'I'm checking out.' Alan said as he stood up. He left the room to go upstairs.

"Well...it's something a bit more precious than my weapon..." he said, trying to regain composture.
"I don't think any of you know how this trip started...sit back and relax, because this is going to be a long story..." Matis said, taking a seat himself.
OoC: I'll use Matthias' version of the story. In the original, we were sleeping when the bandits raided the village.
"As you know, I am Kenshin's cousin, and we both come from the same tribe. The Wind Tiger tribe, whose name comes from the speed and the strength of it's warriors, was a peaceful tribe, that had a good relationship with the rest of the tribes. But one day..." Matis stopped for a moment, and drank a glass of water.
"We would take turns every night to hunt animals, so that we had something to eat at the morning the next day. That night, it was our turn. We had just set a fire by the village, when we heard the fire alarm go off. Even before we could make it back, we had been surrounded by ten bandits. Back then, going against ten bandits would have been suicide, but we had no other choice. But as soon as one of us took a step, we all heard a noise come from the bushes nearby. That is when we met Lord Sain, of Ostia." Matis then took an apple, and started chewing it.

As he ate the apple, he heard someone tapping his or her foot against the ground. Someone wanted Matis to continue telling the story, but there was no way to know who it was, without being noticed by everyone else. So he hurried up and continued the story.
"As you may have guessed by now, with the help of Lord Sain, we were able to defeat the bandits. It wasn't long after that when Matthias right here, and Flyssa the mage, approached us." He said, drinking yet another glass of water.
"Afterwards, we set on different routes, looking for help to take the bandits down, and you know how it all went. Jaffer the myrmidon was killed on our first attack, and Lord Sain went into exile after finding his long lost mother, who was struck by a bandit during that very raid. Lord Calis from Santaruz also died, while not in battle, from a heart attack, after his country had been taken by the bandits."
"Matthias, you might remember, back when I had become the temporary leader of this group, Kenshin was missing, and I set off on my own to find him. And I did...back in the remains of the Wind Tiger tribe. The entire village had been burned down, and nothing was left. Except for one thing. I found the elder's corpse. It was intact. And he was holding something in his hand...a pendant." Matis then stopped for a moment, and remembered he had lost it.
"A pendant that he used to wear all the time. A pendant which I kept, up until now. You saw it when Katara and I spared back in Ostia's castle. But when I went to take a bath, I left my clothes on my bed, along with it. When I came back, a blonde maiden with a brown dress was setting the clothes down on the bed once again, saying that she had taken them to laundry, and they were all clean now. However, once I set foot outside this place, I noticed that the pendant wasn't there." Matis finished, looking down.
"I failed the elder...I failed you...uncle..."
OoC: Remember, the elder was Kenshin's father.

OoC: Using my version, how very touching.
"So... someone took a pendant ya lifted offa yer elder's corpse?" asked Matthias, rashly clarifying. "Ya don't suppose ya coulda dropped it or somethin'? These people jus' don't seem like da sort dat'd steal somethin' like dat." He looked at the other companions. "'course, if dey did, dey're in fer one hell o' an ass-kicking," the sniper finished rising to his feet. "She can't o' gotten far. I'll help ya look fer it. I'm expetin' one hell o' a reward though.." he winked and grabbed another kabob, before heading deeper into the building. "I'll check da house staff," he called over his shoulder, mouth full of food. "We can always ask Athos fer help to."

"I don't think they stole it...but...if you could help me look for it, I would be very grateful."
Matis then went outside, and starting asking the townspeople if they had seen his pendant. Most reacted a bit scared, upon seeing the sword hanging from his belt, but they calmed down after a bit of talking.
However, there was no clue as to it's whereabouts. Maybe the maiden had kept it as a memento?

Brad picked up a glass full of ale sculled it down and turned to look for Matis' pendant. "Oh yeah, that stuff is only for adults" Brad said to the theif and the mage, they seemed too young to be of drinking age.
He first went to find the laundry room, Matis said the wench had taken his clothes to wash them.

Lumino scoffed at the shaman.
"I'm old enough to risk dying tomorow, I'm old enough to drink....if I wanted to I mean..."
He let the sentance trail off.

(OoC: How old is Lumino?) BiC: Brad looked all through the inn to find the laundry room, he tried a few times to ask some of the workers where it was but no luck, they still didn't completly trust him after they heard of his arrest earlier. "This is impossible" Brad muttered to himself as he stumbled down into the basement.

"I don't drink ale..." Ralph's voice trailed off. "Anyways it might have fallen somewhere while the maid was cleaning your clothes, you know, she might have not noticed it."
OoC: Is it just me, or has Matthias's accent been getting heavier?

OoC: Indeed it has. Check his first posts back in Sacae. He wasn't certainly a pretty-mouth, but it wasn't this noticeable.
BiC: Heading back inside the inn, Matis sighed. He hadn't got a clue of where it would be, and no one in town was of any help. Just as he entered, Ralph mentioned that it might have fallen while the maid was washing the clothes.
"It wasn't on my room, atleast. And I don't know where they take the clothes to laundry, since there's no laundry room in here...Wait...I know who might be of help."
With that, he rushed out of the inn again, leaving the door half open.

OoC: Jeez, heavy up the accent a little bit and everyone's complaining... Though, that last post was really heavy, now that I reread it... anyway... And he's always been a potty mouth, he just kept it shut whenever Sain was around. Trying to suck up to the lord he was planning on serving.
Matthias entered from the back, his search turning up nothing. He noticed the others drinking. "Aren't you guys a tad bit young ta be drinkin'?" he asked, cocking an eyebrow. he nudged Lumino on the shoulder. "Heck, you ain't even shavin' age yet." "Anybody know where Matis took off ta?" he asked, looking around at the gathered. "Or have ya all been too busy drinkin'?"
OoC: there, that's better.

Alexia stepped in from the bathing area, dressed in her new Nabatan clothing. "Is something wrong?" she asked, noting the distress among her friends. She tucked in her dress and knelt next to Lumino, reaching for a particularly nice looking fruit. Thankfully, the issue would draw attention away from her.

Coming back out of the basement and back into the kitchen Brad realised Matis had had his clothes on, he must have had a little to much to drink. Only one way to cure that, more drinking. Grabbing a beer Brad slumped back down in his chair not listening to the sniper.

"I...uh..ah.." He seemed unable to respond to Matthias's comments, and the appearence of Alexia only complicated things.
"I think...I am going for a walk." He mumbled as he got up and walked out into the sun.

Chuckling, Matthias sat down and attacked the food again. "Matis lost somethin', a pendant his village elder gave him. We already checked the entire place, so the person must've gotten away. I'm guessin' that Matis is goin' to find Athos. If the archsage can't find it, nobody here can. Nice dress by the way," Matthias nodded to Alexia for the last bit, before reaching for his own mug of alcohol. Unlike most of the party, he was old enough to be engaging in such activities.
