Name: Evi (pronounced Eh-Vee) Elwood
Class: Shaman
Age: 23
Born in: Lycia
Appearance: Evi has short black hair that is typically poorly cared for and deep blue eyes. His clothing is all black and he typically wears his hood when he has to travel or interact with people. He wears a pair of brown fingerless leather gloves and brown leather boots, both of which are the only color you'll be graced with aside from his blue eyes. Evi's height stands around five foot six inches and is roughly 105 pounds making him meek in stature and unimposing.
Personality: Evi is a strange character in stark contrast to the more stereotypical view of dark magic users and also quite similar to that view at the same time. On one side of the equation, you have a quiet hermit who avoids people and people tend to avoid him. On the other hand you have a gentle, meek, mild-mannered gentleman with a garden he'd rather tend to than constantly studying the dark arts.
Evi has an incredibly strong value for life on this planet, but has a stern belief in 'survival of the fittest', and that those who can survive in this world will survive and those that can't survive in this world will not. Evi has somehow managed to become the former of the two. This view of life can make him seem cold to those who are weak. Though the reality is Evi himself is weak, he's survived this whole time by avoiding people who are strong or those who would do him harm, by living alone and away from other people. That too, would be a form of strength.
The shaman's biggest hurdle when it comes to dealing with other people and how they view him is that he doesn't say a lot, preferring to be as blunt as possible and use as few words as possible. If you can't read people you won't be able to communicate well with the gentle shaman. It can be even stranger when he interacts with the Taguel as he has a strange fascination with these creatures.
History: From the moment Evi was born, he was destined to be an outcast. His mother a known user of dark magic, feared as 'the witch on the hill' by the villages around their home, he was born to this woman and a bishop father, who was ousted from the church for being intimate with the woman. Though with a father who was a bishop and a feared mother Evi's life wasn't one filled with dangers since most people would rather avoid them all-together. Evi did not grow up with any friends though and was treated horribly by the townsfolk and their kids, who viewed him as if he were the devils himself and called him demon child. Thus Evi had very little to do but help his father tend to a garden he kept and read his mothers books on dark magic and the nether.
After a few years, Evi's father would eventually pass away from disease. The surrounding villages then decided to take advantage of this to try and oust the witch that 'terrorized' them and attacked all at once in the dead of night a few days later. His mother dismayed, could do nothing to prepare and would perish, only being able to allow her son, now about 15 years old to escape. Evi would travel far from his home, which was in Santaruz and into Pherae, when he found a house similar to his old home, small and a distance away from the villages, which would drive him out or execute him if he were found to be able to use dark magic, which happened a few times as he fled and went from village to village, hiding in the back alleys as a homeless orphan now, albeit an older than average orphan. Now he lives quietly in this house, away from other people and grows a flower garden just like his father, and is now able to continue to study in the dark arts, 8 years after the fact now that he's finally gotten some books on the subjects that he was unable to obtain fleeing from place to place. Which he only got picking them up off the corpse of a shaman who was killed by beasts nearby.
NPC fight: Evi stumbled to the ground as he was caught off guard and slid down the steep hill, lost his footing and fell to the ground. It was a poor decision to come out at night in search of food and now he was stuck in a fight with a lone, and starving coyote. The coyote quickly jumped at him and Evi rolled to the side to barely get out of the coyote's clutches and stammered back to his feet, his dark tome falling from his coat in front of him in an ideal spot for Evi, a lucky situation for Evi. Evi picked it up as as the coyote made another desperate strike at at Evi, Evi responded by unleashing the powerful darkness magic as the pages seemed to turn themselves and a ball of darkness surrounded and crushed the thin canine with lethal force, allowing Evi to survive another day, He was going to be eating Coyote tonight. Coyote tasted awful.
PC fight: Evi took the initiative against the swordsman in front of him and immediately used the distance to his advantage, unleashing his magic and summoning a small ball of destructive dark magic which was slightly larger than his own hand which propelled forward towards the swordsman at a decent speed. Evi used the time the swordsman would have to spend dodging to blocking the attack to make an escape and quickly back peddling to maintain distance against the swordsman and avoid a close quarters encounter. Evi hoped to keep the distance and get an opportunity either to escape or to get a chance to catch the swordsman off guard.
