It had been just over a week since Lulu had left her Grandmother's in Bulgar home to search of her missing mother and father. Something deep inside of her doubted that her beloved mother was still alive... but she held onto the tiny silver of hope still lodged in her heart. Her father, however, was a different story. He had rushed away from their home in Ilia when he received the news that his wife had gone missing on the battlefield. All that time... he almost seemed to be hiding something from her. After a short while, they'd arrived in Bulgar, where he left Lulu with her grandmother before taking off once again, leaving no hint as to his destination.
In the few years that had passed since then, Lulu's grandmother had finished training her in the art of combat atop a Pegasus, which her mother had started when she was very young. When Lulu was ten, her father had bought her a beautiful young filly to raise and train as her steed. After a bit of consideration, Lulu had decided to name her Ilia, after her homeland. Her mother was delighted by the choice of name. Now, she walked alongside the now-adult Pegasus, who huffed slightly in annoyance at not being able to fly.
"I know you want to fly right now, girl." Lulu said, stroking her steed's neck. "But you'd hurt yourself, trying to get up into the air with all of that on you." She gestured to the bags hanging from Ilia's sides. They contained everything Lulu considered "essential" for travel, and had decided to bring with her. And so, the pair walked down the clear path through the plains, unaware of how truly long their journey would be.

"HYAH BOY! HYAAAH!" As his voice boomed across the wide open fields, Abelard vigorously whipped the reins of his trusty steed, barrelling along the plains of Sacae with the force of small rhino, heroically charging towards his next destination - which was anywhere that there was a fair maiden in peril or a day to save. What would he come across today, he wondered? Whipping the reins again, Valant's - his trusty steed's - hooves thundered against the ground, kicking up grass and small flowers that were sprinkled across the grassland. "Hark! What could that be upon the horizon?!" The golden cavalier had spotted a rare sight in these lands - a young girl with a majestic pegasus!
Despite the fact that the day was rather sunny and pleasant, with little indication of danger, Abelard knew that the woman could do with some aid, after all, what if she was found by a ruthless band of cutthroats? Why, that simply wouldn't do! "HYAH!" He whips the reins once more, causing Valant to land a short distance in front of the young girl and her trusty mare. "Fairest maiden, what brings you to walk upon these lands on your lonesome? Perhaps you would like an escort?" The man places his fist on his chest in a respectful gesture, now being determined to help this pegasus rider. ...Whether she liked it or not.
His golden armour glittering in the sunlight that lit up the lush, green plains, he jumps off of his horse, deciding that it would be more equal for him and the girl if they were on equal footing - even if he was a large height taller than her. "Where is your destination, my lady?" He stands in front of her with his hands placed on his hips in an unwavering manner, flashing a bright, charismatic smile that highlights his overconfident attitude.

The sudden appearance of the man on horseback startled Lulu, especially with his loud (and somewhat overbearing) voice. Clearly, it wasn't only Lulu who had been startled, as Ilia reared up on her hind legs and thrashed her wings about.
"Shhh..." Lulu soothed her loyal steed, rubbing her mane gently. "It's okay..." She then turned to the man, preparing to answer the man's question. Of course, her social anxiety began to kick in, and she simply couldn't meet the man's eyes.
"I-i'm headed to Mullengard," She answered plainly. "And, w-while I appreciate the o-offer, I don't believe I'll n-need an escort..." And so she simply stood there, waiting for her pegasus to calm down so they could once again continue their journey. However, They were unaware that they were being followed...
The mercenaries studied the pair with hungry eyes... They weren't men with much of an attachment to their morals. They'd been hired by an anonymous (and quite wealthy) man to hunt down the girl and her pegasus, and kill them before they managed to reach their destination. One of them smiled in a quite disturbing manner, indicating that he may not quite be sane. The other simply gazed upon the newcomer, this man atop a horse of his own, and sized him up.
"Hmm..." He muttered. "Who could this man be?" His partner laughed maniacally.
"Does it really matter?!" He licked his lips. "Let's kill them BOTH!" The first man held his hand up.
"Patience, brother... We will... Soon enough."

