we can avenge Master Flint.”Stanvir shook his head slowly. “We aren’t prisoners here, we’re here because.. because we wanted to be.”
“Huh? Because.. you wanted.. to..” A terrible shiver chilled her heart at his words. “Yes. We chose to join these bandits. Flint tried to stop us.. so we killed him. I killed him.”Selunae backed away in shock, unable to believe the words she was hearing. “N-no! You, y-you’re lying!” Her foot catching on a vine, the girl fell onto her rear and scrambled backwards as she tried to erect herself vertically again. “He didn’t give us a choice, it was us or him. I am giving you a choice though. Leave. Don’t come back.” The man’s eyes showed little remorse at his confession. “B-but why?! W-why would- How c-could you?!” The teary eyed huntress continued backing away as she got back to her feet. “Selunae! This is your last chance. Go home to your parents and forget about this place! If you don’t, then.. you’ll leave me no choice.” Stanvir removed his bow from his back and slowly nocked an arrow, not actually aiming it yet, but certainly getting the message across. “B-b-but I-I..” Selunae’s words began to fail her with the realization of yet another betrayal suffered on behalf of these bandits. She turned quickly and ran, unable to even see where she was going through the tears. The huntress sprinted forward blindly, blundering right through any brush that happened to get in her way. Her path led her straight to Ito, crashing right into him but pulling away before he could grab or stop her. Continuing on, she emerged through brush near Alphonz and Kyra, the sound of her inconsolable crying identifying her more than any glimpse they would catch before she passed by them. She didn’t make it much further past them before finally she lost her balance and took a spill. She ended up on her side and without the will to stand back up she instead curled into the fetal position and wept. Her arms and legs were covered in an assortment of horrible scrapes and scratches, not even her face was spared as several cuts trickled blood there as well. The cuts and abrasions were largely unnoticed by her though, the real pain was the emotional distress ripping at her heart. She couldn’t understand this, why Stanvir and the other hunters would betray Lucerne. She didn’t know what to think or how to feel. This was inconceivable to her. She didn’t know how to accept it, so she didn’t. Not all the way. Instead she continued to cry, unmoving, in the leaves.

I need to keep going. I have to dig into my last strengths quickly before I definitely lose her. She was there seconds ago, she mustn't have gone far... Come on Alphonz, you need to keep pushing. Breathe, steady your breathing, one step at a time. If you stop now there's a chance you won't get up. Don't think about the pain or the fatigue, just keep focusing on finding her and bringing her back. You father didn't let you come out here for no reason, he knows you can surpass this.
His legs feeling heavier than lead, Alphonz could almost start to feel his vision get blurrier for a bit. However, thing got clearer as he felt more adrenaline thanks to Kyra who had scared him quite a bit. The poor girl was at her wit's end... Alphonz was pretty much in the same boat although for him, he was drained physically instead of mentally. Putting both hands on her shoulders, Alphonz would be lying if he didn't use her to make sure he didn't fall down again. Huff...huff...Kyra, I know you want to go back, believe me, I feel the same. However, I think you'll agree with me when I say that can't let Lunie behind. She might be in danger. We'll all go back home together soon, alright? We..huff...just need...huff huff... to find her..."
Almost as if the spirits had heard his prayer, the redheaded girl went sprinting past both of them only to fall down a bit farther ahead of the both of them. She's not severely hurt... but something definitely happened. Ugh, no matter, she's alive. Time to get the hell out of here, quickly before I pass out.
Letting go of the novice, Alphonz tried to walk towards Lunie. He was starting to feel extremely tired, so much so that going any faster than a slow walk was like torture. All he could do was call out to her while walking with great trouble. He knew that Kyra or Ito would probably reach her way before he could even sit down next to her.

He was so close... The voices before him grew louder as he approached, but before he reached the source they stopped, and the voice of a girl - Lunie's, he recognized it - began sobbing. Ito came to a stop, waiting as Lunie's voice came nearer. The huntress came out of the bushes and crashed into him, which didn't surprise him; what did was that she didn't try to hug him, and instead she pushed away and continued running. "Hey! Lunie! Come back!" The myrmidon's call to her did nothing to slow her down, so Ito gave pursuit. Running after her, he could hardly keep up in her emotionally charged escape.
Dang, I wonder what happened. Usually she'd have wrapped her arms around me, and I would've hugged her back and done my best to comfort her. What happened this time? Whatever it was, it has her spooked or something. Did a bear nearly spot her? Did she see a group of bandits and got scared home? Did she find one of the hunters, but he was dead? I'll never be able to guess. I've gotta catch her, see what's wrong.
So, Ito took off after her. It wasn't hard to follow, considering all the noise she made with her sobbing. He couldn't see where she had stopped, but as the sound grew louder he knew he was coming closer. Then he blew past a hobbling Alphonz, and a quick shoulder check confirmed Kyra was here as well. Now the only person missing was Chase, but Ito neglected to give that point any attention. Ito slowed himself from a run to a walk as he came upon Lunie, seeing her lying on the ground in tears. Ito noticed all of the various cuts and scratches as well, when he took a knee beside her and removed his cape from his shoulders.
"Lunie... What happened?" Ito figured it was best to avoid the staple 'are you okay?' while she was in tears. He just didn't think it would be the right question to ask. "Do you wanna talk about it?" As he asked his second question, he placed his cape over her shoulders very gently, hoping the gesture would comfort her somewhat.
