So I’ve been thinking a sort of Character Brainstorming sub board in the Character Profiles would do some good. Basically, it’d be a place for people to post profiles to get feedback directly from other members before the official approval process. This would help cut down on mod burden because members would be able to point out some of the common stuff that gets an app denied like unrealistic fights, using weapons outside of a class, and other things of that nature. Might be a good idea to even make a suggestion in the new player guide that they post their app there first then put it up for approval after getting a little feedback?
I suppose this idea kind of hinges on the assumption that regular members shouldn’t post on a pending app? I realize as I type this I’ve just assumed that was frowned upon as is the usual custom on previous sites I’ve frequented.
Any opinions?

The 'Role Play Discussion' board could be used for that. It's not limited to the description.

It could be, but it isn’t. The point would be ease of access and usability for new members. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to suggest to new players somewhere to use that board for that purpose then if they’re unsure of some element of their profile.

The reason "it could be, but it isn't" is because most people sign up and go straight to work. A large number of them skips the rule section which is why we use a template now. There has been a large number of cases where first post trainiees go into a 1v5 and win without a scratch, which lead to the NPC/PC fight section.
Basically what I'm saying is, the subboard you are talking about is covered by the role play discussion board, people don't use it as such because they jump right into character creation or use the Cbox for instantaneous responses.
