Jule came running, almost crashing into Flash by accident. Clearly she was as pumped for this as he was. They quickly left the town gates behind them and Flash had to admire the girl's patience. She didn't ask any questions while others could hear them. But her patience didn't last her long. After they left the town the questions, that had probably been piling up, poured out of her mouth. She asked about his plan for fighting and why they needed the haripes wing instead of the whole body. The first question was relativly easy to answer: "I haven't got any master plan unfortunatly. Ahead of us should be a smaller forest surrounded by some hills. Not much but we should be able to tell. The healer that hired me told me that there are supposed to be at least two harpies currently residing there. Maybe more. Depending on where we find them, we can either attack from above to try and do it quickly, or we have to face them openly. Since we don't know the exact terrain yet we'll have to improvise." The second question however was not one he could definetively answer. But I can guess. The probability for this option is comparatively high. "As for the wing: I guess we could get the whole harpy, but I doubt my employer wants a harpie's carcass in his house. The next part is speculation by the way. I do not know exactly why he wants the wing, but I assume it's because of the magic in the harpies. I've heard that a lot of it is stored in the wings. But at least they should be able to carry magic to a certain extent. So with some modifications maybe he could let his magic flow into the wing beforehand and when he needs to use it he can either amplify his own magic using the wing or let the wing "leak" the healing magic onto a wound he cannot be tending to because he is working on another wound. But all of this is theory and only correct if my assumptions are too. Also some things that are theoretically possible are practically too difficult or simply impossible." Flash snapped out of his trance. He had started thinking and continued his train of thought. This probably had bored her...well let's hope it wasn't too bad. "Sorry for rambling on for so long. I started thinking aloud. So about the fighting: We have to improvise basically. If we get the choice, would you rather attack from above and end it quickly, or face it in an open battle? Please tell me your thoughts about it, every suggestion might help." Flash smiled at her hoping she hadn't been too bored to listen.

[OOC: I'm really sorry about the post being so late!]
The swordswoman smiled back, the entirety of Flash's lecture on magic mumbo-jumbo whizzing right past her head. "Right. Juuuust the wing. I gotcha. I'm just gonna, y'know, do my thing." Flash wanted a plan? Out of her? Ha! That was rich. He must've been a traveling comedian. Jule's usual MO was to improvise; if they weren't expecting her, she'd sneak attack. If they were, she'd make a show out of it. She'd seen grand strategies pulled off in the past by her cohorts, but as a mercenary traveling solo, Jule didn't need some master plan to carry the day. Maybe she wasn't as booksmart as your average tactician, but her head was screwed on tight enough to work out a plan on the fly. That was all she'd need.
"Say, Flash," Jule dislodged a pebble from the side of the road and kicked it in stride as she spoke. It seemed that the further they walked into the hills, the more frequent tiny rocks and stones were embedded in their path. Wonder what that was all about. "What's your deal, anyway? You're some kind of merc, yeah? Or a... priest? Your robes are pretty fancy for just any old common dove. What are you doing lookin' for monster parts way out in the sticks?" Honestly, she could've asked herself the same question. "Is your employer guy some kind of monster buff? Not like it's any of my business, 'course. Just makin' conversation." Anything beat the dreary silence of step after tiny footstep crunching against the ground, only broken up by the occasional screech of faraway birds.
Wait, those were birds, right? Those tiny specks on the distant horizon? Come to think of it, the path here was much quieter than the one she'd taken to reach the village. Spooky.

(OoC: no worries I've been pretty busy too ^^) Smalltalk huh? Not exactly a thing he was very good at but I could try and do my best. I have got to learn it sometime right? "To answer your first question: I consider myself a mercenary mage. Or at least a mage that lends his magic to whoever he sees fit as long as that person can pay. And about my employer: It's a local healer so I assume he wants it to improve his skills somehow. Or he doesn't want to lose a bet. Could be anything. At least I know he isn't poor so he could pay quite well." Well to be fair he hadn't exactly said he would pay him. But if the healer didn't pay Flash could always rely on his savings. He would be able to pay Julie but that would probably leave him without much money so he hoped it would not come to that. Seeing that the girl had spotted something not too far off he looked in that direction too, squinting his eyes to see better. It turned out there were two harpies in their line of sight. And there was a rock right next to them, high enough so that one could drop from it, cut the wing and land unhurt. "Jule, the rock. Get up there and try to cut one wing off preferably so fast they don't notice. I'm going to distract them after you attack so that we can escape. So I'll approach them from the side. Ok?

