Twelve years ago:
Hiro had been spending his evening in his old friend Tom's pub after earning a fair amount of coin "working" the night before. It had been busier than normal on this night, with the size of the crowd Tom paid Hiro little attention which was normal for these situations. It was as if there was sinister air about suddenly, it was obviously a gut feeling telling Hiro to high tail it out but he knew he couldn't just up and leave without causing some sort of scene. Glancing towards his right, after turning his head slightly he caught glimpse of a man he's had a few run ins with a few times in the past, his fight or flight sense was telling him to leave while he had the chance.
The man walked past Hiro and sat in the stool to his right and waved his hand at Tom to grab his attention. He had ordered a gin and a whiskey and paid for both. Pushing the whiskey towards Hiro he spoke to him without looking in his direction. "I hear you had caused some sort of ruckus. Maybe we should relocate to a table." The man was Jack, to see him outside of the Continental Hotel was a rare sight indeed which wasn't a good thing for poor little Hiro. Normally Hiro would have some sort of snippy retort, but Jack was a man he rather not anger so he grabbed the extra drink and stood up and the two moved to a table without somebody directly next to them. Wasting no time Jack went straight to the point "I heard you pissed off some noble after you had 'some fun' with his daughter. I caught wind of him wanting to find somebody to ruff you up quite a bit, we both know I have the power to quell his anger." Jack reached inside of his jacket and pulled out a locket, opened it before setting it on the table and sliding it towards Hiro. "I'm sure you know what this is, bind yourself to the waymarker and I can make all of that trouble just go away."
Hiro stared at it for a moment before lifting the whiskey that Jack had provided and downing it in a single gulp. "What services would you want from a 'f**k up', as you put it a few times, such as me?" Jack simply just smiled. "I know about that little group you run with from time to time that's not part of the Continental Hotel, while I know you cannot pull them into whatever job the waymarker will lead to whenever that happens but you can learn some great skills from that assassin you tend to work with." Hiro thought for a moment before responding "So, if anybody randomly attacks me, homie is going to be dealt with right?" Jack had nodded in response "Correct, both the person who attacked you and that noble." Hiro looked around for a second before grabbing the locket and pricking his thumb on the needle and pressing it on the inside before shutting it and sliding it back to Jack.
A week ago:
Hiro had spent his time trying to build his army, typically he spent his time with the group but there were moments such as this he branched out to recruit. He would spend his time in the pub listening to the stories the mercenaries would tell about this jobs before attempting to hire any, he sat there nursing his ale when he had that gut wrenching feeling when a man sat next to him. Like twelve years ago his flight or flight sense kicked it saying to get the hell out of there. With no words the man next to him slide a locket towards him. "I'm sure you remember what this is." Hiro just stared at it, he had hoped this day wouldn't come but it has. "You do have the option to refuse it, but at the cost of losing your Continental privileges as well as placing a larger target on your chest. There isn't a place in Elibe you'd be safe." Hiro picked it up for a moment before responding. "There's that island where those animal freaks live." Jack had chuckled "The only way there currently is from Etruria. We both know how hard it would for you to slip around undetected there, as well as word of your waymarker denial getting to Lycia to sail to Etruria to slip on a ship to Vinland there."
Hiro had almost slammed the locket onto the counter. "If we're going to talk about work, let's do it where it's more suitable." The two had left the pub to a hotel, not associated with the Continental since no work related activities are to take place in them. "I'm thrilled to see that you have chose wisely Hiro. I've ran across of a wealthy merchant in this area that has became a thorn in my side. I want him removed." Hiro stared him in the eyes "You know I detest violence. I ain't killin anybody." If looks could kill, the one Jack returned would have dropped Hiro at that moment. "I believe you're not in the position to make such demands. I want him dead within a week by any means necessary." Hiro got up and walked to the door and stopped only to reply. "I'm not going to kill him, but I will get the job done I guess."
Present:
After spending much of the week he was given scouting out the place, learning the ins and outs of the merchant's home as well as any possible threats he figured he could get this job done fairly easily. He did some research on the dude as well, he found out this guy was bidding to become the main supplier to one of the counsel members of the Continental which would give them more power than Jack if this guy was chosen. Given his current funds he lacked the much needed security he needed at the moment but he did have one hell of a pull to get what he needed if he landed the gig. Removing this man would give Jack the time he needed to secure his own resources to keep his current power.
Hiro waited till nightfall to break in, so he could blend in with his surroundings much easier. He traveled lightly, only carrying some tools as well as the 'evidence' he was going to plant so when he alerted the town guard of his treason they'd find it. The fact Ilia was currently at war with Etruria and previously with Bern and this dude had some real fancy crap would help 'prove' he was aiding the enemy for profit.
