As Emma started to serve the morning customers she started to think about the man that had saved him. Her mind was twisted in the events that had taken place that she was hardly paying attention to her work. She had actually given one man a plate with a fork and no food. The man yelled at her for a while and left. She decided to pay more attention to her work but the thief was still running around in her thoughts.

That Morning...
Mike had gotten up. He sleepily went to his dresser. He had gotten dressed, did his usual morning activities, and then exited his room. He then headed down the hallway, to the stairs. He was feeling a bit cheerful this morning, so he skipped a few steps on his way down, happily. There was a bright smile on face, but he made it disappear at the last step. He then coolly walked over to his table that he usually sat down, and waited. From out of no where, George appears. "Thought that was really funny, did'ja? Well, do I have plans for yew," he began, as he was about to go into a whole speech about how honored he should feel about staying in the inn, freely. Mike was about to let it pass, yet, out of the corner of his eye, he saw her. The waitress he defended that night. Mike couldn't help but feel a bit proud, once again. After all, he saved her life.

Emma continued to serve the slow trickle of people and without knowing it came to the table where the man that saved her sat. She got out a piece of paper to write the order of the man and said. "May i take your order sir?"

Mike replied to the waitress, "I'll have what I usually have. Hot-cakes, maple syrup on the side. With an apple, as well." Mike was silent for a bit, then continued on with some sort of conversation. "So, I'm going to figure you're new here. I mean, I don't usually see you around. Hah, maybe that's because I'm not around..." Mike then trailed off. Once more he was silent, ignoring the stare of the waitress. He then asked her, "Hey, has anything exciting happen here, or to you lately?" He asked this, not because he knew and wanted to hear it for himself, he just wanted to know what she thought happened.

"Yes i am new here, just got hired a couple of days ago. And as for excitement, well one thing has happpened..." Emma looked back at the man, such a weird question. The voice of the man sounded familiar, almost like... Then there was a click in her head and all the pieces of the puzzle seemed to fit together. "I was saved by a man from a man with an Axe. The man never reveled himself to me so I'm not sure who saved me." Emma wanted to ask him but she still had some doubt. "Anyways let me get your Hot-cakes." She walked away and walked toward her boss, George. She walked to the side of him and acted as if she was getting water. "So George, who is that man over there?" She said briefly looking at the Mike.

Mike watched her as she was walking away. She had a strange face that Mike was concerned about. Most people don't hide there emotion's, so they can have their facial expressions read like a book. From what Mike saw on her face: Epiphany. At that, Mike snook over to where the waitress went, and listened to her conversation. He didn't hear what the waitress said, but he did her George's answer. "Yeah... um, I cannae' tell yeah, 'cause that's confidential business, yeah see. I cantell yer that he is the top costumer."

"Top customer ey?" She thought to herself. "Thank's... I guess." She said to George. Emma grabbed the water she was preparing and took it over to Mike's table. She couldn't quite tell but it appeared he was breathing a little harder then usual. As if he had just sprinted! "Did he hear me talking to George? Oh no, if he is the thief that i think he is then I'm sure he could have easily spirited over next to me." She thought to herself and she gave Mike his water. "Here you go." She said. Emma could tell, she had shock in her eyes and Mike could tell. "I'll go get your food." She said awkwardly as she fast walked over to the kitchen. Emma was smart, but when it came down to it she could never hide her emotions.

When the waitress left, he was alone in the inn. He looked around, but he didn't see anyone else. Yet, he could help but feel that he was being watched. Mike pretended to ignore it, but noticing his own absence from other's might have signaled that he knew something to another. Mike related the feeling to the actions of how animals react. Like how when the prey finally notices the predator, it strikes...
Mike's prediction, of course, was right. As soon as he looked over his shoulder, a thief came out of the shadow's, in a corner, and striked. The enemy thief came at Mike with a dagger, and swung it at him. Mike ducked just in time, and flipped the table over, like a shield. As Mike kicked the table to where the thief was, the attacker jumped with lighting reflexes. He's good... but how good? Mike then bolted at the thief, grabbing his dagger at his side. The thief landed, as Mike pulled the dagger out, slashing at the thief. Yet, the thief expected this, and jumped back. He landed on the flipped table, skidding across the floor a bit. The attacker then dashed to Mike, dagger at hand, jabbing at him. Mike ducked to the left, now on all fours. He pushed off the ground, to wards the thief. He was now behind the attacker, and whipped his body around, at the same time slashing at him. Mike's dagger met the thief's dagger, and from then on it was a battle of strength.
Mike held his pose, all his strength, against the other thief. The same for the attacker. As both eyes locked, Mike's eyes blazed red, like fire. Mike was gritting his teeth, as was the enemy. The thief then said, hurriedly, "So, you're the guy, eh? I heard this, Noble Thief, looked like the devil himself, but really, some kid? Heheheh... look's like you're-" Yet, the thief talked to much. He didn't use all his strength. He now was dead, with a slash across his throat. Mike sighed, then said, "Never waste your breath on an enemy."

