Athos nodded to the young cavalier. "I have always felt that it is a woman who speaks the most sense in this world. You all are quite tired, but this message is of the utmost importance, also it will give me more time to see what's going on." he stated, leaning heavily on his staff.
"Many of you are fighting against the bandits for revenge. You must learn to look past that selfish motive and find a truer reason to continue your battle. For now, you will be asked to face a greater foe. These abominations have been risen from the grave, and possess great power. It will be up to all of you to stop them. As has been stated, you will learn to work together and overcome this evil, or all this world will perish. Recognize the strengths and weaknesses each of you possess, and face the danger before you. Hargus has become more than just a simple bandit leader, so you all must become more than simple warriors. The Way of the Warrior calls you, will you answer?"
OoC: Okay, it's Matthias posting as Athos... I'm tryin' here. If it's bad, Kenshin, feel free to edit it... I think that's where you're goin' though.
OoC: Added one small thing, but the rest was good.

'I have my own reasons for fighting, greyhame. And they do not concern you. Lady Alexia, Kenshin is right about one thing: I'm not a Sir anymore. Goodnight all.' Alan quickly ran after Matthias but stopped and turned around. The wyvern that had carried him in captivity had awoken. Alan tried to wistle it. It flew after him. 'I have deprived you of your master and I will spend the rest of my days to fulfill this debt. I will be your rider... If you would bear me.' At that he jumped on the wyvern and flew into out into the town (much to the dismay of the loyal citizendry, who thought him some kind of enslaver of lesser dragons.)

As Lumino watched Alan swoop away, out of sight, he had to agree.
"How do you see this? How do ask us, some of whom have almost no combat experience, to stand alone against this mighty army? This is not the job for a dozen rag tag warriors, this is the job for another army. By your leave Master." He nodded his head and then left the building, making sure Sokka had a firm grasp on Katara before he left.
The city people seemed rather surprised with his appearence, but nobody dared approach him. He assumed it was because of whose house he had exited. But still....he didn't want to be a hero, or a legend, or a figure for others to stare at in awe. He just wanted to be who he was, and that was a simple mage.
"This raises an interesting question...judging by the sand, I am in Nabata. I wonder how I can get to Bern from here." He wondered out loud.

"That kid does have a point, not all of us are ready for a real fight. I noticed he wasn't even prepaired to even take on Bern." Kenshin then exited the door and started to look for him.
After asking a few people Kenshin spoted Lumino and aproched him. "Hey, sorry about before. I never really had a chance to meet you. What's your name?"

Lumino turned around, to see one of the people he feared most. That red haired swordsman, they called him Kenshin as he recalled. He seemed to be sincere enough, but he still seemed frightening.
"My name is Lumino. I'm not sure how I wound up in the middle of that war, but I would like to thank you and your crew for stopping them. It's just weird. You guys may have helped to stop an invasion, but fight an army? That's just insane. No offence to your blade skill, but I don't know of anyone aside from the old man himself who could fight an army. It just seems so insane, why put this on us? It's quite obvious that as a group you are capable, otherwise you would all be dead. But having the potential to save the world? This isn't a fairy tale, it's reality. Things like that don't happen."
He looked up into the burning sun, wondering if even the old man believed what he had said.

Dray'Gon carefully braced Alexia as she was almost knocked over by Matthias. He then waited until Athos was finished, taking in his words like an apprentice, eager to learn from the master. He began to think if the reason he was after the bandits were a selfish one, even though he kept telling himself, and others, that it was for the betterment of Arcadia.
Dray'Gon finally spoke up, directing his words towards Athos. "Great Sage Athos, I would like to know more of this threat. It seems I arrived after much of the talk had passed, and I only know that some powerful undead have been raised, and that we are to deal with them. If that is correct, how are we to deal with them. If they are already dead, it would be hard to kill them again. I also hope you'll be able to help guide us to where they are for when we are ready to take care of them. I don't know about the others, but I'm not sure where to even look for them, beyond possibly a graveyard of some kind."
Dray'Gon tried not to seem like a fool, and spoke in as polite a manner as he could. He hoped his questions did not irritate Athos, but without the answers, he did not believe he would have a chance against whatever threat he was being sent to face.