"Aha!" Abelard chortles loudly, swinging his head back and being amused by the young girl's claims that she wasn't in need of any assistance - perhaps she was too modest? Nevertheless, it was his honoured duty to protect the denizens of this land, after all, he was Abelard the Bold! The mightiest and most just cavalier in all of Elibe! "Nonsense, my dear! Clearly your modesty is vastly more abundant than even your beauty! It is my solemn duty to protect innocents such as yourself!"
The golden cavalier throws himself back onto his horse, deciding that he would lead the way for the young girl, and ensure that she got to Mullengard safely... wherever that was. It did not matter to Abelard, what matters was that there was a fair maiden in need, and he was obliged to assist her. "Come, my friend! Abelard the Mighty shall pave a way through these plains for you! Follow behind me!" Abelard enthusiastically whips the reins of Valant once more, and the horse seems to rear back and neigh with as much heroism and eagerness as his owner. Removing the lance that was attached to the side of Valant, the man valiantly brandishes it, pointing it far in front of him.
"Should any blackguards dare to approach you, then I shall rain down my righteous fury, and pave a path of hope and prosperity for you!" He then noticed the heavily laden pegasus, and knew for a fact that it would only be courteous for him to offer his trusty mount as an alternative for her steed carrying all of the bags. "Please, load your baggage onto the majestic Valant! This horse can carry 300 tons of weight and not break a sweat!" Valant follows up with an almighty "neigh", which seems to almost boom louder than Abelard's voice.

With his helm down, Dimino only looked down at the ground in self-disappointment. Though it has been days since the lost battle in Lycia (not to mention, miles behind him at this point) he still couldn't get over his guilt of failing the townsfolks in the village. He breathed a sigh as he lifted his helm up. "This just won't do" Dimino muttered to himself. "The tribal chieftan would scorn me if I continued to think of my failures...It's time that I forget about it, move on, and get stronger so that something like that won't happen again" Dimino said to himself. He felt his new polished shield behind his back along with his trusty lance. His last shield shortly after the battle was damaged from the acids that sprayed on it from the Baels during the battle. Plus, it just looked better all nice and polished.
As Dimino lifted his head, he noticed a duo of sorts traveling along the pathway. A cavalier of sorts and a...Pegasus Knight? Being from Nabata, he's really never seen many Pegasus Knights with his training. Nevertheless, he figured that the girl was from Illia since thats where most Pegasus are found most commonly. As for the cavalier though...he didn't know why, but from the way he looks, he'd be a vigilante of sorts. Either that, or he was just someone that had other plans. Yet at the same time, Dimino couldn't help but feel that he should travel along with them. Who knows, it may help him get over his guilt of the lost battle in Lycia.
Deciding to keep his distance for now, he decided to fall in behind the duo with an expressionless look on his face. Of course, for all he knew, these could just be more brigands seeking to rob from him. It wouldn't be the first time that he was almost deceived by looks (Not to mention, age) He felt his lance that was tucked behind his shield as he kept his distance behind the duo, as his cape flowed with the gentle breeze that seemed to blow towards him.

Lulu simply stood by for a moment, quite confused and trying to figure out the right course of action. She didn't know if she could trust this man... Something about him, weather it be his boisterous attitude or his apparent delusions of grandeur, made it seem like he was not sane. But she'd already refused him once... And she got the feeling he wouldn't take "No" for an answer. She sighed and began to lift her bags off of Ilia, who whinnied in protest, and carried them over to Valant.
"V-very well..." Lulu stated quietly. "I-if you insist." Meanwhile, their stalkers still waited close-by, and were readying their move.
"The man is clearly not in his right mind," stated the more sane of the two. "Tyrius, hand me the Box." The other man cackled gleefully, but thankfully they were far enough away from the group not to be heard.
"With pleasure, dearest brother!" He smiled wickedly and rummaged through a bag filled with everything from basic survival equipment to the deadliest of poisons and most jagged of blades. At last, he pulled out a small box, no larger than a very thick book. It had a golden lock on the side, but the rest of the box seemed to be in very poor conditions.
"We'll overwhelm them..." He stated. "And then the kill will come easily." He slipped a small key into the lock and opened it, quickly beginning to back away. Smoke began to rise from the edges of the box, evidence of dark magic. It seeped into the ground and what appeared to be living corpses quickly rose from the ground. Soon, a group of no more than ten Revenant were quickly approaching the pair, led by these two corrupted mercenaries...

