So Melia is an assassin, huh? Geez, I guess I should make sure I never get on her bad side then. I'd rather not get myself stabbed in the shadows of an alleyway, or however an assassin like her might decide to dispose of me. Guess she can't be too bad though, stitching me up like that. Still, it does make sense why Sigma would still be somewhat wary of her, especially in his line of work. I know they've temporarily taken me in to care for me, but I should still try and be on guard in case Melia tries anything. Not sure what she'd have against me though, unless she has some connection with Seymour, and didn't like what we were talking about outside...
Getting so caught up with the food, and Sigma telling of his business with Juniper and Seymour before that, Rhia had almost completely forgotten about Geist, something that rarely happened to her. Gasping a bit herself after Sigma brought up the subject, she responded, "R-Right, Geist! I almost completely forgot he was here, what with everything happening so fast since I woke up! I'm just about done, so if you don't mind, then I'd love if you could take me to him. I do want to make sure he's alright. Not to mention, he's probably scared out of his poor little mind being here with a couple total strangers... He needs to see my face again, I'm sure. Poor little Geist... Rhia's tone while talking about her horse seemed almost like that of a mother talking about her child, and in truth that wasn't far off. She'd been with Geist for a few years now, ever since he was a foal, and if there was even the possibility of him still being hurt, Rhia had to know.

"Jeez! Who knew you acted like such a protective mother when it came to your horse? There's no need to worry, I didn't just leave him out in the sun... Come on, I'll show you." Picking up both plates he removed them from the table before heading for the door. Ugh, I thought that conversation would help me forget Juniper for today... The more I talk, the more I feel like I'm wasting time that could be used to go find her. At least I'm good at keeping a straight face despite it all. This Rhia girl already knows a lot about me anyways, I should try to at least have some restraint.
Walking outside, he noticed it was already sunset, the amber sky radiating throughout the city of Badon. Walking through the small garden where the dummy used to stand, Sigma went around the house to come in front of some extremely basic stables, it was actually quite surprising that three horses were able to fit in there. Hay was strewn about on the floor and the wooden ceiling helped prevent there being too much sun. It seemed that Geist was already getting used to Sigma and Melia's horses! Or maybe there's just not enough space for them to fight, that would also be true.
"Here they are. As you can see, your little Geist is as fit as a fiddle! I did use elixir to treat his wounds after all. Some people might even say using it on a horse is a waste but I felt that I needed to at least try and fix the damage I had caused. Unlike Melia, I prefer to maim and kill to an almost non existent degree if I can help it. Also, they're horses, I'm not gonna hurt a horse, they're way too kind." almost as he was finishing his statement, Gambit exhaled while shaking his head almost as if he was agreeing. Smiling a bit, Sigma remembered how deeply he had come to care about the brown stallion. Hmm, I hope they're not mad I kindof stole him...

Seeing her unmistakable black horse in the stables, Rhia ran up and began immediately stroking his mane, with the horse responding with an excited whinny. "Aww, Geist, I'm happy to see you too, boy! I know I've been away from you for a bit. I was hurt pretty bad, but I'm getting better, and then I can get back to riding you again, okay?" By her to me of voice, Geist seemed to understand some idea of what she was getting at, or it at least seemed like he did. Regardless, Rhia kept petting him before stopping briefly to speak to Sigma.
"Well, I guess you were right. I'm sorry for not wholly trusting you on the matter. It seems Geist is in fact in top shspe, and he's even made a friend it seems!
Hmm, Sigma doesn't seem to be all that bad. Seems he's got a soft spot for animals, and even animals aside, he tries not to kill if he can avoid it. That seems pretty respectable to me, as far as I'm concerned, even if he does skirt a sort of gray area in his occupation and association with people like Melia.
Responding to what Sigma had said, Rhia now spoke up after being briefly lost in thought. "Yes, horses are very kind creatures. You know Sigma, you did the really strike me as a horse person, if I'm honest. What's your horse's name? He seems to he getting along reasonably well with Geist, which is good. If I'm gonna be here a few days, that'd be for the best."

"Don't worry about it, I can understand you'd be protective of the little guy. Looking at his own horse, Sigma thought he would probably also be concerned if he had been in Rhia's position... Petting his own horse as he saw her doing the same, he felt bad for having hurt Geist like that. Sometimes, doing what you need to do sucks. Don't I know it... Ugh, stop! Right now's not the time to start thinking about Juniper again... Just... I gotta keep my mind occupied right now.
Realising that she was asking him about Gambit, Sigma turned his head in surprise before shaking off his earlier thoughts. Looking at the stallion, he said: "That's Gambit. I didn't use to be that much of an animal lover, but after this guy saved me from a few bad spots, I can say he's definitely grown on me. I can't fight on him the way you do, but wihout him I'd still be travelling somewhere in Elibe on foot right about now. Funnily enough, I actually got him from a small group in Ilia calling themselves the Resistance. Right now they're trying to protect Carrhae from Etrurian attacks. Sadly, I didn't stay for long. I realised that if I wanted to help fighting Etruria, there were better ways for me to use my skills... Hmm, I really hope they're not TOO mad I technically stole him... Eh, he's probably happier travelling with me. Ain't that right, Gambit?"
The horse exhalled in response to Sigma's voice, something that made the thief snicker depsite knowing he didn't really understand human language. Oh god, I've started speaking to my horse, I'm becoming one of THOSE people.
Turning to look at the cavalier, he realised they were pretty much nerding out about horses. Smiling a bit, he asked the girl something: "You don't look like the stealer type... I imagine you must've bought him somewhere? Your horse, that is. Or did your mercenary group give him to you?"