"Well back before I rejoined with everybody when Matis was leading them they were able to save some other Lycian castle from the same thing I was going to fight. What was your problem on the battle feild back in Ostia?" Kenshin was trying to sound like he was intersted in what was wrong and not trying to scold Lumino.

"...I...don't like violence...I have never been in combat before...there was so much violence...and destruction. It was more then simple bandits...they were people with lives, families and children. It's so difficult to imagine the countless lives one sword can destroy...or one book. I guess....I just couldn't take it."

"Well just think about the inocent lives that will be lost if you were to let them bandits do what they want. My whole tribe was killed, only me and one lives on. They did it for no reason too, I would guess since my grandpa was a skilled swordsmen when he was my age but he was old and haven't fought since before I was born. Just think of the countless lives your book can save instead of destory. Violence has a good and bad effect in a time like this."

"The bandits are one thing, they deserve it. They only survive by taking from others. But the soilders of Bern. They had families, lovers, friends. They were just like any of us, they just fought for what they believed in. They were doing their job. How can I say that killing them is just? What if I am the one who is unjust? How do we know?"

"I guess you don't understand why they were attacking Ostia. The king of Bern is a greedy, power hungry war mongral. I made the mistake of letting him know Ostia was weak so he readied his troops to kill us all and take over Lycia. He knew if Ostia fell the rest would too. What they were fighting for was unjust, they wouldn't mind killing Sokka, Katara, Matthias, Alexia, you, or even me just to make their king happy. You were fighting with us to protect a whole country from a madman."

"How do you know though? Maybe they really believed what they were doing was right. It makes the man behind it evil, but not the pawns. I understand that if everything is as you say, it needs to stop. But that doesn't mean the innocent lives that get caught up in it, soldier or peseant, any less important. I feel I can tell you, because I seem to trust you. I am from Bern. We don't see things like you do, most people see the other countries as uncivilized and barbaric. Sacae is full of wandering ruffians and trouble makers, lycians are two weak to do anything on their own. This is what we are taught, but it doesn't mean it is the truth. Every story has two sides...the people of Bern are not to blame, the one behind the war is. If that is the king, or someone else, I don't know. But they are the ones who need to be killed for peace."

"But these soilders will be killed just to protect this man. If majority of the army don't agree with the king what's stoping them from just revolting. I can tell you there is almost no ruffians in Sacae, I've seen more from Bern then anything. But where a person is from don't mean everybody from there is like that though. But out of all of the LYcians you've seen while you were here, was any of them as weak as you learned?"

"You misunderstand my point." Lumino said shaking his head. "The point is that people are taught to believe in their rulers. They will not openly question their rulers decisions if they have no reason to. They do not see what is going on here, all they know is that the bandits are causing trouble in the outside world, and the walls of Bern keep them safe. These people are the ones that we fight? The people who are just as afraid as we are? They just believe in their king. Until we can make them see the one who is causing the trouble, this pointless violence will continue."

"But they had to see the outside world when they left Bern to go to Ostia. It's a trip I've made a few times and there is alot of things to see on the way. I don't think they would send them blind folded untill the battle. I've also traveled with some on my way back to Ostia when I was comeing from Bern's castle. We've talked about alot of things so they know how it is liveing in Sacae's plains. But also you have to think, not all of Bern is behind the castle walls so they know more about bandits then I do. They probly got raided every week if they had any type of income. Something had to be wrong to make Alan just up and leave Bern then fight against his former army without thinking twice. Even being taught to belive in the king they still have a free will to notice something don't sound right."
"Some people have the look that shows they can be trusted, that man's face shown nothing but lies when I saw him. What gave you any idea to listen to anybody in this party?"