Emma had received Mike's food and walked out in to the eating area of the inn. "I've got your food h-!" *Crash!* It was the sound of the plates hitting the ground as Emma saw the place where the fight had happened. There was a man with his neck cut on the ground and Mike was above him... With a knife. "You are him! I knew it! But the man!" Emma was in total shock as all this information flooded in. She looked at Mike and was about to speak when the Inn's door was kicked in. Bandit come in and looked at Emma "Hello sweet thing. You wanna come back to my place?" He walked toward her and Emma reacted quickly. First she took out her fire magic and attacked twice at the man. The first missed and hit the wall and the second hit his left arm, somewhat burning it. "Aw. Look who's playing hard to get. I guess we'll have to do it my way. The bandit took out his hand Axe and threw it at Emma. In response she picked up a chair and threw it at the Axe. The chair and the Axe collided causing the bandit to be temporarily weaponless. "Thief! Help! Attack him before he grabs his Axe!"

The bandit was making a break to wards the weapon. He jumped at the chair, only to find Mike in front of him, dagger at hand. Mike then swiped two times, making slashes on the bandit's chest. This caused the bandit to be in critical condition. He fell, right in front of the axed chair. As the bandit was reaching for the axe, a foot landed on the hand. The bandit yelped in pain, as the heel of the foot dug into the bandit's wrist. The birgand looked up, seeing Mike's eyes, blazing red. The birgand murmured, "And they call you... The Noble Thief..." The bandit then died, inches away form his axe.
Mike stood there, not wanting to say anything. But he had to explain to her. So, Mike then said, "Look, miss, you should hide in the upstairs. Or in the cellar, or where ever it is most safe. I will move the bodies, and I will explain. You already know enough to put me in jail, so please... just wait here..." At that, Mike began moving the bodies toward the back alley. He used the back door, because there were some people outside, on the street. Mike wanted to scream, because now, his secret wasn't safe.

Emma's eyes where wide open. A person had just died before her very eye's. "I trained for this, I have to be ready." She said to herself. The images of the man dying played back in her head over and over and over. "Gah, I have to snap out of it!" She said almost in a scream. Emma let her mind calm down and then she had made up her mind. It was time. Emma went out to the ally and found Mike. "If you are the Noble Thief then you won't kill me, so i want to help you. Let's clean up the streets of Ostia, Together."

Mike looked around, uncomfortably. He didn't like the surroundings, but it was safe. So he then replied to the waitress, "I do not think I can change your mind on the matter, as you seem to have a strong will. You probably never seen a man die before you, yet you look as if you are under control. "Very well, I guess you can come. I just have to warn you, it will be a difficult challenge. "By the way, I never got your real name," he then asked. He always imagined her as just a waitress. Yet, now, he knew she was more than that. He, by examination, concluded that she was a mage. He could tell be the fight.

"Yey! Thank you so much!" She said giving Mike a hug. "Oh and my name is Emma. I don't think i got your name either, all i know is that your the noble theif." She said cheerfully.
(Ooc: I'm going on vacation so you can control Emma in the story.)

"Well," he began to Emma, "I guess we could start the work, right now." At that, he went over to where George was, and tried to explain, hurriedly, what just happened. After the speech, George was speechless, and didn't say a thing. Instead, Mike filled in his words by saying, "Looks like you need a new waiter, or waitress." At that, Mike and Emma left the building. He felt bad for George. After all, Mike just stole his waitress.

Later That Day...
The time spent on the hunt was fruitless. The two hadn't seen one bandit all day, and to make matters worse, he had to face George. The man who could throw him out of his inn at any time. The man who provided him with everything he needed. The man that Mike just stole an asset from. As unfortunate as it already was for Mike, a new conflict would arise. One that could endanger all of Mike's work; the law.
As Mike and Emma were entering through the back as they always should, Mike heard talking in the bar. He notioned Emma to get down, as he was going to take a peek at what was happening. He saw three soldiers facing George. Two seemed like average soldiers, and they were. The third was a heavily defended knight. Mike and Emma waited for what seemed to be hours, until the guards left. When they did, George had bad news to tell. "Mike, ol' lad, I a wee bit of bad news for ya... It appears the law is hot on yer tale. And they found out you're in this area of town. I don't know how they found out, but you... well, might have ta leave..." George said the last part in such sorrow. Mike also frowned at the news. For now, he had nothing else to do, except get some rest. He then told Emma to do the same thing. Yet in Mike's sorrowful heart, he felt there was another way. Yet he was correct. The opporitunity wwould present itself in the morning.