Suddenly, the golden cavalier sticks one arm out, warning the young pegasus rider behind him. "Halt, fair maiden! Blackest evil approaches!" Quickly turning his steed, Abelard looks out into the distance, where he sees the shambling figures approaching them. "What could that be upon the horizon!? Perhaps men who have had rather too much to drink? I think not! I sense that a nefarious presence is approaching us, my girl! My heroic intuition has alerted me to that fact!" The cavalier, determined to find the truth of the situation, quickly removes the bags that Lulu had just placed upon Valant (causing them to carelessly scatter across the floor), and readies his lance.
"I shall boldly charge ahead and see what these insidious individuals want from us!" whipping the reins of his mount, Abelard recklessly yet bravely charges towards the group of figures that seem to be skulking towards them. As he approaches the Revenants and their twisted commanders, he begins to notice the putrid cloud of smoke, and realises that something is indeed amiss. "Come no further! State thy purpose for stalking me, and the pleasant young lady I have begun to assist!"
Ah, the scourge of Elibe. As his eyes scan the crowd a short distance away from him, the thought clicks in his mind, and he realises that this gathering was not of mere men, but disgusting, unholy beasts! Turning his head to look over his shoulder, he quickly shouts to Lulu "Flee, fair maiden! Vile creatures seek to take your life!" Brandishing his iron lance heroically, he threatens the mercenaries and their revenants, and prepares for the combat that is sure to ensue while he awaits the retreat of the young pegasus knight.

Dimino turned his head as he noticed...Revenants, here?!? There truely IS no place he can go that is peaceful is there? He was clearly NOT in the mood to deal with monsters such as this. Though he couldn't help but notice that they seemed to be more concerned with the young Pegasus rider. No matter, he pulled out his lance and shield as he turned his attention over toward the shambling undead that slowly tried to make their way over towards the rider. Though the cavalier breavely (Or stupidly) charged toward the source of the monsters, Dimino knew that the rider was unprotected with the undead heading towards her!
Dimino lowered his helm over his head, which hid his head except for his eyes as he ran towards the rider to lend his aid to her. "Perhaps some aid is in need? I won't let them touch you!" Dimino yelled out. He rose his lance as he lets out a warcry of sorts. He got in a defensive position with his lance in front of his shield as the shield covered his front. I failed once in Lycia, I won't let this be the second time these monsters defeat me! Dimino thought. As one of the revenants got closer, Dimino bashed it back with his shield as he stayed by the young riders side. He couldn't help but think though...normally revenants don't appear in a way such as this. Clearly something fishy was going on...foul play perhaps? For now though, Dimino focused on protecting the rider and hope that the cavalier wouldn't foolishly get himself killed.

Lulu turned her head and gasped in horror at the sight of the unholy creatures. Truly, some foul play was afoot here... Revenant didn't usually appear anywhere near Sacae, as far as she knew. She'd only encountered their kind once before, and even then it was a single one, straying from it's cohorts into her village. Her grandmother, even in her old age, had slain it with ease. But there were quite a few here this time... However, with three people at work, they could surely defeat them all with ease. She grabbed her lance from within her bag and lept atop Ilia.
"I-I will not flee!" Lulu cried to the Cavalier. "I'm a trained p-pegasus knight! I'll h-help you dispose of these foul beasts!" Then she turned her attention to the knight who had just appeared. "I a-appreciate your help, sir! I-it appears we may need all the a-assistance we can get!" Then, she flicked Ilia's reigns, and the mare whinnied joyfully at the prospect of finally being able to take flight after so many hours without it. The pair rose into the air gracefully and surveyed the battlefield... The two men were obviously more skilled in combat than she, and so she decided that, for now, she'd relay information to them.
"I c-count about twelve of them!" She told the two from above. "And there are two l-living men in the back... They a-appear to be giving them orders!" Meanwhile these two men pushed their way through their crowd of undead soldiers.
"Tyrius," The first said as he unsheathed his sword. "Take the lancer. I'll deal with the mounted one." He gestured toward Abelard. "Don't worry about the girl, yet. Her inexperience on an actual battlefield is clear." The other one nodded and brandished an axe before rushing toward Dimino...

