(OoC: Sorry for not healing you. I thought you meant heal all the guys who got taken down by the arrows. Also, I got an idea.)
Back at the castle, Wylie turned to Crow. "Now give me a look at a that arm." Taking the arm, he lightly rested the end of his staff on the wound and it began to heal. Within seconds, the would had disappeared and Crowley had full movement again.
"Master Crowley, Master Wylie," a servant interrupted them during breakfast. "The Marquess requests your presence," but his tone indicated it was more than a request.
"We'll be right there right after breakfast," said Wylie, realising as soon as he had said it that it was rude to keep a Marquess waiting. Cramming the last of the bacon into his mouth, he hurriedly grabbed Crowley, mid-swig, to come with him and meet the Marquess.
"I'm extremely sorry for the delay, Lord Yeo." Wylie said, as honestly as possible.
"Not at all. Not at all. I could not be offended after your performance last battle. Actually, that is precisely the reason I have summoned you."
This made Wylie tense.
What's going on? What did I do wrong?. A million possible errors flew through his mind as Yeo paused before continuing.
"I have recently captured an assassin who attempted to kill me in my library, and my guards, in questioning, have discovered he is from a mages' academy in Etruria. This may seem forward, but... ...I need to know who in the mages' academy is behind the attack. There is a council of elders who act as teachers and instructors, and one of them has sent a student to kill me. I don't care how you do it, assault the academy, infiltration, spywork, it doesn't matter. I just have to know who is behind this."
Whoa, thought Wylie. This was a lot to take in. He remained silent.
"The reason I have asked you two, is that I have received reports on the last battle that were very favourable. Apparently, you both compliment each others' skills very effectively and as such, you make a good combination. As well, you are perfectly suited for this task. Small in number but suited to a wide variety of tasks."
"Of course," continued Yeo, "the rewards will be extremely handsome if you should succeed."
"But sir," offered Wylie, "aren't our skills required in the defence of Santaruz?"
"Yes, they are," replied Yeo, "but this task is of greater importance. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but my death would have disastrous impacts on morale for our forces. As well, my intelligence leads me to believe this is part of a larger ploy against Lycia as a whole, and that I am merely the first target."
"This is a difficult decision," considered Wylie out loud. "What do you think, Crow?"
(OoC: sorry for the length but i think this sounds like a pretty cool plot to run with
)
