"So, we're workin' in pairs now?" quipped Matthias as he shot down a spearman. An axe had somehow buried itself in the throne, and there were a few misshot arrows poking out of random parts. Adding even more to the image was a curl of smoke drifting from a piece of burned wood. For some reason, they didn't seem capable of hitting Matthias as long as he used the throne as a base. He had just begun to get overconfident, when something got his arm. He cried out in surprise as he saw the sleeve of his tunic turn red. "See! I told you I would return!" a scrawny looking thief darted out from behind the throne. "You're kidding, right? There's no f**k**g way you're the boss of these guys, Vanilla," growled Matthias, jerking his head to the soldiers. "It's Danala, and I was left behind to guard the throne while the great Paladin Burlok deals with the real invasion!" "Baby-sitting? It suits you," snapped Matthias, dodging another knife thrust. If he moved back far enough to shoot the thief, he'd leave the safety, and wind up a Matthias-shaped pin cushion. He shot another spearman, hoping to attract Matis's attention.

OoC: Sorry, forgot to ask. Is it alright if I use Danala as a temporary boss? I left it open for a real fight later. If this is a problem, just say he's lieing, he's been doing that since I introduced him. also, sorry ahead of time if i make a mistake regarding anyone's characters.
Grumbling, Alexia dove to scoop up the myrmidon known as Haku. "The last thing we want is for you to die because you feel like playing hero," she protested. Unfornately, the added weight left her more open for attack. She felt the flames lick her armor, dealing mostly surface damage, and whirled to pierce the mage. Thankfully, Matis, Matthias, and Alan attracted most of the attention, being macho-men. Though the soldiers were soon finding out that the others weren't to be ignored. Grinning, she whirled to finish off another archer. "Sokka's right! Get the stupid leader!" she cried, whirling to find out where the others were. She saw Matthias and a thief dancing about on the throne, looking rather ridiculous. "Alan, I'll help Katara! Get the thief!" she called skyward, drawing her sword and moving to clear a circle around the Sacean. She wasn't about to interfere directly with either Katara's or Alan's battles, but she'd make certain that no one would interfere.

"Huh? Was that Katara?" Sokka said. He had just cut a fighter's throat as he heard a banging on the wall and a cry for help that sounded familiar. He knew Katara was here, he just didnt know where. He thought Alexa had said something about her, so he followed the young cavalier.

Katara was about to run when Alexa can around the wall. "Alexa! im so glad you here!" She shouted. The axeman ingnored her and began to spin his axe around, faster and faster. Oh, no! Katara thought, a critical hit! "Alexa, look out!" She said as she darted away from the man's killer axe.
OoC: its not really a killer axe, it's just describing it. and would they call it a critical hit in a real battle?

OoC: I thought we were all in the throne room, but whatever, it works for me. We've been describing crits as hits packed with emotion (Matis and Matthias get them most often, as they have weapons that actually have crit percentages), but you could reasonably call it a crtical hit. BTW It's Alexia. There's an extra "i" in there, making the name slightly unique.
Alexia saw the blow coming, and knew it would hit someone. Grunting, she shoved the delirous swordsman off her mount, and prepared for the hit. The axe sunk deep into her side, causing pain to shoot throughout her entire body. All her training couldn't prevent her from crying out as the weapon tore through her. Thankfully, Fleetfoot had enough sense to get her master out of the path of the second strike. "He's... distracted! Katara! Sokka! Finish him!" she gasped, fumbling for her vulnerary. She could see the bandit grin, and knew she was in bad shape. Placing her fate in the hands of the two young Saceans, she dusted herself with the vulnerary (why would you drink something that comes in a sack?).

A bit late on the take up. I followed the thief. He escaped through a doorway however and I then I was attacked by a knight. 'Dammit!'

Matthias was greatful that Alan had scared Danala out of the room. Hopefully the stupid thief got eaten by a wyvern, would suit him. HOwever, the ordeal had left Matthias tired, and a quit glance told him that only he and Matis had remained in the throne room (OoC: fairly certain on that...) Grimacing, he shot down another soldier. "Ya know, Matis, it's beginnin' to look like it wouldn't be a bad idea to get the hell out of here," he stated, drawing back for another shot. "Seeing as they have some damn hidey-hole with reinforcements. We need to get the damn leader."