Seeing Dimino join the fight, Abelard lets out a mighty laugh and praises his new ally. "Huzzah! Well met, good fellow! We greatly appreciate your assistance in removing these foul demons from the face of Elibe!" Avoiding entering the crowd like a fool, the golden cavalier instead chooses to fight individual Revenants, hacking and slashing at different ghouls whenever they got too close. "Begone, blackguard!" Brandishing his iron lance, he charges at one of the enemies, running them through at a rapid speed. "Farewell!"
As the young flier took off to the skies, Abelard applauded her bravery with an ovation, although he briefly lowers his lance to do so... in a position dangerously close to the enemy. "Fair maiden, truly your courage knows no bounds! You have a heart as mighty as a lion's, and instincts as fast as a wolf!" His complimenting of Lulu distracting him, he fails to notice a Revenant make a slashing motion at Valant, the horse however, instinctively jumps away from the spectre, neighing loudly. "Woah boy! Steady now! You! Fiend! How dare you attempt to blindside a hero of truth and justice!?" Readying his lance once more, the cavalier pokes at the undead assaulter before pulling back slightly. "At the moment I appear to be outmatched, but a valiant warrior never yields!" This statement was entirely true, as the unwavering hero was already preparing to begin his next attack upon the Revenants.
Hearing the knowledge from Lulu that there are men within the demonic horde, Abelard becomes appalled at the idea that men would use such horrific monsters to gain an advantage in an ambush. "You men who hide amongst the dead, yield now or join their ranks!" Watching the first assassin wielding a sword break through the crowd, Abelard smiles smugly before raising his lance. "How cowardly of you, using a band of monsters to your advantage! You shall pay for your sins at the end of my blade, cutthroat!"
Lashing the reins of his steed, Abelard charges at the sword-using mercenary, preparing to strike him down. "Pray to thy gods!"

A traveler walked through a path, while reading a Tome in the meantime, the traveler was a simple Mercenary Mage in search for a job so he could earn some gold, "Oof...another village with no jobs to offer, guess I'll just have to keep looking" Gorou said to himself, however he noticed something not very common in the way as he noticed the skirmish going on. "What the...renevants? Here? Oh...that makes sense. Clearly an act of Dark Magic around here..." Curiosity took the better of him as went closer to confirm his suspicions, "I can't stand here without doing nothing...it also might be an opportunity to raise money..." He said as he analyzed the battle.
He thought, "The Knight might be able to defeat a couple of them, and the Cavalier might also do the same, so let's make this easier for them, by scorching a few of the Renevants! There's a Pegasus Knight too, why isn't she attacking? Not my problem, as long as I don't have to talk to her personally..." His mind went off-topic as he blushed for a moment, his shyness and social awkwardness being some of his main weaknesses. He went back to reality as he noticed the girl shouting. "There are also 2 bandits...let's see how they deal with my Fireballs, wait...that creates a dilemma, my Magic can't be used too much, I can't throw many Fireballs...so it would be better to attack wisely...Renevants first, they aren't that resistant to Magic..."
The Mage walked closer and threw a Fireball onto a Renevant, it was powerful enough to burst a Renevant in flames and kill it, he then threw a second Fireball onto another Renevant, this time however it only pushed it back a few steps, The Mage then stepped backwards and sighed once, noticing that this one will take another blast to kill.

Dimino nodded quickly towards Lulu and Abelard as he bashed aside another revenant with his shield, then proceeding to skewer the head of said revenant. Two men giving the revenents orders? Dispicable...I will not forgive them Dimino thought. He could never forgive anyone that associated themselves with vile creatures such as these considering his memories from the lost battle in Lycia! He gripped his lance tightly as he glared down at the charging axeman. If this brigand was truly so eager to meet the sweet embrace of death so soon, Dimino was more than willing to give him that.
Diminos attention quickly turned toward the mage that threw some fireballs at some of the other revenants. He couldn't help but smile slightly as he reconized it to be Gorou, the mage that he teamed up with to defeat seperate revenants before his battle with the Baels in Lycia. Guess they'll be joining together for this fight again! But first, to deal with this axeman. He turned back toward the charging axeman as Dimino held his shield in front of him. He lets out a roar himself as he started to charge at the axeman himself, lance and shield in front of him. "Tha xérete ti dýnamí mou!" Dimino screamed out as he swung his shield at the axeman in hopes of at least knocking him off balance. He was not going to let them win, he was NOT going to let these excuses of humans bring such dishonor by associating themselves with monsters!.