Indeed, as they approached the bird-like figures in the distance the hills gave way to craggy mounds, gradually sloping into the Bernese mountain range. "So this is your game, huh?" Jule pulled up her belt and cracked her knuckles. She was a little rusty when it came to scaling walls, but there were plenty of nooks and crannies jutting out of the mountainside to get a foothold in, and climbing rocks was way easier than brick houses. Minus the whole, y'know, "fall to your death" part. "I'm on it! Watch and learn."
The girl hunched low to the ground, darting off behind the rocks and trees strewn about the hillside in an effort to avoid being seen. She wasn't exactly sure what she was dealing with, but Flash seemed to know his stuff, and if these creatures were oblivious to their approach before, surely they wouldn't have the keen eyesight capable of detecting Jule sneaking behind them. They appeared to be motionless, lazily gliding around the area in a loose circle. Like they were waiting for something to come along. Or someone. Whatever they were up to, Jule couldn't say.
Jule slid up to the face of the crag, the shaded rock cool to the touch in the early sunlight. She'd managed to avoid being detected, so far. The closer she approached, the faster her heart started racing. Flash was a few hundred meters behind her, his white hair and garb all that she could make out from the distance. She sincerely hoped he was watching her approach. This was gonna be so cool. Setting her pack down she reached for the closest handhold and began to climb. Handhold after handhold, foothold after foothold. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. Her fingertips slipped a couple times, and her hands and knees picked up quite a few scrapes from the rockface, but she continued to scale the cliff undeterred. Really, it was almost going too well.
She was only a few meters from the ground, but it took ages to scramble to the top without being seen by the patrolling harpies. They were admittedly much uglier up close than she had expected, but what could you expect of monsters like them? Just as the undead were to humans, the harpies were to... the Taguar, Tagwell, whatever they were called again. They were ugly, you got the picture. Jule lied in wait at the top, ready to pounce with her sword fully drawn. She just had to wait for one to glide around again and...
The harpy unfortunate enough to fly close to the rock was just as shocked as Jule when they met face to face.
"Uh, whoops." The harpy shrieked in surprised rage, but not before the girl could tackle it with a cry of her own. Putting all her weight into one toppling blow, she managed to send both herself and the beast toppling over the edge of the rock. One arm locked around the beast's neck, the other firmly holding onto her sword, the girl tried to hack at its wing, but it was just flailing around too much to get a good clean cut across. That, combined with how awfully close the ground was getting, and how the other harpy was alerted to her presence, made her realize that her brilliant stealth plan had gone kaput.
"FLAAAAAAAAASH!"
So much for the element of surprise.

At first everything was going well. Flash saw how Jule started climbing, slowly, step by step. Then she was at the top. Flash could barely see her small sillouette on top of the rock so he could be pretty sure she was hiding well. When one of the harpies started gliding towards Jule's hiding place he readied himself. He heard the beast shriek and saw Jule jump at it with a battle cry. Both actions happened almost simultaneously so the harpy had close to no time to react. But that is when everything started to go wrong. While trying to fight of Jule, that was holding on tightly, the harpy was flapping its wings around very very quickly. Probably comparable to the speeds at which some of the smaller birds moved their wings when they were flying. But the harpy wasn't doing it to fly; it was doing it out of fear. Jule wouldn't be able to cut it's wings like that! "Oh dammit. That wasn't accounted for... " To make matters worse the second harpy had been alerted by the shriek and was trying to help it's fellow harpy friend. Jule screamed his name. Looking in her direction he saw that the harpy which Jule was "riding" was spiraling towards the ground fater than he woul've deemed safe. He started running towards the place where he assumed they would land. While running he started casting: Collect. Form. Release. Take this! He sent a fireball at the second harpy. He was pretty sure that it would hit the harpy and burn it a bit, but it would only burn one wing at best. And it's not like they needed two. He didn't take the time to look at the results though, but instead kept running. While his muscles weren't big, his body type was predispositioned to have muscles that showed only when they were used. Obviously that wasn't good if you wanted to look buff, but fine for everything else. And while he would never be the fastest runner in all of Elibe, he was quite fast on short distances, so he hoped he would reach the falling duo in time. "Jule! Either try to fall so that I can catch you or get off so that I can roast this bird!" The thought of a young girl falling into his arms would've made him laugh under any circumstance. He didn't exactly have a lot of experience. Less than average probably. Clearing his mind he readied himself to catch her or cast a fireball, all while still running. His gaze was focused on Jule waiting to react to her movements. Now it was up to her which way she would jump.