OoC: Was it ever said what a vulnerary consisted of? I'm just thinking of it as some sort of "potion", if you wish. But yeah, it did come in small sacks...wonder what the hell it's supposed to be. Poll time!
BiC: "You are damn right." Matis ducked under another axe, but was kicked in the stomach by the very same axeman. Rolling backwards, he was back to his feet, and next to Matthias, who had somehow cleared the path to the door. No one in the throne room seemed to be the leader. Having been in charge of Ostia for a while, he had learned that in time of crisis, the leader would hide somewhere where no one would actually look at. "The tower! They are in the main tower of the castle!" Matis had said out loud. Ostia and Santaruz had very similar castles, and both had a tower that would stick out taller than the rest.

Katara lunged at the axeman, her plade piercing his black, shriveled heart. "Ah, how...sad." he said. She looked at Alexia. "Are you okay?" Katara asked her. "I think Matis wants us all to go to the tower or something" She told the cavalier.
OoC: I know, one of my friend's name is spelled like that. I just had a brain freeze or somthing.

"Tower, got it," barked Matthias, jumping down from the throne. He dodged out of the way of a sloppy mercenary. "Moving very quickly," he muttered, dashing out the door. He didn't bother trying to see where any of his companions were. As such, he didn't noticed the knight until he ran into him. "Sonuva..." he cursed, bouncing off the solid steel. Looking up, he saw a knight of... Santaruz? "Holy crap, does everyone want to kill us or what?" "No, just the ones that need money," the knight retorted, stabbing down at the archer. Matthias rolled out of the way of the thrust. An archer didn't have any chance against someone this well armored. Thankfully, most of the other soldiers were busy with the other companions, but it didn't do Matthias a whole lot of good. He whirled out of the way of another wild stab. "You really suck at this, you know?" he taunted, dodging another piercing blow. One hit and he'd crumble, but for now, he's doing just fine.

OoC: we could have the vulnerary come in a variety of forms. Maybe Saceans have a potion form while Phareans have a powder, who knows?
"I'll live," Alexia responded to Katara. Finally, she had time to study the two sword-wielders. "You two really do look a lot alike..." "Anyway, you said we need to head to the tower? Use a vulnerary on that man," she pointed her sword at Haku, "and we'll head as a group. I'm wounded, but I've also got better armor, so you should probably let me go first. Hopefully we'll run into Alan, and I think I saw a shaman back in the hallway... those types are always more helpful then you'd think." Elime must've been watching over them, for no more bandits clogged the halls. The outside attack probably drew them all away. They needed to press the attack, and soon.

As soon as he heard something about the biggest tower Alan flew out a window. He resolved to enter from the top to surprize he enemy forces.

Matthias continued to dance around the knight, ever thankful that his light armor allowed him to do so. "Ya know, I'm beginnin' to think I could do this all day," Matthias drawled, ducking under another wild spear stab. The knight was beginning to look tired from all the swinging. Just to test, Matthias jumped back and shot an arrow at the knight. As he expected, the arrow bounced off the thick armor, clattering uselessly to the floor.
"Great..." muttered Matthias, looking down at the arrow. He looked up just in time to dance out of the way of another attack. "YA KNOW SOME DAMN HELP WOULD BE NICE!"
OoC: don't be afraid to post more than one line guys... seriously... and look at the roster, that was a lot of work.

Alexia watched the myrmidon take off down the hallway, and she began to have serious doubts about his listening abilities. "Didn't I just say it would probably be a good idea for me to go first?" she asked no one in particular. Kicking Fleetfoot into action, she raced towards the tower...
Being mounted, she quickly overcame the walkers, and found Matthias playing ballerina with a rather large knight. Overcome, she stopped and gawked at the scene, trying to stop the laughter she could feel building up. It wasn't as though she could do anything to the knight either, she didn't have the arm strength to pierce that armor with her flimsy slim lance. Interrupting the fight would only draw her into it. She looked for someplace safe to rest her, while she waited for help.