Tyrius, the insane axe-wielder, attempted to jump backward and avoid Dimino's retaliation, but coincidentally primed himself for the attack even more. The shield collided with his jaw, knocking loose a few of his teeth as he let out a cry of pain.
"Hrgh..." He groaned angrily as he reached up and held his face. "Heh... heh heh... You'll pay... You'll ALL pay!" He laughed maniacally and, changing his target in an instant, rushed toward the mage. Magic would be a problem... He'd be smart to make quick work of this young fool.
Meanwhile, his brother, the sword-wielder, rushed forward toward Abelard and, at the last second, veers off to the side, using his blade to take a swipe at the Cavalier's leg, which rested on Valiant's side.
Lulu, noticing the mage who'd dispatched one of the Revenant, observed as he lit another one ablaze. However, this one appeared to still be alive, as much as the undead can be. Steadying her lance, she turned Ilia to face the creature and snapped the reigns, shouting a command.
"Dive!" She shouted as she held her lance forward. The pegasus obeyed her command, and the pair dove down toward the zombie-like creature. As they neared the ground, Ilia leveled her flight path and Lulu thrust her lance forward, piercing the Reverant's skin and causing it to dissolve in a cloud of dark smoke.
"I appreciate y-your assistance," Lulu said to the mage. He looked young... Just about her age. Turning to survey the battlefield once more, she was shocked to see Tyrius rushing toward the pair. He raised his axe above his head, preparing to lower it upon Lulu...

"Agh! Dastard!" Abelard quickly whips his horse to the side, getting swiped by the sword wielding mercenary's blade. The injury was not too severe, but the golden cavalier had definitely been struck, and his armour had been damaged. "To taint a knight's armour in such a way... unforgivable, fiend!" Now more determined than ever to defeat his foe, Abelard lashes the reins of Valant, quickly moving away from the mercenary and building a distance between them. "On behalf of the fair maiden you seek to harm, I shall smite thee upon these emerald plains! HYAH!" Upon shouting his battle cry, Valant begins to rapidly charge towards the sword user, the hooves crashing against the grass like a mini thunderstorm as Abelard readies his lance to deal a fatal blow.
Going at such an absurd speed, Abelard nearly loses balance off of his horse due to his leg injury, but as he quickly approaches his foe, he lowers his lance to run him straight through the chest. The mercenary attempts to dodge, but Abelard is going far too swiftly to be avoided, as his lance blows clear through his enemy's chest, splattering crimson blood against the verdant Sacaen plains. "May your God be merciful upon you!" Abelard shouts at his downed foe as he fails to realise that Valant is still charging forward.
"Whoa boy, whoa!" Unable to stop his momentum, Valant charges through the horde, with Abelard struggling to hold on. "Calm Valant, calm! The evil is purged!" Finally bringing his enraged steed to a halt, Abelard realises that he has become separated from his group, and is now on the other side of the horde of Revenants. He knows that he must now attempt to make his way back, but it'd be doubtful that he could charge through the horde a second time without taking considerable damage. "Protect the girl at all costs, men! I shall find a way to assist you once more!" Swapping his lance for his sword, Abelard seeks an opening for him to cut his way back to the group.

Post by Stefanos Katsaros on May 23, 2018 21:27:17 GMT -6
A hooded figure had witnessed the entire battle from it's beginning before deciding to take action. His orders was to do some recon, but he knew he had enough pull to explain him joining into the fray, those unholy creatures and the ones who summoned them would need to be purged from this savage land.
Everyone had seemed to be preoccupied to noticed him walking closer to the battlefield before he spoke up. "I, Stefanos Katsaros, the world's strongest man have arrived to cleanse this area of those foul creatures as well as those who allowed them to step foot here. The only one to leave here alive with me is that man." He raised his hand pointing towards the man with the sword, the one who had control of the box. Stefanos moved that hand, as well as his other one to his hood and pulled it back to reveal his pinkish hair and devilish smile as he put his arms to his side again.
"I know that one versus fourteen is hardly fair, but if all of you work together then you might have a chance to survive. That depends on my mood though." His cloak began to get wider as he reached behind himself with both hands, drawing the daggers from the small of his back then suddenly disappeared and reappeared next to one of the Revenants [Warp used]. He dropped to the ground, extending one leg as he spin a full 360 degrees, once he was facing the now prone Revenat he slammed his right dagger into it's stomach and drove it upwards cutting all the way to it's throat, pulled it out and jabbed it into it's left eye. He rose back to his feet while speaking. "I just hope you're able to put up some kind of fight."