As Sigma went on telling about how he'd obtained Gambit, Rhia wasn't at all surprised when he said that he'd technically stolen him. She wasn't going to object though, as the two of them did in fact seem to get along alright, so who was she to try and end that bond? What did surprise her, however, was the information broker's involvement with the Ilian Resistance. "Wait, you worked with the Resistance? And you still work against Etruria? Yikes... I'd imagine that's just asking for trouble. I hope you know what you're doing. I've heard nasty stories of the kinds of things the Inquisitors do to their prisoners at times. Makes me happy they've never had a massive presence in Bern thus far. Of course, we've had our own range of issues in recent years. I get this feeling that Bern is just destined to never be truly at peace."
Hearing Sigma turn the subject to how she obtained her own horse, Rhia responded, "Oh, yeah, I'm not much for thievery and the like. Geist was given to me by my mercenary commander when he was in the later stages of being a foal. He was so cuuute! Ah, who am I kidding, he still is! A-anyways, yeah, that's how I got him. My commander..." It was very clear that Rhia was now trying to hold back something, perhaps similar to what she was avoiding during dinner as well. Whether she could be made to say it wasn't clear, but by the way she just trailed off a bit at the mention of her commander was definitely odd.

The Inquisition... Man, the stories I hear about them still send a chill down my spine... Hehe, guess they wouldn't that bad for a target, one of these days... But in all honesty, Sigma knew he wasn't in a lot of trouble. Except for that one day with Orcleous, Etruria barel even knew he existed. The "Resistance" was so small when he left, just calling it a resistance was a stretch. I wonder how they're faring right now? If Argus still wears that apron during downtime I'll start rolling on the ground, I think.
As she explained how she got had gotten her steed, Sigma noticed that she had accidentally mentionned his commander, or at least it looked like it was something she wanted to avoid considering how she was saying it. Guess I'm not the only one here with a difficult past. Smiling a bit, he walked back towards the garden, where the sun was about to set. He decided to be nice and change the subject again to not have to also make Rhia bring back painful memories like him earlier. "Anyways Rhia, talking about horses is fine and good... But right now, I think I should ask you again. I know I'm being impatient but this is extremely important to me. Junie... well she holds very dear to me, and I want to do everything I can to make sure her father doesn't get to her ever again. That's why I need your help." he then turned, looking directly into her eyes.
"That man will do everything to get her back. If you accept, get ready for a fierce couple of days. I have gold so we'll be able to discuss prices tommorow when I'm more awake. But right now, I simply want to know if you're willing to do this."

Rhia's full attention was on Sigma now by the time he said that he needed her help, looking her right in the eyes as he did. Once she first looked at his eyes, she immediately looked away in sudden hesitation, unsure if she was a hundred percent committed to her choice. Oh well. Screw it, I guess. Let's just go and do this. Looking back at Sigma, she now spoke aloud, "I... Sigma, I just want to preface this first. Just for the record, I don't know that I'm fully on board with this just yet. That being said, I am on board enough to want to help, so I will. I just hope whatever you plan to do over these next couple days is well thought out, and not some brash decision that'll get us both killed. Then again, that's usually the sort of plan I might think up..."
"Gold isn't really a necessity as far as I'm concerned, given the circumstances, but if before or after you still feel like you owe me payment, then so be it. I can't tell you how to spend your money. So um, what is the plan anyways? You said it's too dangerous to go for Seymour directly, so we need to find Juniper. Where is she exactly?" Rhia hoped that wherever Juniper was, that she was at least safe. She didn't want to have to see Sigma being as angry as earlier all over again. His rage actually managed to frighten her a bit at first due to how unexpected it was. Although a part of her also hoped that when they arrived wherever they were going, that Seymour would be there as well, and they could just be done with this easily. She doubted it would be that simple though.

