Name: Aurus
Class: Knight
Dragon Element: N/A
Age: 26
Born in: A small countryside estate in Bern.
Appearance: A tall, well-built man of peach-skinned complexion. His golden autumn hair is left swayed back and short so as to fit easily within his helmet, while his eyes shine the same color. His solid blue armor of silver trim is of a very bulky yet minimalist construction, well-kept so as to maintain the most defense. The shield by his side is quite towering and carries a motif of a plain silver shield. This motif is what allows most to easily identify him. In terms of his weaponry, he will usually carry a javelin upon his back to catch slippery foes.
Personality: Normally, Aurus is a quite kind fellow with a humble but austere countenance towards his peers and authorities. To his subordinates, however, he is far from a lax authority. The knight expects full gusto, obedience, and capability from the men under his command. And above all, those who are destructive and parasitic to society and the good working man earn no quarter of mercy or respect from him.
However, underneath this knightly demeanor is a goodwilled if idealistic heart that seeks to make the world around him less trying on those that seek life through honest work. His hatred of corruption and evil drives him to destroy it no matter where it surfaces. Though, he is no idiot, and knows when steel alone is suicide.
(TL;DR - He has the personality of an Oblivion Guard.)
History: Aurus is the first son of a former Bernese noble. Though his family were far from aristocrats, they did own a small estate near a quiet village, and his father often was involved in the politics of the local council. However, that came to an end when his father was falsely framed and convicted by a higher council for embezzlement of local funds. Though the ordeal was brutal and trying, it was ultimately decided that in exchange for remaining a free man, he was to pay all of what he stole from the city (which was quite a lot), sell his estate, and leave the kingdom of Bern within the month. Aurus' father was thankful for this small mercy, and did exactly as he was ordered. In a week, four year old Aurus and his family took what little wealth they had left and headed west to the plains of Lycia. There, though met with some prejudice, they were able to afford a modest home in a village; and were eventually able to make a living by farming goods and selling them to merchants who frequent the larger towns. Though of noble birth, corruption in the political realm brought Aurus down to a simple Lycian peasant. Despite this, his family managed to make ends meet.
However, even this would come to an end. Lycia is infamous for its banditry, and there is only so much her military could do, or rather her lords wanted to be done. Country hamlets throughout the lands were prime targets for these attacks, and so it would come for a 19 year old Aurus and his two younger brothers and his father. The bandits came at dusk, blades and axes and bows and daggers charging towards them as the villagers scurried together to defend their homes. The raid that ensued was long and bloody for both sides, the bandits that slipped through the cracks of the villagers' defense took what they could and fled into the night with the remaining defenders too tired to pursue them. When the dead were counted by dawn, Aurus found his father and both of his younger brothers among the corpses while his house was hardly touched. His grieving mother fell ill in the following weeks and died, and that was the day Aurus was a free man. The teenager sold his home and farm to generate enough funds to buy for himself a lance, a shield, and full suit of heavy armor. With some food in a bag underneath his breastplate, he set off to begin his life's work of bandit hunting.
Seven years have passed since then, and Aurus has built for himself a modest reputation in those years. While he once operated with a collage of mercenaries, he left their company once many members began expressing desires to commit banditry as "just a side income", and went to the same village the less reputable mercenaries planned to raid before assisting the villagers in the defense. The rouges were defeated, and the villagers had Aurus' noble betrayal to thank for it.
He strikes out on his own for the time being, charging only for his services what he needs to survive the next day, and this has made him preferable to the average mercenary. However, he knows he cannot curb banditry alone, and seeks to form his own militia with full intent on waging war against Lycia's bandits.
Only those of his hometown know of his Bernese descent, and he makes no effort to talk about his heritage to anyone.
(If there's anything else you need to know, just ask. I've never played the Elibe games, so forgive me if this is too generic. I plan a character arc where he starts out as an archtypical hero but ends up becoming an antagonist due to his fanatical ambition to institute law and order.)
NPC fight: A smirk showed underneath the visored helmet as Aurus held his lance into the gut of a bandit, the criminal staring at the cold blackness that resided between the bars of the blue visor. Aurus twisted the lance and jerked it out of the bandit's stomach, prompting a spewing of blood before his opponent would collapse. Aurus then lifted his weapon high into the air before authoritatively bringing his lance down. "Which one of you insufferable scum is next?" He called out in a booming voice to three other bandits in front of him, who all bore fear on their faces before looking towards each other and nodding. The one on his left and the one on his right gave a war cry as they both charged forth to pincer upon the knight. Quickly, he brought his towering shield to bash the bandit on his right, staggering him, before quickly doing the same to the bandit on his left. The bandit on the left attempted to recover, only to be bashed upon the top of the head with the flat side of the knight's lance. The third ruffian attempted to charge Aurus while he was distracted with his two other opponents, only to be met with the same lance thundering into his throat and killing him instantly. The bandit on the left again charged with another war cry. His axe drove into the shield, only to be caught by the metal. Aurus grinned, and used the strength in his arm and shoulder to throw the bandit into his dazed comrade, bringing them both down with a crash. The fight was ended when a bloody lance impaled both of them and twisted. Aurus then sighed, removing the axe from his shield and pulling his lance out of the two bodies. Aurus chuckled somewhat evilly looking back to see the bodies of the criminals, before continuing on his way. "A good way to start the morning." He beamed.
PC fight: Aurus grunted as he brought his shield up to meet the clash of metal from his opponent, "Ha! It'll take more than that to get the better of me!" He threw his shoulder into a shield bash to knock his opponent off balance before bringing his lance arm in for a thrust to the side.
(So yeah, this is about what an attack post against a PC will look like. I typically don't like to lose my characters, so I'll extend that mercy to other players even if it is a little OOC for someone like Aurus. Defeat is another story.)
