Panting, Matthias comes alongside the lord. He begins to wonder how the hell the lord can keep the breakneck pace in that heavy armor.
"Right... two days to get to Ostia..."
He glances back over his shoulder, wondering if he's going to be stalked.

Sain starts to get ahead of Matthias and calls out "It will take longer if you dont catch up!!!" Sain thinks to himself apperently all the training in my armour has paid off

Sighing, Matthias jogged to keep up with the Lord. He really should've considered actually doing those thirty mile hike training courses, instead of avoiding them. Thankfully, he had significantly less gear than his lord, and was able to catch up with him relatively easy.
"Thankfully you look fierce enough that nobody should want to ambush us. What with the increased bandit attacks and all." he said cheerily, crossing his hands behind his head. "Speaking of the recent troubles, what are you three trying to do? I mean, if I'm going ot serve you, I'd kinda like to know the details of this mission.

Sain says "we are trying to stop bandits from destroying the world that the 8 generals made" he thinks about what he is doing for a second and then says to himself "I really hope we can pull it off"

"That sounds...." insane, his mind told him... "Heroic... you sure that we're up to the task? I mean, shouldn't we be doing something simplier? Like... defending farmers from bandits or something?"
OoC: I'm logging off for the night. Supper's ready, and I've got Akira Kurasawa's Seven Samurai to watch. It's three and a half hours long, so i'm probably not going to post... for a while.

The sun was shining brightly; the birds chirping merrily in the trees. All in all, it was the sort of day on which people wrote poetry.
And Matthias was slaving along after Lord Crazy-Bastard. How that guy managed to practically jog in full armor was beyond Matthias's comprehension. Sain was like some sort of crazed running machine. Oh well, he looks like he should just be able to stand there and take it, should something attack them.
The mission itself sounded like a mass suicide waiting to happen. Somehow Matthias had found himself caught up in somebody's crazy quest to save the world from killing itself. Personally, Matthias would rather be doing something safe, and well-paid. He knew he wouldn't join bandits though. He was greedy, not evil. There were some things even an unsavory character like Matthias wouldn't stoop to.
OoC: Can I have the bandits just randomly start attacking? I mean, in the game (which I fully realize this is not, thank God), they're attacked every time they go anywhere. While that would be insane, some action would be a Godsend.

Sain started to get tired, but he was determined to keep on going, because it could mean the difference between too late and just on time. Sain Yelled back to Matthias "You better not stop, who cares if your tired, I am tired but im not stopping!!!"

Matthias felt like falling over dead.... so naturally his liege lord wanted to keep moving. Sighing, he rubbed his sore legs, wincing as his mind traveled the distance they had to go.
"What's the rush? Is Ostia under attack or something? Seriously, I doubt two people are going to make a serious dent anywhere," Matthias huffed. He glanced over at his companion. How he could not be tired after tramping along in that armor...

"Look if the situation is as bad as it looks, Ostia might be in Ruin already" Sain Exclaimed "and if its not, the sooner we get there the safer they will be!" Sain stopped for a moment to look at his map "Looks like we can stop for the night once we go another four miles, about an hour at our pace." Sain then continued to huff onwards.

"Great, I'll count the seconds till then," muttered Matthias, trudging along besides Sain. One thing rang in his mind for several minutes after they spoke. Eventually, the thought found its way to his mouth, and came out...
"Ostia? In ruins? That place is one of the strongest territories in Lycia (sp?). If it's in ruins, I seriously doubt we're going to be able to help." he glanced over his shoulder, wondering how the others were doing. "Of course, you could be trying to pick up survivors from some attack... how benevolent."
Hopefully, these stragglers would be loaded, Matthias would love to feel gold run through his fingers.

Sain told Matthias as he stopped "any surviors would probably be to broke to buy thier own weapons, let alone pay us, and by the way, we can stop now, we were at our stop point an hour ago, but you wouldn't stop" Sain started to set up camp and cot for the night. "Well, its bedtime, good night"

Matthias collapsed into a heap, glancing over at his liege lord.
"Guess that means I got first watch..." he muttered to himself, as he rose to his feet. He shifted some leaves around to form decent bedding, andsat down, intent on watching the night... He wouldn't go to sleep, he was viligant. It was his callword. Nothing would slip by...
Several hours later, a noise rustled in the bushes. Matthias jerked awake, peering into the night. Something was there, and it sounded armed. Matthias kicked the heavily armored lord, though he realized that the trained fighter had probably alread heard the noise. It looked like bandits... and there were more than two...

Sain also awoke to the large clank on his armour and then noticed that bandits had followed them. "Matthias!!! I want you to stay behind me!!!" Sain yelled, drawing his axe out. "Cowards!!! Come out and fight" Sain then pointed at the bandits, it looked like one was using a bow from Sains Point of Veiw. Sain also saw the bandit draw the bow and fire, but all the arrow did was break on his heavy armour. the Bandit archer was distracted by the failed shot that Sain knew that Matthias could easily take a shot at him. "Shoot the archer" Sain commanded "I'll go after the other bandit" then Sain ran off after the bandit.

Nodding, Matthias carefully knocked an arrow, and drew back his bow. This wasn't practice, the targe was going to shoot back if he missed it. Thankfully, Sain proved distracting enough to draw fire. Squinting into the inky darkness, Matthias found the bandit archer. Serious for once in his life, he carefully aimed, and let the arrow fly. It soared through the night, silent. Then, it connected with a satisfing thunk, right in the archer's chest. Not a fatal wound, but one that would make shooting back rather difficult. Hoping that Sain realized that there were far more than these two, he drew back for his second shot.