Hmm, guess that'll have to do. I'm already surprised she's simply willing. A woman of principle... As she asked him what his plan was, Sigma didn't say anything for a few seconds. Do I have a plan? I mean, I'm acting very irrationally right now, this might not be the wisest decision. By going there, there's a very high chance I might be putting myself in huge danger. Would it be better for me to not do anythin- NO! Nevermind what happened, I still can't just let Juniper get captured again, whether or not she can't be with me anymore. Even then, she's still my friend!
Looking at Rhia, with a regained sense of determination, he said: "I hid her in Nabata. If nothing happened she should still be there. The plan is going to be to find her and wait for Seymour's mercenaries to show up. Now, depending on the situation, we'll have to either trick them or defeat them. He's probably suspecting there's a chance I'll have defeated you and be there to protect her, so we'll have to expect a lot of them. With the three of us, being smart is going to be our only hope. When we've secured her is when we finally take down the man himself... Or at least I hope so." still feeling anger dwell within him, he decided to stop talking before doing something stupid again like earlier. Walking up to Rhia, Sigma reached out with his hand, waiting for her to shake it.
"And that's pretty much it. I don't know how long it'll take. A few days or maybe even a week. Though somehow, I think I can trust you. So? Are you ready for this? Your help would be much appreciated."

As Sigma began explaining the situation, Rhia grew wide-eyed when he said where Juniper was hidden. "Nabata!? I didn't realize she was in Nabata! I'd certainly hope she's in the portion closer to Lycia, or else I fail to see how you'd expect us to be done in a week tops. I'll still help, but I will warn you that I've never stepped foot in the desert, so I may not be quote as effective as I normally would be, at least until I'm more accustomed to it. Of course, you may just make my day and say that we won't be going into the desert proper, which I really hope you end up saying."
Once the rest of the plan had been explained, Rhia was quiet for a few moments before responding. "You know, Sigma? I feel like, as crazy as your plan sounds, it just may work. It's really bold, but maybe that'll a give us the edge we need. Maybe Seymour won't have too many mercenaries, thinking it'd only be you, and also not expecting there'd be a full assault in him while he's away from his own home. Granted, this does still assume he is there, but with your logic, I'm guessing he will be. I may have the tiniest shred of hesitation, I'll admit, but I'm still willing to come along. I've been looking to run some thugs through with my lance for a while now, anyway! Perhaps the support of an armored cavalier is just what you need to succeed in this mission. Who knows, maybe there's no mistake in our meeting? Perhaps this was meant to happen, somehow, so that Seymour could be stopped. Heh, now I probably sound like I'm a rambling priest or something, talking about the 'higher order' and all that."

"Oh no... Oh hell no, don't worry. No desert travelling for us. I did say Nabata but she's quite litteraly on the border. Though it is warm enough to consider it part of the desert, I can tell you that from experience." chuckling to himself, he realised that Juniper would probably a tan by now. Huh, curious to see how she looks...
Realising she had been too busy talking to shake his hand, he decided to simply grab it himself and shake it. I hope I didn't look too weird right there... As she finished talking about how their meeting was predestined, Sigma smiled a bit before answering: "Naaah, I don't believe in that religious stuff. If people wanted me to believe, the churches should've gave me shelter instead of leaving me in the cold. If Seymour is to be defeated, it'll be because I want it. This is my vendetta against him. There ain't no higher power in the sky saying he should die for his sins. I'm doing this for myself and nobody else." seeing he hadn't actually let go of her hand, he noticed how creepy he must've seen right there, with those words. Quickly backing off, Sigma started scratching his head. "Hehe... Sorry about that. Guess I got a little bit excited. But really, with you at my side, I think we'll be able to defeat him, no doubts."
Looking at the moon in the sky, Sigma felt good about this. Like things were going to get better. Don't worry Junie, I won't let him lay his hands on you ever again.
"Anyways... I think it's about time I hit the hay. You too I think. Better take care of yourself so that wound heals up nicely. We do have to travel out soon after all... partner."

Hearing Sigma clarify what he meant about Juniper's location, Rhia let out a mild sigh of relief. "Phew, that's good. I was afraid we were gonna have to trek through the desert and possibly die of dehydration or something. I'm glad to know we'll barely even be crossing the border for this mission. Although I suppose the sun and warmth could could do me some good regardless." Rhia was so carried away with talking that she didn't even notice when Sigma approached to shake her hand until he'd already started the handshake. Noticing that he held on a bit too long, Rhia began blushing ever so slightly as she pulled her hand away, mainly because she felt embarrassed for not noticing his gesture, but also a little bit for another reason that she couldn't quite place. Why did he just hold his hand there so long? Was.. was he just lost in thought? Distracted by something else? Hmm... I'm sure it's nothing.
Rhia was relieved when Sigma mentioned going to bed. "Um, yeah, I am actually pretty tired. Guess I'll see you when my wound is mostly better, and we're ready to leave for Nabata." As Rhia let Sigma's last word sink in, she wondered why he chose "partner" over, say, friend, or something. Speaking up again, she added to her own words, "Y-yeah.. partners.. Well, uh, I guess I'm gonna head off to bed. Good night, Sigma. Try not to worry yourself too much about Juniper, okay? I'm sure she'll be alright when we get there."
