"It's alright, Lunie. Don't worry about bringing up any bad memories. You couldn't have known, after all. As for whether I think ravens are bad omens? Honestly, I'm not too sure. I'd like to think they're not, but I lack proof either way, so I guess I can't really say for sure." Pausing for a moment thinking hard on what to say for the next part, Kyra continued cautiously, "I.. I don't know.. If, say, we did die, how would we know the raven was for sure the cause of it? It could just be pure coincidence." Wanting to change the subject from the uncomfortable idea of their deaths, Kyra was glad Lunie asked about her purchasing the bird. "Honestly? I don't think I'd mind buying the raven, but I won't do it now. Maybe down the road if it's still there, but I don't know if I'm ready to own one yet."
Kyra had to think for a second when Lunie mentioned what she would do after this whole debacle with the bandits was over. "Well, uh, I haven't thought too much on it, but I know I want to leave Lucerne... again. I want to see more of the world, but at the same time, I don't think I'm quite ready yet to leave the borders of Bern. I know the Tournament of Arms is coming up soon, so I'm planning to go and see that, and maybe even meet some of the fighters. Maybe I'm ml be able to learn from some of them too! I don't know what you planned to do, but I guess I wouldn't mind having a, uh... goofy sidekick, as you put it, whenever you're available, heheh!"

The jest about them dying didn’t seem to come across as humorous to Kyra. Perhaps Selunae’s own fears had shown despite her best effort to hide them. As she polished off the sandwich with a final regretful bite, she pondered the philosophy of Kyra’s answer. How would one know if it was indeed the presence of a raven that foretold of someone’s death. Did the scarred raven’s presence earlier mean someone was going to die? Oh, don’t be silly, it was a captive raven. It would have been there had they not gone to the pet shop anyway, right? What was the big deal anyway? Was it because ravens were black? The bird had quite a presence though. A talking bird would make a great pet, even if the speech wasn’t from an intelligent grasp of human communication. “Silly bird..” The huntress muttered the line with a laugh, hoping she could get Kyra’s spirits up again. As Kyra spoke of her interest in maybe eventually returning for the raven, Selunae couldn’t help but agree. She, herself, couldn’t help but admit a lack of general preparedness for owning a large bird like that. “Hmm, yeah, but we can still be bird buddies someday!”
The Rusted Flagon was already looming in the distance, a beacon marking the end of the road for the day of leisure the girls had enjoyed together. Selunae wished the day had been longer, that she could have spent more time with Kyra before the pressures of the task at hand replaced the simplistic joys they had been experiencing. Mulling over in her mind the plans of the novice, Selunae decided she should also give her own answer to the question. “The Tournament of Arms? I hadn’t even heard ‘bout it. I don’t s’pose a buncha sweaty guys with swords and axes could help me out much with my bow. Maybe I’ll go with ya anyway though. Might be fun! I’m gonna have to leave Bern for trainin’ soon, though. Somebody told me ‘bout these archers in Sacae that ride around on horses ‘n I was hopin’ they could teach me. I promise I’ll come back to ya soon as I can though! Then we can go on a huge adventure! First though, looks like it’s time to find my friends. We got some bandits to deal with.”
Even the leisurely pace the girls walked had only delayed their inevitable arrival at the rustic-borderline-dilapidated tavern, situated in the fringe between the lower class section of Lucerne and the outlying rural settlements just outside the walls. Selunae had been enthusiastic to finally have a chance to go here, feeling like it it would make her more mature to be able to enter its doors. She grew increasingly nervous as she drew closer and closer to the establishment though. What answers waited within?
