A massive explosion clashed throughout, the resounding noise of a ferocious bolt of electrical energy contested Leon's blade. He forced his arm to the side, reflecting the bolt of lightning off the tip of his sword. However, it hadn't come without it's own price. His blade was nearing its limits, on the verge of crumbling from the mere grip he carried it with, the old and tattered iron sword threatening to give up on him at any moment.
The powerful mage before him only cackled with laughter, chanting more spells, then directing their awakened rage. He cast yet another electrical surge of magic toward him, Leon kicking off the ground, flipping through the air, springing off his hands, attempting to dodge the blast.
He did, but as it hit the ground before him, dirt and debris was kicked into his face, faltering him a moment before a forceful blow to his chest was delivered. He gasped for air, his body being sent backward, careening into a rather large rock pillar. Body crumpling as he fell to the ground, his iron sword falling from his grasp now. He coughed, having been hit with a rather formidable lightning strike, by an even more formidable Sage.
The Sage gracefully moved his fingers, hand, and right arm all in a single fluid motion, directing a last spell. His death seemed near, but he couldn't do anything about it. His body felt paralyzed, unable to move, but he had to. In order to survive, he would have to move. And so, that is what he did. The would-be killer of Leon, smashed violently against the rock pillar. Pebbles and chunks of rock exploded from the formation, creating a bit of a dusty, rock powder behind. Panting heavily, Leon gripped his iron sword, sweeping it up from the ground. He looked toward the maniacal Sage, now with the intent of killing his assailant.
Why had the evil bastard even begun to fight Leon? His crazy brain had thought Leon was schmoozing his daughter, but he'd only saved her from a few bandits. The limey assholes were trying to steal her coin purse, and in return, they were met with Leon's blade. It was in a better condition then, but that was some time ago, and Leon had worse things going on now.
The magic-user turned, after the clamor had settled, he realized that Leon had lived. This fact made him even more angry, yet he grinned, as if he was glad to get a chance to kill Leon once more. "Alright boy, your life ends... Now!" As the final words spewed passed his lips, Leon ran forward, charging the Sage, all the while, a prominent right arm lifted. Palm facing Leon's form, the Sage cursed while spilling out another chant, a violent lightning bolt erupted from the palm, and Leon, put his blade in harm's way. The iron sword had taken all it could handle, the blade shattering into oblivion, but had reflected the lightning strike before it gave its last pewter cough.
"No, now you die!" Leon cried out, but another voice stopped him.
"Leon! Don't!"
It was the Sage's daughter, and Leon halted his hand. Knowing that the woman had not wanted her dastardly father to die, despite his actions, Leon only sent his foot upward, striking the man's lower abdomen. His hand wrenched, arm lifted, then brought the hilt into the skull of the Sage, rendering him unconscious.
Panting, Leon turned to Silvia, the man's daughter. "I am sorry, but I had to at least knock him out," Leon pleaded, "However, I don't have time to talk much. I am currently on my way towards the nearest town, and now, without a weapon, it will be much more difficult to protect myself, and others. So, before the night comes, I will hopefully have reached another town. Until then, I bid you ado," he put frankly, leaving with only Silvia's goodbyes fleeting from his ears.
