"Well uh, I don't think he needs much help. He's really strong and there weren't much monsters." Eqwin said when Lady Lucy told him to lead them to him. "But... Alright, let's go." He said as he began leading the way back.
Sir Argol looked around, making sure there weren't any more monsters. When he saw there weren't, he began riding back to Eqwin and the others. He looked back, just to make sure, and saw the bonewalker get back up. He turned his horse around and quickly decapitated it... Again. He watched over it to see if it would get back up, and after a while it did. When the body went to grab it's head, Sir Argol dismounted and then started smashing his axe into the disoriented creature. It was almost savage. He first smashed the skull, then dismembered it's limbs and tossed them around. This was around the time Eqwin and "his" party got to him.
"Sir Argol? What're you doing?" Eqwin asked, a little disturbed by the act he was watching.
"Making sure it doesn't get back up." Sir Argol explained.
"Do you... really need to do it like that? It seems a bit embarrassing."
"If you let emotions like embarrassment dictate your actions, you could very well die. Or get injured, at least."
"Alright Sir. Lady Lucy wanted to help you, but like I told them, you seem to have everything under control."
"How kind of you." Argol said to Lady Lucy. He got back on his own horse and then rode to the group. "Eqwin. It seems like it's time for you to continue your border patrol, and I need to get back to the outpost so that the people waiting for me don't send even more people to look for me." He said to Eqwin, but looking at Lady Lucy at the end part.
"Alright... But..." Eqwin replied, thinking about something.
"But what?"
"Well I could.. accompany Lady Lucy and Lady Midori to their destination as an.. escort? Yeah, that's the word. It'd be a good bit of experience." Eqwin asked, then gave an excuse for why.
"Hmm... If they're OK with it, but you have to get back safely, and it won't excuse you from the rest of your border patrol."
"Yes sir!" Eqwin said, as he turned to Lady Lucy. "Are you and your friends OK with me accompanying you to... Uh... Where are you going?" He asked.

"It matters not how strong you are.. be one enemy or an army, all it takes is for the enemy to land a single blow in the right place and it will be all over." Lady Lucy cautioned Eqwin.
"It is best to be safe."
The troupe arrived just in time to witness Sir Argol, dismembering pieces of the bone-walker. Lady Lucy found that oddly relieving. She liked it when people were thorough with their work.
"Your Squire came at us in such a rush.. we were under the impression that you needed our help. But.. it seems we were mistaken." The older woman signaled towards the others. They quietly put their weapons away but remained vigilant just in case there was something else lurking around.
"The escort.. is a nice sentiment. But, I fear we.. may have overstayed our welcome. Our presence here has already caused the both of you to be delayed in your tasks. We do not want to cause either of you two more trouble."
It was at this point that Midori got off the wagon and returned to Lucy's side on foot. She was so small compared to the others who were on horseback.
"Monsters are a terrible omen. And we are not even certain if the village we are heading to still exists. We do not want to put you in any more danger."
"But, if you are determined to escort us Eqwin. I will not say no. Though, as Sir Argol stated, this escort will not excuse you from your normal duties. Should you fail them, I am certain you will be reprimanded. Are you certain you can divide your time in such a manner? Are you certain you and your horse can manage additional walking? Are you prepared should you get lost? Are you confident in your lancework.. These are all things you need to consider." Lady Lucy spoke with a slight sternness to her voice.
"She isn't trying to be hard on you on purpose. But, it is true. You must consider all possibilities before continuing with your next course of action. You do not know what sort of event the future holds.. so you must be prepared for as much of it as you can."
"But, not in a manner that leaves you over cumbered. Otherwise.. you won't get anything done."
Midori shook her head slightly. She looked up at Sir Argol and presented him with the vial of spare herbs.
"We do not have much. And we are not certain what ails him.. but please take this. It is for the one knight who is ill and cannot preform his duties. The herbs in there are good for one batch of tea. Crush the herbs a bit before letting them steep in some hot water. They are meant to help relieve pain and bring down fever. Have him drink a cup of it's tea, about an hour before he goes to bed. Ideally, he should take it after his last meal of the day."

"There was a mauthe doog chasing him for a while." Sir Argol explained, then turned to reprimand Eqwin. "You shouldn't have pushed your horse like that! What if they were actually in trouble? Your horse would be too tired to fight and you'd just be a burden!" Sir Argol said. His very harsh tone was necessary, since swapping from it to his normal static "role model" expression so easily would reveal how fake it is if Eqwin was wasn't startled by it.
"Y-yes sir!" Eqwin said, stiffening up his body and straightening his posture. He thought about what Lady Lucy said. He wasn't good at managing time, Thoron was pretty tired and deserved a break at the outpost, he didn't know the landscape, and he was confident with his lance, but not against another person. "With all of that considered, I don't think I can act as an escort.." He said, a bit disappointed in himself.
"This is surprising." Sir Argol said when Midori handed him the vial. Was this a peace offering since he knew their secret? Hopefully not. "Thank you, I'll make sure this gets to Jeffrey." He said, putting the vial in his saddlebag. He turned to his squire and nodded. "I assume you won't join them as an escort with your somewhat disheartening statement, so say your farewells and then we'll head back." Sir Argol turned his horse to face the way they were going to ride.
Eqwin stood up straight and steeled himself. "I think I can manage escorting you to the village. I'll make sure to take good care of Thoron when I get to the outpost." He said. "I'll see you later, Sir Argol."
"Huh. I thought you wouldn't go with them." Argol said, as he waved his squire goodbye and rode away. "Come back in one piece!"
Eqwin turned Thoron to the group, and rode to their side. "I'm going to accompany you to the village you're heading to, I hope you're all OK with this." He said.

"A Mauthe Doog?" Midori inquired. She hadn't seen one of those. But, she knew what they were. At least according to the words of the travelers that pass through the village. According to them they were savage mutant wolves, capable of spitting fire or acid from their mouths. A plague upon livestock and humans who are unfortunate enough to wander into their territories. Midori was relieved to see that Sir Argol had taken her vial of herbs, with out any issues.
Lady Lucy wasn't surprised when she heard Eqwin state he wouldn't be joining them. She had suspected the boy's duties to his knight and his responsibilities to the others would outweigh the cost of him traveling with their ragtag band. But then Eqwin changed his mind mid way. She blinked slightly then accepted the fact that they wouldn't be leaving Eqwin just yet. Midori and Lady Lucy quietly bid their good byes to Sir Argol.
"Well Boy, we don't have much of a choice now do we." Lady Lucy spoke.
"Welcome to our group, temporarily of course." Lucy looked out towards Midori who was just standing there a bit with a small smile on her face.
"You want to talk about pampering that horse of yours please let Doreen help you with that. She spoils both Ashes here and Cinnamon with treats and pedicures. No dobut she could give you some pointers."
"I warn you, I can talk about horses and horse care till were both blue in the face."
"Speaking of which." Lady Lucy got off of Ashes and relinquished the reins back to Midori.
"My back could use a break. I'll be in the wagon." The old woman went and returned towards the wagon. Midori got back up on Ashes and guided her horse right up along side Eqwin's. --- End thread. Please feel free to kick off the support.
